    It is a routing issue. Looks like a couple routing places are down, or not working properly.

    The autoupdate pops up

    Trying to update the launcher.
    Please be patient.
    Tried connecting 2-3 times.

    Then I get this:

    Unable to establish connection to Patch Server. Please check your Internet connection. If problems persist, please contact Technical Support.

    So I you don't use on-demand patching and you want to get on, I suggest using Private Tunnel instructions.

    On demand patching is where it'll patch places and missions you've not been to in a while, so if you are playing the game with it switched on, you'll need your 'other' connection to patch those places (usually meaning mobile connection) - hence the switching off on demand patching.

    They don't need any more. It's just "something" to do to placate you while no actual progress is made.

    This is such an odd error... I get it occasionally and I can usually resolve it by powering down my modem and router. Just a guess... could this have something to do with static vs non-static IP addresses? Maybe the Cryptic Launcher doesn't like certain IP addresses and every time I power off my router it get a new IP address?

    Anyway... I was able to play last night and low and behold, like many others in this thread, I try to log on a few hours later and no luck. By the way my usual trick doesn't work, however, maybe I keep getting an IP address that Cryptic Launcher doesn't like... just a thought.

    Yeah, this is a routing issue. Oh well, guess I'll get some sleep, maybe Cryptic will have found out who forgot to plug in their router and have had them fix it by the time I wake up.

    Sadly I have an iphone and it's a personal phone... and here in the USA at&t charges $50 for tethering service... so it's not an option.

    Private Tunnel worked fine with the on demand option still ON... I just know that the moment I go into a zone I haven't been in for awhile I'd blow through the 100mb there too. :)

    you know the problem exists that people cant get in. i see post where people are posting there tests for you- cryptic to try and tell you resolve the problem.

    this is not going to help you- cryptic. and you still dont have a clue is to what happened. now if you ask me i will tell you. only if bran flakes or a dev asks as i dont want to get banned by there stupid rules.

    I am affected. Been Waiting since 6PM GMT. it is now 9:33PM GMT. if they do get this sorted soon i hope there's some sort of compensation. maybe a special cryptic compensation box which features all the lock box ships, the jem'hadar attack ship, the breen chell grett cruiser and the standard odyssey star cruiser. openable for free. no doff packs, no xp bonuses just the ships. as in random one ship per character if not that at least bring forward the 3 year anniversary event forward 2 days early and let us play the special new feature episode as a thank you for waiting.P.S Great game when Playable

    Is anyone even playing this game? Here in France the launcher won't even start... All I get is a small window named Cryptic Launcher Autoupdate with "Trying to update the launcher. Please be patient. Tried connecting # times." And at 3 times it says unable to etablish connection to patch server ect.. Yay
