Well....I'm rather surprised about the boff layout of this "luxury" cruiser. Wow...this thing is a BEAST!!!! I was expecting an engineering heavy ship with good science capabilities and maneuver like a big boat. Did not expect it to be the most maneuverable tactical cruiser on Fed side.
Frankly, I would have just been happy with a less tactically capable ship as I didn't expect much tactically from a luxury civilian ship as long it had fun features (such as fun interiors, dabo tables, etc) I could play with. This was going to be my "fun" ship.
Regardless, I will still grind for this. In fact this will be my main ship as my character prefers non-Fed, civilian looking ships. Thank you to the devs...although it is not what I expected...I'm going to fun with this ship.
However, people would really love it if you did add an unique bridge and interiors for it in the future. PLEASE do this. It will be great if we can wear our swim wear in this interior....also swim wear for our bridge officers as well.
Please make it so.
Also wondering why the peacing loving, tree-hugging Risians make such tactically powerful ships. I wonder...perhaps they are secretly preparing for galactic domination right under our nose. I bet they are the real villains of STO. Forget the Iconians.
We were unable create a custom bridge for the summer ships, much to the dismay of the entire team. Things happen.
There is no playable custom interior space for the forest/islands. That would be an incredible amount of work, and this ship was already tons of work to begin with.
It's an aux2bat cruiser with possibly a 2 piece set boost to particle generators like the one from the breen set to help augment the console which is a movable gravity well with extra effect at the end. Nice ship, but not my style.
There is no playable custom interior space for the forest/islands. That would be an incredible amount of work, and this ship was already tons of work to begin with.
Dude...
Dude ;_;
My summer vacation is ruined.
Eh, nice job on the exterior of the ship though, I suppose.
KDF have no Cruisers...nor do they have any Dreadnought Cruisers. KDF have Battle Cruisers and Flight-Deck Cruisers.
I believe qjunior meant "Cruiser" as a blanket term for every ship with "Cruiser" in its title, like "Marauder Flight-Deck Cruiser" or "Mogh Battle Cruiser", rather than the ship type "Cruiser". And to be fair, the KDF does have access to ships that could strictly be classified as "Cruisers". Specifically, the Cardassian Galor Class Cruiser and the Undine Dromias Bio-Cruiser... and now the Risian Luxury Cruiser.
So basically the two things people would really want this ship for: a new bridge and a playable interior space are not there. Another massive fail! Way to go guys. Keep up the good work. *facepalm*. No wonder that wasn't mentioned in the dev blog. There will be a ton of disapointed players. Again, so much wasted pontential.
Maybe the Dev's parents never taught them the basic lesson "If you can't do something right, don't do it all."
Devs-
I neither care about playable interior space or a new bridge on ships, especially this ship. But some do. A combat luxury cruise liner seems a bit ridiculous to me, but you are aiming for fun.
I want a combat ship with special weapon devices that have manageable and competitive cool downs, 2-1.5 minutes preferably.
The information on the current blogs really raises more questions than answers and a more through blog can head off misunderstanding, frustration and speculation.
I'd really like more information on Risa Doffs and their powers.
Three. Vorcha retrofit, Bortasque and Mogh. I love the Mogh, best cruiser in the game for me. Not sure if the Deridex Retrofit or the Scimitar count here.
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.
You have 3 ship Atrium selections, Forest, Islands, or Blast Doors
We were unable create a custom bridge for the summer ships, much to the dismay of the entire team. Things happen.
You have two alternate part options for many parts of the ship, missionpod/smokestack, 1 bottom ring/2 bottom rings, 2 engines/3 engines, double stanchion/regular stanchion, etc.
The ship shares all of the crazy custom color choices of the Corvette created by Adam, you can fly around in your own hot pink ship if you want! I even divided the ship up into many different parts so that you can have even more customization.
The Atrium forcefield is tied to your glowy bits color choices(thank Jamz for that), there are 8 unique forcefield patterns.
There is no playable custom interior space for the forest/islands. That would be an incredible amount of work, and this ship was already tons of work to begin with.
The ship's sails animate when in sector space, they open up to reveal sails along with the rear 'rudder'.
Any other questions, within reason, and I will try to answer.
Thanks, and I hope you guys enjoy your time on Risa, I'll see you there!

