You appear to be geophysically close to me as we have the same traceroute returns.. again i want to point my finger at Saavis, but members from Georgia and Tennessee dont go through Saavis and are having the same problems.. everything is boiling down to the patch and login servers.. or, possibly, Cryptics ISP..

Idaho for me, I simply can not connect! I have tried everything, from restarting my modem, to switching computers, and nothing seems to work!

No, its not on your end, or mine or anyone elses on this forum. the mere fact that you can connect to this forum and post dictates that your network is correct.. The prblem appears to be directly connected to cryptic studios in Los Gatos california.. whether its ISP or server side though, i dont know..

    I'm curious.
can someone start up neverwinter and see if your getting similar issues.

I finally got in, same problems, bouncing around sector space like a pinball, freezing here and there. Changed instances from a number of 40 to 3, helped with lag, but now Hromi Cluster is broken. It will let me warp to the Azure sector right next door, but am sitting on top of Hromi, but no option to enter.

I am having severe rubberbanding and "server not responding" today.
Hasn't happened in years of playing STO.

I tried to connect to Champions Online a little while ago and the same thing was happening to me. Even their forums are up in arms over much of the same issues affecting us over here in STO. It's something to do with their servers, no doubt about it, but they keep on saying that they have no issues on their end. Denial is NOT just a river in Egypt.

A whole bunch of us are having issues like this. Most are posting in this thread... http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=744811

Ongoing issue now for a few days. Only difference is that it's now affecting more than just a few. Sadly, probably won't be fixed until the entire server cluster crashes and burns.

Well, I can get into Champions Online just fine and there doesn't seem to be any lag.

So with my rather limited knowledge I'd have to say things are fine on my end, it's definitely somewhere closer to Cryptics' end of things. Maybe not them directly, but close enough that I can play one of their games but can't even log in to another.

    Oh well, there's always tomorrow.

Well, I'm in at the moment with nothing but the usual complaints ( overbuffed opponents, unwinnable scenarios ) but if CO and possibly NW are having the same issues, then it seems more likely their ISP is TRIBBLE up somewhere..

I was just disconnected at least 15 times in 15 minutes ... every time I log-in I lose connection within 15 seconds. If I stay on the character select screen more than 10 seconds I disco right there. Just to verify it wasn't just a romulan issue I got on one of my feds ... and after a lot of rubberbanding got disconnected on that one as well (lasted 30-45 seconds on that one).

Is anyone else having issues today??

Yesterday I was having this exact same issue, today for me it has gotten even worse.

I was able to log in to Tribble long enough to beam up to sol system then I sat there for 2 or 3 min wile the Server Not Responding counter ticked up then finally disconnected me.

Since 10am this morning till now 5pm I have not been able to log in and stay logged in so I uninstalled STO and reinstalled it, I'm currently patching Holodeck in the hopes it will fix the issue, I doubt it but it couldn't hurt right? lol.

Okay, I was able to log in and play 2 missions with only some lag during 1 of the loading screens.

1st mission was lag free and the 2nd took a bit longer to load (not as bad as before) and had minor lag/rubberbanding during the mission.

The problems weren't as pronounced as the last 24 hrs, but were still there.

Same here. Logging in was never the biggest issue, but once I'm there, between "server not responding" and savage lag/rubber-banding, this "game" is about as much fun as having a tooth pulled!

    OKAY, report thus far;

    * Log in - ok still a little slower than before but better = B-

    * Changing characters (old fashioned way log out/log in) = B-

    * Playing Infected Space Elite: experienced lagging but tolerable= C+

    * Played Colony Invasion: lagging increased; minor rubber banding; D+

significant improvement since this morning and last night (6/10/13)

    Hey Everyone,

We have investigated this issue and it appears that some players are encountering an issue with a routing provider (Savvis) that exists between their ISP and our servers. We recommend waiting some time to see if the issue is resolved on their end, or alternatively, contacting your ISP to report the issue.

We will continue to monitor for additional issues and will investigate accordingly if new information is discovered. Thank you for letting us know about this!

How long would you recommend before PWE/Cryptic steps in on the customers' behalf?

    Hi Bran..

Thanks to the efforts of many players earlier today we came to the same point in analysis of the situation, which was soon dispelled as players logging in from both Georgia and Tennessee were also having issues. The reason their testimony dispelled the original theorem ( saavis ) is because neither Georgia Nor Tennessee go through the Saavis hub.

Continuing our investigations ( as you can read above from page 10 onward ) we cross checked symptoms and locations as best we could. Irrespective of Saavis or geophyisical location, we all experienced similar issues which centered around the 208 class A network ARIN as assigned to your company.. At this point, I'm afraid the ball falls firmly back in your court, or the court of your ISP.
Frankly, I dont know if its Cryptic or the company which is providing the drop to your company and i'm not inclined to point fingers irrationally. either way, Saavis is out of the picture even though it did and does prove itself to be a major bottleneck ( 115 - 204 ms ping times ).
I do know that this is the time of year that cupertino can get a lot of wind. If a wind storm in the valley caused network traffic to be rerouted, it could add to the prevailing lag that was already there.. Unfortunately, I havent had access to Tandems world network control room since the 90s so i can only guess..

I honestly don't think they care anymore. They've done their "investigation" and issued their "report", so that is that. They could careless if only a handful of customers can't efficiently access their network or their servers. They have no inclination to make it so that we can log in without any glitches. Nothing whatsoever.

As a Gold status member, this royally pisses me off. I couldn't imagine what a LTS feels right now. This game has been going down the crapper for a long time now. It was only a matter of time before it reached this point. Guess it's back to Eve Online for me.

Game has been playing fine for years, I've had to stop playing. Ping reaches 7000 during CE events and STFs (and stays there), on most occasions its between 500-3000. I dont know what ping I had before but it was always good and playable. hope I can get back into sto soon...

your coming in from Sydney?? Theyve only got one server for global coverage??? i must admit, i'm shocked.. your latency times are extreme btw.. 314 ms is way too long for anything to remain stable..
