In a
previous poll the vast majority of voters said the Galaxy-X should not remain exclusive to the referral program and should be made available though some others means. As a follow up question:
Should the Galaxy-X be added to the C-store?

Its good to set it up as a referral bonus for a certain period, but eventually there comes a point of diminishing returns (the point at which all or most of the very few people who can/will get 5 referrals or buy 5 copies have done so.) where they can make more by offering it in the C-Store.
Its not just about diminishing returns either. As a Dev recently said:

So even if the Gal-X is added, the referral program is still an option for people who dont want to have to pay.
So I'm all for it. Put everything in the C-Store. But in the spirit of fairness and equality, the referral players should get to enjoy the Galaxy for the same length of time I got to enjoy the Mirror Universe uniforms. That being a month. Fair is fair, after all.
And a little more seriously, many players brought in their friends well before the RAF program. They did so purely to bring more people to the game and not for the goodies they'd get for it. So they should have a method to get their hands on the Referral items too.
The RAF people still benefit, since they not only get the ship completely for free, but they get 400 free C-points per referral. Points that dont have to be spent on the Galaxy or Holo-BO.
I dont mind it being added some way. Either accolades, or vet reward. but c store, come on. Honestly guys stop encourging this bull TRIBBLE. Im tired of all you lil wino's. Like the kids crying to mommy and daddy that the neigbor kid got a new bike.
As you mentioned the Borg BO is there already.
Plus, whats to prevent them putting a 'ship costume' version in that includes none of the different functionalities the referral one has?
Now that they have one, I feel its only a matter of time before more become available in some way shape or form.
If it's no longer tied to the refer-a-friend program, then I hope that Cryptic would wait a while before making it available.
Then a patch should come out with countermeasures against it.
When in Rome... The genie's out of the bottle. The damage to my trust is done. I say all exclusives should now be on the C-Store. In the end it's only fair. So where's my Red Matter Capacitor, and Liberated Borg?
All i'm seeing from ryptic atm is that they'll just roll over for the whiners. I'm not impressed with their conduct and will seriously debate whether or not to throw any more money at this game. The C-store is a joke. i thought it would be interesting, but its not. They said many of the items would be able to be found in-game for free, and they aren't.
Maybe Nagus's next poll should be, "Should the C-Store be removed'. Maybe I'll start it myself when i get a chance, and some sleep.
When this item was first announced there was an outpouring of grief. It should have been on the c-store at the beginning. Yes, using it for the RAF was a smart move on Cryptic's part but now I think it is time it goes on the c-store.
I personally think is should be a part of season 2 and here is why. Season 2 is a make it or break it for some players and anything that stacks the game for the make it part helps the game overall. While it might be beneficial to get 5 players to sub for a month but it would be better to have 10 subs stay. (Not that anyone will quit just because they don't get the Gal X but it might smooth out some of the rough edges).
As far as the Gal X being a problem to be honest, after the fad wore off you wouldn't see it any more than any other ship type. Plus there are new ship types coming so once the Gal X stops being the flavor of the month it will be back to normal. So in essence we would have a week or so with a fleet of Gal X and Fed cloaking and decloaking in pvp. Well to be honest, they would suddenly find out that the cloak isn't all that and probably would go back to what they were playing in the first place.
If Cryptic decides they aren't going to put it on the c-store by Season 2 I think the best thing they can do is to say something along the lines of "You won't see the Gal X on the c-store for X number of months.) One it will stop a lot of the threads asking about it and two it will give people a reason to continue to invest in the RAF. Otherwise people will hold off just waiting for it to be on the c-store and not investing in the RAF thereby defeating the purpose of this carrot on a stick.
Overall, I would say Cryptic needs to look at Season 2 as more than a content update and more of a way to general some needed goodwill. No matter what side of the fence you (general) have been on in all the issues I think there can be no doubt that good will would do Cryptic and STO and the community some good. It isn't about so much of Cryptic using the Gal X to throw us a bone but more that they could use the effort they used to make it into helping the game as a whole. They said they wanted to take the middle ground and help out the game and folks who asked for the other stuff well this is the big puppy.
More people would care, I imagine about the Gal X then the Red Matter Cap or some turret or what have you.
personally though i think a long term veteran reward would be a more ideal solution, like after a couple of years.
or to get complicated a veteran reward that unlocks the c-store item after 2 years.
if people have for their own reasons decided to buy 5 copies and spend all that money they still get the ship for a couple of years before anybody else.
and the people that referred friends will have gotten the ship for free, as the program was intended.
It looks like nagus is living up to his name look how many polls he's started about getting things in the cstore not an attack just an observation
Yeah, that's what the rewards for STF's or other ingame-achievements should be for.
To have it now? To get it for free instead of paying 10 $ (assuming it will cost as much as the TOS Constitution)? Because you get 400 C-Store points (=5 $) for each referral? Because you want people getting interested in STO?
It's baffling how many people think that the icing is the whole cake.....
I want that ship badly but i can wait some time out of respect for the people who worked hard to get it.
I would pay 2000 c points easy for that ship in C store, but hey that's just me.
I agree no they should not and thats a good point I highly doubt he does it for the good of the community it's more likely out of greed but hey at least he's honest about it with a name like that what did you expect?
What do we have currently for loot in the game? Mk X purple gear from vendors and....tribbles? I'm trying to think here guys but I honestly cannot come up with anything post-launch that you can loot through this new content added that is even close to being as unique as ship designs or a Galaxy-X.
It feel like you have to meta-game the game itself to get anything that makes you go "OH COOL" than anything in the game does atm.
For that reason I am voting no, it shouldn't go to C-store. Lets focus on having some unique loot added to this NEW content that keeps getting added to the game.
Not everything - as witnessed by the [current] lack of liberated borg and red matter capacitor in the cstore, this would appear to be an indication of Cryptics desire to not put everything in the cstore.
I say put it on there but given that a tier 1 ship was on there for 800 points how about putting it on for 8000 - lets see how many people REALLY want it then  as lets face it the ship like many of the cstore items simply is not that good.

Thanks for the compliment
If it werent for the fact that the welfare system is a free service, while you have to PAY for the items in the C-store, that analogy might make sense. However, for the reason just stated, it doesnt. Sorry, please try again.
