I was just disconnected at least 15 times in 15 minutes ... every time I log-in I lose connection within 15 seconds. If I stay on the character select screen more than 10 seconds I disco right there. Just to verify it wasn't just a romulan issue I got on one of my feds ... and after a lot of rubberbanding got disconnected on that one as well (lasted 30-45 seconds on that one).
Since the "stability" patch, I have had nothing but instability. I have never crashed or timed out before this last patch and now it is a 50/50 chance that it will happen when I load into a zone.
same here,
since last patch I got random timed out diconnections while on loading screens
the fun part is that map loads to 90-something % in like 2-3 seconds and then I get kicked
it usualy takes game ~5 seconds to load a map
More disconnecting from the game.its very annoying
I think this is a warning to come of another server crash on its way.
I hope cryptic/pwe see this, and fix the bugs very soon.
Ship station bug is another annoying problem
What the heck is up with the servers today?!! I can't even do ONE foundry mission without constant lag and Server Not Responding issues. This is beyond ridiculous Cryptic! Not even a peep out of you on what the problems might be, NOTHING!!!! How about you work on Customer Service and TELL us what you plan on doing to fix this. And don't tell me that it's MY internet because it's not! I'm playing Eve Online right now and not one single lag or connection issue.
This has been going on since the release of LoR. You need to either A) Fix the servers you have now or Buy new servers for STO and another whole cluster for the Network Servers. Take a page out of CCP's book and do it right!!!!!
I've been having disconnection problems all day.
This has to be a prelude to a server crash on its way to us.
Come on Cryptic/pwe,sort out the clapped servers. you make enough money, buy some new more advanced servers that can cope and be bug free.
The stability issues don't seem to be improving. Besides ever increasing amounts of disconnects, I now have to reboot my computer before I can restart the game.
>>edit / Now rebooting doesn't work. I'm locked out of the game.

Yeah, I was noticing issues to the extent that I thought something started monopolizing my connection in the background. Even after closing down steam and other likely suspects, however, I still managed to timeout in the midst of battle - along with all the lag spikes. (Is there an ingame latency tracker?)
there are issues logging in here atm, just wolk up to hop on and what not and it is slow on character loading and i can select go on any of the 10 characters but i can't get on, it just shows screen of stars background and then log out ...
correction: it took about 5 tries, but it got me on, still was a little slow to get on though
Yup, lag spikes about once every 5 seconds.. cant really do anything but sit here, trying to do combat becomes almost comical, the Vo'quv turns slow enough without rubberbanding
Already checked my own connection, its smooth, so its something between me and the sto server
Im having the same issue. Horrible rubber-banding and lag just started today. Everyone else in my fleet seems to be fine though. My connection works fine in other games.
I'm glad im not the only one, this has been happening to me for 3 days now.. I've given up on my favourite game until I can actually play it again. shame too, I really like my STO and fleet have big battle in 3 weeks..
Okay, look, I know content sells zen, but if the game is crashing and people are about to quit playing, no zen is sold.
I remain with a game that crashes, and a crash reporter that doesn't let me type to tell you what happened, if it comes up.
Today I did a verify from steam and it had to download 11 files, which took 2 hours, then, per the instructions you all have for dealing with problems, when I log in I use force verify, another wonderful 10 minutes of waiting while the launcher decides what files to mirror, only to then have the game crash not even 10 minutes later.
If you want this game to go the way of Tabula Rasa, just leave it alone and we'll all leave over night (maybe 2).
However, if the goal is to sell zen, fix these problems, which it appears all have to do with the Launcher, protection schemes, and keys (I have the same exact issues with Neverwinter Nights, your other PWE game, and the Launcher is all that appears to be the same between a D&D game and Sci-Fi Star Trek).
And stop mirroring over the web please. Between network congestion, possible connection errors, and your servers having a possible problem, we end up with long waits due to this inefficient and prone to errors method of mirroring these files. Mirror to another area of our hard drive (at least the known troubled files) and quietly verify them.
We've all had enough with the problems since launch, half of which one would think would have been known before launch and fixes ready to "switch on" after launch, and launch wasn't 3 days ago, there's been ample time to at least get rid of disconnects and instability based client crashes. So while we appreciate your efforts, if you can't get rid of the headaches, we'll get rid of them for you by ceasing to play the game, which isn't anyone's goal but since we can't fix it ourselves....You see the problem? Just fix it.
same issue as well fine tell today and i never had this bad of lag and i always have a bit of lag due to the connection i have isn't even close to the fastest.
Yeah started about 8:30 MST for me last night just started having INSANE spike lag and has persisted through this morning. Took me multiple tries just to get logged in and set rep projects running for my toons. For the record I rarely if ever experience ANY lag whatsoever, so this has to be some issue that is new, at least to me. Also ... absolutely no issues with my connection on the rest of the interwebs either!
Super spotty can play fine for a few minutes and then suddenly Rubber banding like crazy making it imposible to play stays like that.. and know its not me personaly..
This lag has been going on for me now for a solid 24 hours. The server ping spikes are all over the place. from 200 to 50,000. Server not responding, disconnects, rubber banding. I thought it was my connection as well, so i tried 3 others....same issue. Just purchased the lifetime sub... probably should have stayed free to play. But hey, they got my money now, why should they care if the game is unplayable.
Thanks for the reports. Based on what we can see with the network, all appears well for STO; however, it seems that a few of you are experiencing some issue. So that our engineers can get more information, please reply and post your location, Internet Service Provider and a tracert result pointing to: patchserver.crypticstudios.com
Please also post results from a Nettest (make sure to remove reference to your local IP in the post). Instructions here: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=225155
If your tracert and nettest results come back with optimal results based on the instructions and information linked above, please reply to this thread with the following items as you experience the lag in-game:
Type the following commands in the chat bar:
/netgraph 1
/nettiminggraph 1
Pass along a screenshot of the above using the following command in the chat bar: /screenshot_ui_jpg
The name of specific character that experienced the latency during the time the screenshot above was taken (no need to post an @handle, just character name)
The ship class that the named character was flying during the time the screenshot above was taken (or mention if this was on ground and not space, or both)
The time the screenshot above was taken (please be as accurate as possible)
The Map name and objective step you were on when the latency occurred and when the screenshot was taken
You can then type /netgraph 0 and /nettiminggraph 0 to turn off the above graphs.
If you'd like to help but you don't feel comfortable making a reply to this thread, please send me a forum PM.
wish i sore this before i got pissed off n exited the game i was doing mine trap a mission i never die in n game lag got me killed twice had 3 server not responding messages then when exiting map it just went straight to the log in screen.
im from the uk if that helps any, and was on my KDF/ROM/TAC/Female.
ill try playing tomorrow to aggro to play now

