To those who say this game is "free" think again. Thats only to get you in and spend money and I've done just that. Some sort of compensation should be and IS expected! Any other business would be accomodating. If this queue issue is not resolved soon, then I'm out! Cant wait around just to play a game

I keep seeing massive amounts of forum threads about people complaining that it is taking so long to get into the game since LOR launched.

STO was in some pretty dire times, and it's still amazing through all the initial hardships that it even made it through development let alone launch and three years later. It survived through what would normally devastate most into wishful thinking oblivion.
Thanks to their determination, and us players sticking with the game an investing in its future by purchasing zen and items, the dev team has grown and they have been able to give us this great expansion.
Sure there's times we all get frustrated at some of the things Cryptic does, but in the end they have and are continuing to give us a really enjoyable game.
The login queue just proves we were right to invest in the potential we knew the game had and what the dev team could really do some amazing stuff if they had the right resources. So when I'm stuck at 25,042 of 25,454 eagerly waiting to get in the game, I take comfort in the fact that so many are trying to get in and how much brighter the future of the game is with all these new and returning players.
Now with all that said....Cryptic get some more Servers or I'm holding Bransflakes favorite spoon and Tacofang's tacos hostage until our more servers demands are met. (just kidding of course)

I could accept that they may not have been prepared as they could have. It's always possible.
But looking at the sheer number of people queued? I find it very hard to believe they could have anticipated something on this scale. They could have taken every precaution they could have thought up pre-launch, but they aren't psychic. They couldn't look into the future, see what was coming, and then fix it.
It's understandable to be frustrated, but some people are going way too far in their assumptions of just how prepared Cryptic could have been.
LOL, i was 15000 in waiting, waited for 2 hours, and reach 475th position, when i saw message login to server timed out. Fastly i reconected, and i was 25000th in order to play

Its possible that something in the update completely broke the system, and it's not clearing out disconnected users properly, hence the huge queue times as each account finally reaches a trigger idle time (probably broken as well) where they are automatically "forced" out by the system.

I know the feeling. I bought this game before it was f2p, spent hundreds of dollars on ships, zen, and upgrades. Now I feel betrayed, bamboozled, and ripped off. I was 142 out of 23,849. Really, and you say gold, and silver members have priority. I don't think so. You guys have become to greedy in your quest for the GREEDERS ultimate frontier....MONEY. I love Star Trek with all my heart but I feel that you have disgraced this game, and the long time players. There was never a que before so why start now, oh, to sucker people into buying your gold, and silver membership. The way it's going now even they have to wait. Guess I'll go back to playing Star Trek Legacy on my XBOX 360. Fix this problem before you really loose your faithful players new, and old. I have patience, but after 2 hours and still not able to play.....well you figure it out.

PW are interested mainly in making the quick buck and doesnt matter if this game grows or not, because there are in fact players here, playing this game and other games, that actually believe that this is "normal"!!!...so PW will keep sucking the money out of some players untill this game is empty and the inevitable shutdown is announced.
Thats why the mmorpg genre is in decline, nobody really cares for nothing, its all good, untill the game starts to breakdown, they label it a fail, and move to the next flavour of the month.

I mean this expansion is good work across the board. They filled out the Klingons, added new events, and dropped the Romulans on us. In addition to a graphics upgrade and a revamped UI.
Which is actually how we got here. Everyone got in to see.
That said, it is an awesome failure of vision to not have planned for this. Heck, see if you can rent some more servers. I don't understand why businesses aren't willing to invest back in the business so they can expand anymore, it's not just in the MMO business but across the board. No one's willing to spend money to make more money.
And buying more servers isn't a bad idea, you've got the space on hand for the next time the situation comes up and maybe you can use it for another game down the road, though someone with expertise elsewhere pointed out that industrial capacity servers are insanely expensive.

If you think about it, it is actually a separate log in since you had to select a character and enter the queue after you logged into the game with your user and password.

4450 for me.....
I've seen queues during the first week of each new season (since FTP), but it usually gets back to normal after that.
Never seen 2000+ before though. Probably going to take a few days off, but I expect to be on my normal DOFF schedule by this time next week.
