    all eu players right ?
problem is very simple - due to data (packets) loses from your pc to server in us. You cant do much about it - only try to play on different hours or find another internet provider, or hope that thay make eu server too.

Still nothing from the Devs about this problem? WTH? i know im not the only one having this problem. its been going on non stop all morning. As soon as i switch maps it comes up 'Server Not Responding' then it ' Couldnt connect to Gameserver' then back to the login screen. then after i log in and pick my toon, it will load up where i was at before it lost connection. Its constantly doing this over and over. ive gave up for now. Would like a response though before the weekend comes.

I did one just now, no issues.

So is this ISP related with handoffs or is it Cryptics problem?

Stop telling people to check their systems CRYPTIC. Every other game I play on my computer is in working order.
It's YOU CRYPTIC that are the problem.
The problem is on YOUR END.
EVERY game I have runs just fine.
except for STO !!! (Ironically STO is the only game I've pumped a substantial amount of money into - don't even make me count it all up I'll just get even more PO'd - but go ahead and scan my account and you'll see I've pumped in a large sum of money for you at PWE/Cryptic)

I don't need to "Check my System" it's working as intended.. ..YOU ARE THE ONES WHO NEED TO CHECK YOUR SYSTEMS.

Buy a new hampster to run your server wheel. The old one died with S8.

Furthuremore, my graphics look like an 8bit Nintendo game now, and the setting for HALF RESOLUTION is locked to the "ON" position.
And cannot be toggled !!! WTH ???
So what ? You're telling me this is my systems fault ? BS
This all came about from the hack job that is known as S8

Seriously. It's been over two weeks now that I'm getting DC'd over and over.

    NOT MY SYSTEM !

    SWTOR works just fine
    DIABLO 3 works just fine
DIABLO 2 LoD works just fine
STO DOES NOT WORK AT ALL SINCE S8
it's obviously on YOUR end, quit BS'ing us and just say WE HERE AT CRYPTIC REALLY SCREWED THIS ONE UP -- That I can accept. Telling me it's my systems/Internet Providers problem is really starting to insult my intelligence.

And enough with the new content already, quit jamming it down our throats every two secs. Take the time required to fix the GAME instead of adding more deadweight Seasons and Events. WE DONT CARE, IF WE CAN'T PLAY THE GOSH DARN GAME ! And essentially your just going to make the repairs more complex by adding new content on top of BROKEN content.

Sorry to rant and rave like a lunatic, but I feel I have to speak up at some point.
Love STO, maybe one of my favorites of all time, so I'm not crapping on the Devs.
But please for the love of Q, get your house in order.

Again, if I came off lke a jerk I apologize, but thats me venting... I feel much better.
Now... I'll just go and shut my pie hole.
    You've heard my piece.
Sorry to be a raging idiot...just ultra frustrated.

    To end on a positive note;
S8 is remarkable (when I can actually play it)- The Battlezone is awesome, the new PvE missions are awesome. The Worf mission was fabulous (and the work you did to aquire M.Dorn must not have been an easy chore)
And a huge round of applause for giving us free Lobi for the last several week. I feel that is a really nice gift you've given us.
I will always be a fan of the work you've done here @ STO.
I'm willing to give you time to sort out these issues. But I guess I'm not going to log on for the next few weeks, and hope there will be a nice huge repair patch waiting for me when I return.

For some reason, ever since the patch, I've been experiencing a multitude of problems that I did not have before. The game repeatedly locked up on the load screen when I started it. I verified the integrity of the game cache, which seemed to solve that problem, but I am also getting disconnected almost every time I transition from zone to zone, forcing me to reconnect to the game. I am also experiencing frequent crashes of the STO launcher. Some of these problems began late yesterday (after the shard maintenance), but the problems have been far more numerous today.

Is anyone else experiencing these types of problems in this timeframe?

I am as well, however, my main issue is constant disconnects from SNR's while in game, not map transition. I did a traceroute to Cryptic's server's as in the first sticky, but everything looked good. I have no idea what the cause could be and suspect it's on Cryptic's end since STO is the only network issue I'm having at the moment.

Unless these other Game Servers are located in the same Physical Location as the STO Servers, this observation has very little meaning, as different locations on the Internet will have different Network Routes, and different Performance Metrics... (and you're talking about intelligence here???)

(And I just got off of STO to take a break, after running my Alts through the 'Fastest Race on Ice' and 'Winter Invasion' without any issues...)

If you could perform the 'Net Test' and 'Trace Route' Network Diagnostics, described in this thread... http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=225155

... and post the results, that would provide some clues as to what is the cause of your problem...

Normally, you wouldn't expect the latency to change from 9ms to 107ms from one node to the next unless there was some kind of issue involved...

Posting the 'Net Test' results would help, to show what your sustained network throughput is, and if you substitute the Windows 'pathping' command for the 'tracert' command, that would provide some information if you are suffering from dropped packets on your connection, and where they are occurring...

Also, after the first 2 or 3 hops, nothing is gained by removing the Location/IP address of the nodes involved, as this is all public information and disclosing them does not create a security issue...

Gah, I'm getting sick of these connection errors. I'm just about ready to give up on STO for a couple of weeks.

If I use the EU game proxy I am stuck on "Connective to the login server...", but if I don't use the game proxy I am stuck waiting for my characters to appear in the character list and unable to play. What's going on?

The raw latency values hint that there may be a issue with the Boston Cogent hub, but its not enough by itself to show where the problem is...

You need to post the 'Net Test ' network diagnostic results to show what your sustained network throughput to the Cryptic network is... And if you can substitute the 'pathping' command for the 'tracert' command, that results will show if you're the victim of silently dropped packets, and where they are occuring...

YES. Many of us keep getting disconnected from the server ... because there are a massive number of players in game right now at the same time trying to earn the free Breen ships and the Cryptic server can't handle all the traffic.

I'm so glad I give somewhere between $100 to $300 to this game every month (in addition to the full price lifetime sub that I purchased) and get disconnected all the time.

Now normally, the latency values of your Trace Route results are within acceptable values, but the Net Test results are showing a connection quality issue, most likely involving silently dropped IP packets... A Broadband connection should have sustained throughput values in the 300 - 500 range, while yours ...

It seems that much of the new hardware being used on the Internet backbone, instead of queuing packets to process as bandwidth becomes available, are instead, tossing the packet away in an attempt to reduce the average latency of processing packets. Since hardware purchases are often decided on network performance, this kind of development is not too surprising... but make network diagnostics that much harder...

Substitute the Windows 'pathping' command for the 'tracert' command, and post the results, as that should be able to show where the packet drop is occurring...

What kind of connections are you on? I'm on a 3G connection and don't have any issues at all tonight.

I have to add I vary rarely have issues, and when I do it's usually my crappy modem giving up.

Yup, having issues even connecting to login server. I've done traceroutes and speed tests, I know my connection is fine. Plus, this is only programs that's having any issues. Servers probably just bogged down. Glad I'm not only one, there are a million posts today with ppl complaining.