Truly and utterly disappointed by the interior. The ship is nice, but the interior is what could have made it special.
To fulfill the "all the amenities" thing, could you do a quick re-skin of the D'Kora bridge and call it good? Everything could be in the same place, with the same structure, just brighter lighting and maybe a few tropical plants? The Lobi Consortium was after all responsible for the retrofit, so you could justify its use of "modular systems" from the D'Kora, and it would at least mollify those of us that really, REALLY wanted the ship for the interior by at least giving it the amenities the initial Dev Blog indicates...
Maybe announce a competition where Foundry Authors design the interior using the Foundry map design toolset? You could announce the winner at the close of the Summer Event and make the bridge available then; even if it takes a bit, I for one would REALLY like a proper interior that does the initial Dev Blog justice. Assuming, of course, that you can use maps designed via the Foundry toolset for an actual bridge.
I don't know... those two are my suggestions for possible solutions for what's a big disappointment, at least for me.

Everything else, awesome, and thanks for the official response.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
I haven't read all 23 pages (yet), but am i the only one thinking that this ship look somehow like a Yeager Class? (side view at least)
That Risian Luxury Liner got a far better BOFF/Console layout than the Galaxy -R lol.
Either Starfleets enginnering corps is full of complete idiots, or Cryptics devs just want to flip TNG or Galaxy Class fans off.
I mean that ship is explicit called a "luxury Liner" (something STO players always called the Galaxy Class) but that ship gets 1 Lt. Cmdr Tac and 3 tactical console PLUS a Cmdr Engineering AND 5 Engineering consoles?
WTF?!?
I hope this is just a (very) bad joke.
If not, dear devs please explain me this...

Unless I missed a specific Dev Blog or a post, where did the Devs say there's be a custom interior and bridge?
Y'see, that's the thing: they never did
People assumed about the Custom Interior because the leaked shots showed off atriums on the top of the ship. People assumed custom bridge because the Breen ship got one for the Winter Event. So, people naturally assumed that they would both be there 100%

This is an event ship thing. They make these extra-special so that people play during holidays.
Breen Chel Grett: Scidestroyer. Battlecruiser that trades CCs for a Commander tac station and a LTC sci. Best ship for NWS in the game except maybe Scimitar.
Breen Plesh Brek: Unbelievably nasty fast escort. This is a glass cannon, sure, but I've seen it do more effective damage than DHC scimitars using CRF 3 on a single target. Plus, the super flanking makes it fun to fly as well as powerful.
Risian corvette: The definitive cap-and-splode PVP ship. Slap an impulse capacitance cell on it and you will make hyper-elite Scimitards weep in PVP.
All are fleet level. All are laughably OP, especially when piloted right.
The ship looks rather functional, especially for players on a budget looking for a cruiser. Solid
People seem less interested in the exterior than the interior. It sounds like the interiors of ships are more work than the exteriors....wish I could think of a good solution but Im a finance guy not a programer. Seems much could be done with all interiors in general....certainly a large demand for it.
I want to thank the Devs for the hard work, sounds like they busted hump to get this out in time for the event.
One of these event ships needs to be a sci ship at some point. Like the others, a nice solid entry with a unique twist or so.
Eventually, it will be silly to keep adding ships every annual event, but you'd get us to play if we then had to gather pearls or favors for interior spaces for the existing ones. I guarantee if you offer a bridge and atrium unlock for the cruiser next year, a lot of players would grind it out just to get it and it would save time developing a new ship
We were unable create a custom bridge for the summer ships, much to the dismay of the entire team. Things happen.
There is no playable custom interior space for the forest/islands. That would be an incredible amount of work, and this ship was already tons of work to begin with.
This is like having a Oreo cookie without the cream in the middle! There's been a lot of half measures around here lately and it's starting to become a bit sad. You guys should have just removed the atrium option instead of taunting us with it or waited a week or two before rolling this event out to make a proper interior. At least now I'll be able to spend sometime on a real beach this summer instead of Risa
Well its sort of ridiculous that the dev blog that introduced the Summer Event described the ship as a "space yacht with all the amenities", amenities being the same exact word that is used to describe the useful things that exist on the bridge of the Tuffli and Cellship, and then come right out and say that oh well this ship isn't even going to have its own interior much less a useful one.
That Risian Luxury Liner got a far better BOFF/Console layout than the Galaxy -R lol.

