All of these science based ships...that no one will want to fly, because the entire science class has been nerfed to the point of being completely obsolete.

so many ships =D i am so looking forward to this pack it has a whole lot to be stoked for. i honestly want the isometric charge since it seems to be so deadly. both factions are really getting some treats and i bet the next lock box will have mirror escorts if this keeps going in the style they are goin in. also rozhenko class klink shuttle nice touch with the name. i wonder where the wells is going to end up Lobi store or in the box i hope lobi.
We CAN'T have a T5 TOS Constitution...because it breaks immersion.
But, we can have time travel ships from the 26th or 29th Century.
Canon fail much?
Ever heard of the Temporal Prime Directive? Oh and how about the Temporal Accords? Let's not mention that when these ships were seen in the series, the crews and commanding officers of said ships, were ADAMANT they not mess with the time line.
But now we're gonna have Time Travel ships all over the place.
Double Mega Epic /facepalm

Yeaaaaahhhhh...think I'm gonna sit this one out...
Nertz! I actually would like some of those ships - the Wells and Korath look sweet! My 13 Key limit might get broken...
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
What ever happened to the Temporal Prime Directive?
Is Cryptic really at the point where they can flush Star Trek canon down the drain for the sake of making money?
Why not? CBS and Paramount have been doing that for decades.

No star trek fan would do this.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

Oh stop blaming Cryptic again, as even the Star Trek series themselves were messing this stuff up constantly without any consequences. Want a good example? One word - Endgame (which is canon btw).
I for one look forward to this new box. Four new interesting ships - two as a drop and two in a lobi store - new space set, cool looking shuttles etc. And I don't care if they bend the canon a bit. They look nice and I am eager to know their stats.
The ships offered in Temproal Lockboxes certainly look and sound interesting, but I am disappointed that they are being offered through lockboxes. My understanding was that Lockbox ships were vessels that could only be offered in limited quantities (hence the delivery method) due to restrictions imposed by CBS. Since some of these ships aren?t even cannon vessels, I find myself questioning the validity of such a claim.
Ultimately, the ships look great, but I am displeased with how they are being offered. Although I am pleased to see that the lobi store stock will no longer be cycling its inventory; which should be good for those who open lockboxes.

"Stop blaming Cryptic again"? Believe this is the first time I really took objection to Lockbox contents.
But guess you are okay with 24th / 25th Century Captains, commanding 29th Century starships.
This is the most I've been disappointed in STO. It's obvious Cryptic doesn't give a D about Star Trek canon anymore. "Flush it, Jim!"
Those ships look great and I like the jumpsuits. I just hate the lock box system. I don't mind paying for ships and tailor options, I've done that, but I want to buy what I want, not whatever gets thrust upon me at random.
My alt army: K'ymara, Orion Engineer. Caedera of Borg, Liberated Borg Tactical, Elyza Vix, Joined Trill Scientist. Christina Bellona, Augmented Human Tactical. T'Lana, Vulcan Scientist. On the other hand, I tend to agree. While the Wells Class looks pretty sweet, I don't want to see dozens of them floating around in Sector Space. The ships are 400 years from the future of STO. They have no business BEING in the 25th Century. Even if the Tholians of the 25th Century, magically transport ships from the 29th Century, you don't think the Temporal Agents would quickly retrieve said technology?
In Future's End, moments after Starling in his "Aeon Timeship" was destroyed, Braxton from the 29th Century appeared, and brought Voyager back to the 24th Century. I doubt they would let entire starships float around 400 years before their time, without incident.
But guess you are okay with 24th / 25th Century Captains, commanding 29th Century starships.
Yup. No issues here. And if anything people can pretend these are some early versions and not the actual 29th century ships, or can just roleplay as a timecop or something if they want to (bwuh? people roleplaying in an MMORPG? why who would have thought!).
Oh teh horror, I can't enjoy my pew pew pew video game anymore now! Oh teh humanity!11onemeh
I wonder if you'd be so care-free, if these ships were PROPERLY balanced. A single 29th Century ship, would easily defeat entire FLEETS of 25th Century ships. How's that pew pew pew fun now??? (unless you are the one flying the Wells Class that is)
The only way these ships can co-exist alongside 25th Century ships, is to make them RIDICULOUSLY nerfed compared to what they should be.
I'd like to know when we are going to get back to making regular Starfleet vessels.
With all these odd lockbox ships, I look around and more often than not, the alien and strange ships outnumber the Starfleet vessels.
Let's see, we have Ferengi Marauder, Cardassian Galor, Jem'Hadar Bug Ship, Catian Atrox, Vulcan 22nd Century science ship, Tholian ships x 3, Mirror Universe ships up the wazzu.
How about some Starfleet ships?
Better yet, how about some brand new, never before seen ships? Even the last Starfleet vessel you put out (Regent) was a rehash of the Sovereign.
It's the 25th Century. How about some 25th Century, Cryptic made designs? Or are you guys simply incapable of making anything yourself? Even the Odyssey was a fan design, so that means your last design of your own came at what....launch?
Get your act together Cryptic.

The Wells does look nice, but it might be the only thing I'm interested in this lockbox. As with the Tholian box, it doesn't really feel like Trek. The content of those boxes have only played a very, very small part in ST history when compared to the omnipresent Ferengi or Cardassians.
Overall I like the fact that I can use this lockbox period to finish my Ferengi...still needs a few bits and pieces from the lobi store.

Yes, shame on players for expecting a game built upon a beloved IP to treat said IP with respect! Oh the hugemanatees!
I wonder if we all stop buying the lockboxes will they start making content that everyone can use? I would like this because I know the money I spend on STO is going straight towards producing new content which I will be able to use and so will everyone else.

As I have said in other threads about this subject, nothing is STO is about canon balance. We're playing in a game where a TOS-era D7 can destroy a Sovereign - a D7 could not even scratch a Sovereign in canon. We're talking about a game where 22nd Century NXs sit in orbit around Sol next to 25th Century Odysseys - and between them are sitting 23rd Century TOS Connies, Mirandas, and Oberths.
The game's about making Trek fanboys happy. It's not about making canon sense. If it were none of the traditional ships would be in this game. Period.

They just did the Regent, Armitage and are working on Vesta (confirmed) and possibly the Ambassador (would fit well with the S7 tholian-timetravel theme). Plus we've just got numerous Fleet ships, including refits. Yet you still ask for more?
