As for the Typhoon, I'd rather see it as it's own dedicated ship Snipe. I hold a soft spot in my heart for the Typhoon as well, and it deserves to be a true battle ship as it's namesake describes.
Plus it'd be a heck of a lot faster and more manueverable then the Jupiter!
Now the cats (:biggrin:) out of the bag with the Atrox, make the Jupiter available as a carrier, and the Typhoon as a tire 5+1 Star Cruiser or Assault Cruiser.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Personally I'm not a fan of Full on carriers, the whole "Reduced combat capability of ship so It can launch pets", I'd much rather have a Ship that can go 1v1 easily with any other PVE "dreadnought" in the game.
Also true about the typhoon, I just hope we get some customization options with the Jupiter because I'm not a fan of the Odyssey philosophy of "you get one costume....Deal".

Anyway, I agree Snipe. I'd like to see a full combat carrier/dreadnought, but I can also see why it'll never happen: balance. It'd throw off the "balance" of the game to have a flight of 12 advanced Peregrine Fighters attacking one target as well as up to 8 weapon slots too.
Whew, that'd be sick to play... but as you can see, it'd be unbalanced :P
Oh, it is a joke post... essentially making the Jupiter more powerful than an Elite STF Donatra boss fight.

I did take one thing from it though, I believe that if the Jupiter is released it should have at LEAST as mush hp as a Vo'Quv. IMHO the Vo'Quv should have more hp than it has now, but that's just me.

I can say with 90% certainty that the Jupiter will not be released with season 6, if you listen to THIS You'll learn a TON about the new ships and fleet stuff, it's lengthy but pretty good.

If I had to give an honest, unjoking guess... I'd say the Jupiter will be a Tier 6 upgrade of the T5 Gal-X dreadnought with carrier capability.
That would be my assumption, based on ship design and the way the game is currently trending.
They have, however, said that they are not planning a release of t6 ships in the near future. If at all.
What they are doing, and what they want to do in order to push the boundaries of the Tier system is the new "fleet" and "advanced fleet" ship system. These ships are going to be tougher and all around better versions of most of the ships released and can only be acquired through working on fleet bases and projects, and then only if your fleet decided to develop advanced shipyards.
It's a cool idea and I look forward to it, but it's not very future minded. The only way to get fleet points is to work on building stuff, so what happens when the base is done? What
happens when you make a new character and join a fleet who's base is nearly complete?
But I digress, it seems that there will not be a new step in the tier system, so if at all the Jupiter would be t5.
There is now confirmation of the possibility of side weapons in the game. Captain Gecko says that he wants to include them on the Andorian Battle Cruiser! So if all goes well and fortune is on our side, the Jupiter could have some side weapons as well.
My guess currently for the Jupiter and really any other T6 style ship would be season 7 at the earliest, but most likely Season 8 for a release with the rank cap increase.
Bloody Hell, if you don't like it don't fly it, I hate the Titan, Vesper, Nebula, and Obreth Classes, so I just don't fly them.

As an addendum to my above post, these Jupites in the KDF fleet defenses are in fact tougher than the older Jupiters! Meaning it's even more fun to fight them or be blown outta the sky by them

I would not mind this, as long as they don't trade survivability and combat power for "pet" use.
