Humans are also several thousand years older than that particular ship...
...just an observation...
Hah, a very good point Mr.
I was more... getting to the point though that CBS wont approve a fan favourite ship for end-game use, but they'd approve Armoured Dinosaurs with Lasers for use within Star Trek.
The art looks promising, however I can share some of the critisism here. What to think of a technological highly developped species that uses a less evolved sister species as, yeah as what? cannonfodder? That doesn't make much sense.
I like the mechanics though. Why do we not have more robots? Something that can fight, trim the grass and make you a cup of cappuchino.
Female Voth, a hot item, I suppose. How do they look like? My guess is they look (almost) the same as males. They lay eggs of course. Again, my guess is that they send them to a company that fertilizes them, breeds them et voila new Voth. So much for a family life.
First off, wasn't the Minister supposed to be a female?
Then... why use such a lesser evolved species?
Shock and Awe... you WILL demoralize everyone that has to face a gorram T-Rex-Derivate with huge Energyweapons mounted on its head...
I am pretty sure in a "non-game setting" even the most hardened Starfleet Officers would tuck tail when seeing this on the field and even the Klingons would think twice about hand-to-hand combat with that thing...

I doubt very much that a T-Rex would be cannon fodder.
Think of the Rex as your Ground Dreadnought.
...and then:
Stegosaurus (or Ankylosaurus) for the Frigate (armoured)
Triceratops would be your Heavy Escort
Brachiosaurus (or) Diplodocus for your Heavy Cruiser

They'd probably be similar to Female Saurian; slightly slimmer with TRIBBLE. That's likely it. That's how the Voth appeared in Voyager. Maybe they'll give them smaller heads with different textures, but they'll practically look the same.
In truth, if you look at us (humans) what are the main differences? From a glance it's our build and the fact the female of the species have TRIBBLE. Little else is of consequence.

I guessed as much.:)
But context is something we shouldn't ignore altogether.
While the M4 Sherman, the Tiger and T-34 are not longer used in the nations that produced them, those nations still use dogs and horses for certain tasks even though they're a much older "design".
It's because there's still a use for them because technology can't readily replace them, their sensory ability and their agility (yet).
Horses can just walk sideways and move over certain terrain, vehicles can't do all the same things. So we still see them in use.

Haha, whilst you're very much correct, I think you're taking my meaning a little too seriously.
CBS (who owns the rights to Star Trek) wont approve a high level Constitution/Exeter, but they will approve an actual Dinosaur with Space Lasers. Say it out loud and ask yourself if it sounds right. :P

What can I say?
Advanced Hadrosaurs escaped from earth during the mass extinction with space ships and flew into the Delta Quadrant...and humans never found any hint that those guys had by that point evolved to a species physically and mentally capable of space travel beyond what we can do today.
Compared to that armed animals aren't really that much.
There's also the cold hard fact that on several occasions the well-developed lore of the Federation is not only to its advantage but also to its deriment while it's the exact opposite for just about everyone else.
I'm not really crazy about attack dinosaurs and powered battle armor being in the game, but I won't complain. If it sells, it makes Cryptic money. And that money means the game lives longer and pays their staff (they gotta eat, ya know). So, why the hell not? Bring it.
Well I quite like what I'm hearing about the new Season. The holding certainly looks promising.
What worries me a bit are the Dinosaurs. Seriously? T-Rex's with lasers? Are we going Saurian Tales Online now? Dino Trek? Turok Space Edition? While it might seem like a cool idea in the first place please don't turn this game into Jurassic Park. I guess there's no chance of getting rid of them anymore but please just don't overdo it then. Thank you.
Having said that, can someone please edit the Voyager trailer and put the Jurassic Park music into it? I'd say that would be an appropriate intro for Season 8
Edit: Not complaing about the Voth here, just about their little back yard "pets".
Well, what kind of war beasts would you expect a culture as advanced as the Voth to have? And considering the Voth themselves are technically Earthlings, too, it's to be expected that any animals they have would be descendants of creatures that were their contemporaries all those eons ago.

If anything, maybe it gives the devs the excuse they need to finally let us get our hands on the Isomagnetic disintegrator. Big targets require a big punch!
I hear at the end of the new Featured Episodes that you team with Grimlock, Yoshi, Turok and Dino from the Flintstones to fight the Voth King who is aided by Barney and Baby Bop. After your team is successful in beating him Baby Sinclair appears to tell his smoldering carcass that he's not the mama.

The Voth evolved from the Hadrosaur. Not the Velociraptor.
Commanding Officer: Captain Pyotr Ramonovich Amosov
Dedication Plaque: "Nil Intentatum Reliquit"
Lol nice idea;)
I still dont think its good trek but it will be fun nonetheless
Not very likely when you watch "Distant Origin".
The closest match to Voth DNA the Voyager crew could find was the Hadrosaur

which is not exactly a raptor.;)

...everything that we see we do so because CBS 'green-lit' it...
...CBS apparently wont green-light a T5/Fleet Constitution/Exeter Class cause it is too old...
...Dinosaurs (of the T-Rex variety) are considerably older than a Constitution Class, and yet, have been given that 'green light'...
...just an observation...

(yes you can see the human legs but I'm sure the people were too scared to notice)

No.. no, I'm just messing. *hides*
Laser Dinos were not in the shows and games are not canon.
That should answer the question.;)
Thank you sir.
NP, feel better or worse now?
Better, I need a hug though..