Sunday I tried to login a dozen times with the same result: "Unable to authenticate". So, naturally I sent in a ticket, Ref# 130609-002086. I received the automated email but nothing since. I am running windows 8, which has its own problems, and I found out I could login to my account on my son's computer, windows 7. This prompted me to consider that maybe my copy could have become corrupt do I deleted it to get an updated copy, what a mistake. Now when I try to download the game the launcher always times out. I can't win for losing. So I tried last night to play the game on my son's computer but the rubber banding was so bad I couldn't target a thing in the PvE I ran, useless. So here I sit, 42 hours later, just reading about other people's server troubles. At least I'm not alone.
Thanks for taking the time to respond Brandon. At least someone is listening. =P

Should also point out, Brandon, that there are still long loading screen times. Always seem to get Server Not Responding on every loading screen. As others have pointed out, all other MMOs that I play, I have no internet issues whatsoever with them. No lag, no rubberbanding, nothing, but for some reason, my (our) connection to the STO servers is being interrupted at random.
You say that it's not your servers and it could very well be just that, but have you guys checked with YOUR isp? I remember similar issues happening to Blizzard with Comcast a few years back. Just a thought.
Anyone else experiencing massive instability at the moment. 5-10 disconnects a hour minimum, freeze frame lag followed by fast forward, 200+ second server not responding common place etc etc? Especially noticeable during PvE events...

* Severe lag; rubber-banding; multiple "Server Not-Respondings.
*Attempted to log in; wait for my ALTS to load; pick the character with more SEVERE LAG then timed out. LOST CONNECTION.
* Re-logged and got into my character just fine, BUT WAIT. More LAG and MORE rubber-banding.

Ping up to 3000 at times. Constant Server not responding messages and the character selection takes up to 3 minutes before i can switch a char.
It was like this last night when i came on still that way this morning. Reading the Zone chat I doubt its only a few people who experience LAG.
Whatever your networks diagnostic show is not what people are getting. Maybe spend some time in the game and see for yourself how laggy it is...
im from the uk if that helps any, and was on my KDF/ROM/TAC/Female.
