Oh yeah. Change your options to "patch via proxy" and change your proxy server to either EU or US (depending on your region). I did this and its downloading quick. Hope it helps!

The "Patch via Proxy" option works well. I'm at 81.5% and I've only had the launcher up for a minute or two.

I connect via EU proxy, living there, and no, hanging around at 5.1 % for quite some time now. It?s all about getting a spot in the queue now, nothing else. Too many people around...

Well, I have been having the same problem all day. Worked fine yesterday and stopped today.
However one thing i never try is troubleshoot as 90% of the time it does absolutely nothing.
This time though I tried it and it came back with incompatible application for windows 7 64-bit.
It ran it in compatibility with windows xp service pack 2 and it ran straight away.
No idea if this will work for anyone else though.

I did the same and it worked great

Word of warning to all tho im 110% sure the patching problems are due to the amount of people currently trying to patch (Obviously)

    So just be patient people

We are aware of an issue in which some players are unable to open launcher. Our engineers are currently investigating the issue.

    System message on the launcher.
    On the launcher.

    Brilliant, guys.

I tried this on the UK proxy and it went to 42KB and then just stalled completely. Then I tried it on the US proxy and it got to 32KB and it stalled. Cryptic still has major problems to work out it seems.

The launcher is just sitting there sating patching and doing NOTHING even though it is set to a specific proxy and patch via proxy. Tried running the game directly from the folder got to the login screen adn the account server bummed out.

We believe the error with the STO launcher has been resolved. Please let us know if you are continuing to see an error when loading it.

If it is running slow, please post a new tracert post (if you're willing, and after removing personal and sensitive data) so we can look into those reports.

    Cheers,

    Brandon =/\=

After following this issue for a little too long, I have given up on logging into the system. Within four hours from now, I will try to log into the system again. I currently see the launch screen, patch button is in gray, version patch is displayed, but nothing else is happening.

    *shrugs*

If I am unable to sign in later tonight, I will take a few weeks off from playing "Star Trek: Online".

    I am getting tired.

It hasn't. It's connecting, but it won't load the patch.

Two steps forward, one step back, still not functional.

Hi, I have been affected as well, stuck at "trying to connect to Cryptic Patch Server" or something. Then after a day I got the loading screen - veeeeery slow loading and then stuck as well. I have read some of the posts here so after I was lucky and the loading screen appeared, I changed the Proxy to EU in launcher Options + selected "PATCH through PROXY" settings even as that might get the patching slow and now I'm running better, it is not fast, but one gets in the game.

BTW: some posts here were a little negative about Cryptic Support being able to resolve it soon.... well, Iw you ever played on line game Command and Conquer Tiberium Alliances - there you would NOT HERE from SUPPORT the WHOLE YEAR!!!! They even don't admit there is a problem, nothing, in the contrary - they say that everything is fine and the fault is with players :))) So here it is definitelly BETTER :)

I was able to put in my account info, but "Patch" button is in blue and there is absolutely nothing to the left of the button to indicate that there is any type of patch actually happening. Not even a 0Kb/xxxKb, everything is grey.

Also, unable to access "Options", I click on it and NOTHING. The box that usually appears...well, it just does not come up when I click on "Options".

Wouldnt it be possible to enter the ip address for the server in windows' hosts file?
It could at least work as a temporary fix. Right?
So does anybody know the correct IP for patchserver?