All I can think is, those Risans may be fun loving, but don't mess with muh party of I'll kick yo azz !:D
I can respect that ! lol
What I haven't seen here is what about the cost ? Especially, "the discount" upon the second Risian ship and if this effective from start if you have already the Risian Corvette slotted ? Most of us that did it last year would/should have it, at least I see it flying it around often.
There is no playable custom interior space for the forest/islands. That would be an incredible amount of work, and this ship was already tons of work to begin with.
Just lost all interest in grinding for the ship for all my alts.
Will most likely only get it for my main character now, but thats it.
I couldn't help but laugh when a lot of players actually thought there was gonna be a custom bridge...really? After the epic fail design of the interior...wait I mean the two rooms...inside the Scimitar Warbirds, people actually think they will work on more interiors? /facepalm Don't get ya hopes up because it seems those features are overrated and gone for any future updates. I would love to see Rom ships and the new ships get custom upgraded interiors but not gonna happen it seems. For those who blah blah about "bridge interiors" aren't important lol save ya breath that's your opinion and there's a helluva a lot more players like me that enjoy our custom interiors and use them quite often whether it's important or not...

...we have at the moment. The "space yacht with all the amenities" bit from Dev Blog #22 at least justifies having... amenities?
That's why I made a couple suggestions... heck, I'll add a third: announce that the bridge will be available at the close of the Summer Event and use the time to knock out the Luxury Cruiser bridge. Instead of designing an entirely new beach and whatnot as part of that bridge, have the turbolift include a "Risian Networked Holodeck" button that simply beams the player to the current "Classic Beach" that shows up in orbit above Risa. The "Networked" bit could justify players being able to interact, while the "Holodeck" justifies the setting... just leave the "Summer Resort" as the actual Risa map, make the "Classic Beach" map accessible from the Luxury Cruiser bridge, and you've saved some design time for the "Island" bit. For the "Forest"... yeah, that I don't have a cheap shortcut for...
[EDIT] The "Classic Beach" map would also need Swimsuits, Floaters, and Powerboards enabled, too; just tried to try out my old Floater there and it was a no-go.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.

Yeah but the Breen ship only got it the second time around (the Chel Grett didn't have it originally), and the Dyson ships were doing the 3x3-pack C-store thing, and both were just a single rooms anyways.
Plus didn't Tacofangs post once that its more complicated to do a ship interior than to do a whole ship (especially if you're doing a whole ship, not just a bridge), and its effort for something few people ever use? Certainly an interior would have been nice, but I can't really blame the business decision of not spending the additional resources on it.
Personally, I'm just gonna pretend like the Ferengi put a Starfleet-standard bridge module on it to make it easier to use, and that there's a button in the turbolift marked Beach Deck that just never shows on camera.
I was curious, so I looked it up. The Luxury Cruiser is only the second cross-faction ship to have a full comm array.... the first was the Galor. Every other cross faction ship with a comm array has only a partial comm array.
For Romulans and Klingons this is pretty cool since they don't have many options there. Romulan faction ships don't have comm arrays at all, and Klingons don't have any with a full array.

Heh, it's kind of funny thinking about it...how that LCdr Tac ended up on the Enterprise-E in the first place. Poor Defiant...
