would you folks please fix the login server?? I would like to be able to play the game at some point here..

I start the launcher and it takes a while to connect to the patcher. after a few minutes and no download ( on holodeck ) it says engage and moves to the character screen.. The character graphics take approx 1.5 to 2.0 minutes to appear and I click on play.

The program acts as if its connecting then displays a message that ive been disconeccted from the server and i have to start all over again.

A similar thing happened with tribble, but there i was graced with a 594MB patch. It gave me hope.. So much for hope..

I checked the other servers i connect too including a local minecraft server just fo giggles, and no problems there, so it all boils down to your login server..

Given previous conversations in game over the last week or so, I do not believe that i am the only person experiencing these problems. Please look into this.. we would like to play..

Yeah, been trying to log in for the last hour and when I was finally able to get the LAUNCHER to connect, I disconnect getting to the login server.

And when I get past connecting to the login server, I get booted while trying to retrieve my character list.

When I'm able to actually get my character list, they don't load and I get kicked.

If I'm able to get the character to load, I time out trying to load the map.

I'm on CenturyLink like a LOT of the other folks who seem to be having trouble. I *would* blame CenturyLink if the only people having problems were using CL, but there are some who are not.

    I guess I'll try back in a while. :(

Unfortunately, we have not received ANY updates since then.

And it's been 6 hours since that players have been complaining. For a problem affecting the playability of the game, I expect a faster response.

And after forking over $200 for an LTS yesterday, you bet I want answers sooner rather than later. At one point yesterday I was lucky if I could get through slotting DOFF missions without an issue. Now I can't stay logged on more than a few minutes...and that's if I get in.

I'm also on Centurylink here in Oregon, and although i know this cannot be a century link only problem, I'm not taking them out of the equation just yet. See, because of my finances, i cant pay my bill on the first, and because of that, ive noticed several service anomolies over the past several months, which magically disappear the moment my bill is paid. This time however, the bill is paid and there are no other anomolies taking place.. Its quite frustrating..

I posted #97 above. I'm also a Centurylink customer. As I said, I'm usually never affected by anything other than complete outages, but this lag and being kicked over and over is horrible. Whatever the problem is, it started last night, and it also broke the "Tour the Galaxy" quest I was doing, and lagging really bad. When I logged on this morning, it was much much worse....basically all day has been horrible lag to where every character in an area just freezes for minutes at a time, then you're kicked.

    I've contacted CenturyLink.

THEY ARE NO HOPE AT ALL!!! They are blaming STO/PWE and something to do with open ports.

Spoke with a stupid first level tech and one of their supervisors.

Somehow I doubt this is an ISP issue. I'm having all the same issues with STO, however, I can do everything else (stream movies/download windows updates/log into other website0games/STEAM updates for Shogun 2/stream music/upload files) with zero issues!

It looks like Saavis which is located on the east coast is the bottleneck.. We had some issues with them doing MS Flight Sim multiplayer stuff as well. I could be incorrect but if i recall, they also maintain the US - European backbone of the net..

Same, Century Link also. I think it is on PW's end. I can play other mmo's just fine.
Whatever is going on seems to have gotten better, for me at least. I can finally log onto STO with very little lag.

Hmm, bet I just jinxed myself.

Nooo, this isnt a CL issue. the posted traceroutes prove that. it seems to be bottlenecking at Saavis which is pushing out data return times to being as much as 304 ms, which is an eternity.

well, as i stated above, it's not centurylink, and also, I dont believe its PWE. Everything points to Saavis. All anyone can do at Cryptic is to contact Saavis and report the problem with them and hope they arent too arrogant to do anything about it.

Agreed, something is very wrong on the server. I'm usually not affected by anything other than a major outage, but all day long there has been terrible lag and "server not responding" glitches, and a whole lot of getting kicked.

    This this so much this.

    Unplayable ATM.

And therein may lie the problem. Century Link owns Saavis now. They acquired Saavis in 2011. So still a Century Link problem. Grrr, it doesn't matter who is responsible. I just want to play the game dammit!!!

yeahh. We all do.. Its most frustrating when you can see the bigger picture and are still held helpless because there isnt a single thing you can do about it besides report the data that you get on your own PC.. I know we slam the guys at cryptic for a lot of things, and sometimes they deserve it, but this time i think we need to give them a bone and the data we can, and hope they can contact the responsible parties to resolve the issue..

Yup.. we're all pretty much getting the same thing.. Please go back to page 3 and post #24. If you can post your tracert to here as well, I think many of us would appreciate it. just remove the reference to your personal IP..

Now it seems I can't even log in from the launcher now.

Anyhow, I'm glad the problem has been noticed.

Attempting a nettest, but the last few attempts have been unsuccessful.

If it helps, ARC isn't showing the STO page from where you select a game to launch from your library.
