    That I disagree with,

If you have to ask the cost......

Well if you have a problem with the word "cost", I'll simply restate the point again without it:

You: You are trying to get something for a LOT less than other's have had to pay for it.

Me: Pay? You dont have to pay anything, you just have to get 5 people to sub.

    There ya go :o

I'll try to keep it simple as well:

Recommending this game to get 5 subs in it's present condition will cost me more than if I just bought the 5 games myself. I have to live with these people. They like Star trek as much as I do. They will finish the content before the 1 month sub is up. I will have to keep them going for at least a month.

I hope you are not just trying to goad me into saying something to get me in trouble, but if you really don't get it yet nothing I say will change your mind.

If you really feel that way, then you shouldnt be referring people at all.

If Cryptic are going to make a decision about this either way, they'll be doing it when the first month of referral subscriptions finishes.

If the new accounts don't resub, then the potential for further income from these accounts (and the referral process as a whole) will be negligible. At which point, putting the Galaxy-X up on the C-Store would be the best return on the time invested to create it.

However, if most of the referrals are genuine players who continue subscribing; then they'll bring in more income overall. Thus there won't be a need to offer the ship on the C-Store.

You mean other than playing the game with your friend? Your argument sounds alot like "why should I invite my friend over to do something unless I get something for it?" :o
Right because when Cryptic writes "reefer a friend" it actually means a friend. Duh...

My friends all have jobs like mine where we have limited time to play and they are in different time zones.

We will not be playing together.

I want the Galaxy X as bad as you apparently do. (all the threads you have going about how they should sell you one in the C-Store)

So I must go to all the trouble and time to get 5 subscriptions.

If Cryptic puts it in the C-Store, It invalidates my investment.

Believe it or not, I dont want the ship at all. Though I am a RA5, I am still using a T2 cruiser because its the ship I want :D

The way Cryptic has handled the c-store is a perfect example of why the micro-transaction system sucks in a P2P system. If making cosmetic items to sell on the c-store is the method being used to bring in new players and keep them, then I fear for this game. A game with solid content and playable diversity wouldn't rely on it so much.

Just stop with all the silly games and put the items directly onto the c-store., No more exclusives, limited time offers, referrals, get 5 signatures from foreign officials....yada, yada, yada. The c-store seems to upset as many people as it pleases so just place the items directly into the c-store so we can stop having these ridiculous debates. Everyone gets to buy. No one is singled out or left out. Problem solved.

Seriously, no one is going to sign up to play just because they received an in-game item.

Just for fun, go ahead and explain that. Cryptic has never even claimed the Gal-X is exclusive, so why do you expect it to be?

Hey nag this is quote from dstahl can't qoute correctly cuz threads closed but I added a link

Before any more pitchforks get handed out... let me offer up some info before you go burning down the village.

The 3-Nacelle Future Enterprise config will be an exclusive variant of a T5 Galaxy ship we are planning to add to the game as we increase the skillcap at various points in the future. In fact I see plans on the schedule to add T5 versions of the Galaxy, Intrepid, and Defiant class.

So yes - the Future Enterprise - 3 Nacelle config is an exclusive "variant" and may be the only T5 Galaxy for a while, but there will be ways to get similar ships in the future - they just might not have the 3rd Nacelle - or front mount single phaser cannon.

you may now go back to your regularly scheduled riot...

Hey, thats cool. I hadnt seen that quote and was only going off of the wording of the official referral program page. That doesnt change the question of this thread though. An earlier poll showed the vast majority of voters do not think it should stay exclusive, and the majority of voters in this poll show they want it added to the C-store. Thanks for finding that quote though, at least it settles the issue of what Cryptic actually said(though we know the same was said about the other items too).

Then why have you been creating polls about it since they annonced it?

The irony of that statement is it is usually the people who say it who it applies to :D

The real irony is hes right this ofrum and everwhere in the world are people who don't want to work or pay for stuff it's always give me or I want the easy way out

Of course they do as myself and several others have pointed out time and time again the haves are outnumbered by the have nots. Every poll will show the same thing people wanting something cheap over expensive wow what a newsflash we needed a poll to show this? I know that this item isn't paid for with money but if you compare talking to people about the game, mailing referals, answering questions, helping them in game, it adds up to alot more than it would be on the cstore.

I havent seen anyone asking to be GIVEN anything. I have, however, seen people asking to BUY the Gal-X in the store :o

Hey nag you're pretty good at hunting things done join me in looking this for quote and we can settle this thread
All these polls for items to be placed on the C-store.

Crptic already stated that they went to Atari and they declined them to use the Galaxy X in any other way than the promotion. I can't remember which dev said it, but I know you can find it.

All this OCD need to have everything....

This one isn't even Cryptic's decision to make.... but have a poll for all the good it will do.

What does that quote have to do with "settling" anything? Its one persons opinion, and it means absolutely no more or less than anyone else's. The great thing about a poll is you can see right away exactly how many people have one opinion vs another, without reading all the posts :o

The referal prog in general screwed all the people who got their friends to buy into the game on day one, so why should a referal item which isnt even listed as exclusive remain only attached to that program when virtually every other exclusive item is now in cstore or vet reward program, put it in the c-store cloak/gun and all, but while we're at it add liberated borg to.

Get it all on the damned c-store that way people can get what they want, and maybe cryptic will finally get around to adding real ingame rewards as someone else said earlier in the thread.

Oh, of course it would be easier. However, it also COSTS money. The referral program, while requiring more effort, does NOT cost money. So it really depends on the person. Some people would rather spend money and go the easy way. Others who DONT like the idea of having to buy items in a video game could get the item for free, but with more effort. StormShade made the same point himself:
    StormShade wrote: »
If any of those items ever do make it to the C-store, then you would still be able to earn them for free, rather than paying real money for them, using the referral program.

I think Atari has more than demonstrated that they have no problem trying to pull every last penny they can out of this so I fully expect some variation of this ship to appear in the C Store soon enough.

Of course all your threads will just show Cryptic that they need to keep the Galaxy X exclusive as everyone who wants them in the C-Store WANTS them so more referals that way.

Long after much more powerful ships are in game, the Galaxy X will be released to C-Store.

The only conclusive data about Cryptic and this game is that they are unpredictable....

    Surprises all around!

A bunch of people not willing to do work to get something, and just pay money in the c store for it? Heh, get the 5 referals if u want it.

I guarantee that YOU have gone to a restaurant and paid to get something to eat rather than do the "work" of cooking it yourself. Guess that makes you "lazy" by your own logic ;)

I want the Gal X to be in the c-store even more now. To all the individuals who pull the " I had to work for mine" routine. I love how you claim it is all about people wanting something and not having to work for it but in reality it is more about you want your special toy and love to lord of over people who don't have.

I don't mind not having it but now I really hope they put it on the c-store to spoil your little party. Just what STO needed was more elitist <inset infraction gettting term>

I still have two more referrals to go and I really hope I get my two more then they release it on the c-store. Wouldn't hurt my feelings but as long as it hurt yours I would be happy.

It might have a special look about it. But that's pretty much it.

We dont want to lord it over everyone we want it to be "equal for everyone" like nagus himself said we had to get 5 referals to get ours why shouldn't everyone else?

Because unfortunately the way referrals work is NOT at all equal. One person may get the first 5 people who he invites to join, another person may spend even MORE time but not get ANYONE to join. On the other hand, everyone has to pay the exact same for the items in the C-store; there is nothing more "equal" than that, to use your word :o
