GWF=Aarin Gend and all the rest. Many games make this a "light fighter". Its nice to be able to get around the battle field and keep the attention. I had no problem keeping aggro, esp when first on the scene. No I didnt really cream anything, I left that for everyone else. I only made it to 15/16 but that was enough for me…
You will enjoy the foundry. I have found a couple of "talky" quest that were really wonderful. I too am old school and dropped DDO, but for other reasons. As time goes on the old timers are going to put in some seriously good campaigns. I can feel it. And there are enough of us who enjoy doing it that it should keep the…
I spent my day knocking back and freezing while I ran around exploding mobs with ice. Took a bit to figure out but it worked for me. I would like to see more aoe stuff like sleep and such.
i just want to say no raids for loot please! I like to go back to the playstation commercial where the kid is complaining about his grandma takin over his toy. The commentator is like "all she had to play with was a STICK"! and he just keeps repeating it every time the kid tries to make a point. Funny as hell! When I came…
Hey guys, went over to the site and didnt see in the faq a place to sign up. I had to highlight it to read it (old eyes) but perhaps I missed it. I was playing first edition back in the day and stayed with the various editions up to 3.5 in college. The groups I was with eventually disbanded due to distance and life mostly,…
I would say the rule change broke the monk out of 2-3. Original class rocked. Only stout players picked the class cause they died when you sneezed on them. But once you got to level 4 things pretty much took off. I know how you feel about the mage/monk thingy, (I for one was never a fan of the UO tank mage) but the game…
I just got off the game Ive been playing for the past few months. One cry I heard over and over is that people miss content on the way up the ladder. Granted, some people just zerg through the game, but many of us just wind up soloing content through, and are unable for whatever reason to complete larger group quests. It…
Well youre still gonna have people trolling for tanks/ blah blah blah. Thats the nature of mmos these days. Its best to play with your guildies or friends that are like minded individuals if youre lucky. SWTOR had early development vids that stressed the ability of all classes having adaptability. Those of us that got…
Like I said otherwise, there are some imaginative people here. I love all the ideas, many that I've played in PNP, much like many of you. You good folks crack me up. ;) Nuff Said!
Just going to reply about the traps. Good to see! but if you want to solo, dont solo those areas. Or, very simply be prepared to trigger, perceive, or otherwise circumvent. As well, as much as I hate to admit it, there's other ways of preventing zerging besides traps. Im just glad to see so many people posting happily…
For a while there Cryptic was De Rigeure when it came to character customization. But you're right about the hood/helm thing. I like the avatar thing that shows when you get a party or in your own character player screen. I dont care as long as my handle bar mustache shows!
All of it works for me. I mean, I would like to see both idea implemented. Why not have a buy back program for those ambitious enough to dig in. Of course, those developers should start looking out for their "cushy jobs"! j/k
I would like to keep separate characters for all that stuff. I COH I was in a guild, Alt Addicts! The best thing about that is you get to do all those things. I like pugs, keeps you on your toes. Most times if you don't expect too much going in, you get a lot more coming out. At least that works for me. I know how bad it…
Back when COH added the Architect thingy, they immediately got that crazy xp grind thing going. Now, a lot of people put it up like the tv model. If you dont like it, turn it off. Yea well it almost shut down the game. But because they have a real strong community over there, a lot of us left and played something else,…
heh, so true. Its the community that keeps away the problem children. We all have our favorite servers, and all remember early games like M59 that were P2P cause there was no other model. I can tell you, there were plenty of servers on those games that kept me a way, and kept me hopping from one to another until I found…
I think those abilities and spells would rock. Isnt this the same guys who put out CO? If indeed its the case, certainly they could do it. I took an acrobatic skill in that game that allowed me to run along side walls, do the spiderman type bounce off the ceiling and stuff. Or at least it looked that way. It would allow…
Im for shield and 1hblunt myself. Throw in a few cc spells and Im good. No paladin at launch eh? Too bad, nothing like saving your bros with that last ditch loh!
to those who feel like things aint they way they used to be... As mmos became more popular and more people saw the phat lewt at the end of the rainbow, everything has gotten watered down. Its the age old addage, "I walked three miles in the snow to school! Both ways, up hill, against the wind and in the dark!" I take…
Already I am starting to feel like I am not alone in this; and I am really just starting to get through the slog of posts. I see so far that there has been very few "promises" made, as it it so early. But the whole wash, rinse repeat thing so played. I want to have to think about whats going on, use the environment, and…
Can you start a guild? I WANT to have a mage that miscalculated the distance to the end of the hall and the lightening bolts came back and blasted the fighter in full plate. I want my monk to have a str of 3 and dex of 18 and be unstoppable I want my cleric to blast the HAMSTER out of things with column of fire and never…
Right there with you. Remember NWN on AOL? lol Darksun Online, all the rest.... the foundry should help, as long as they dont allow exp machines like they did in COH
I really hope they go for a similar combat system like Dragon Nest. I say that because not being fond of button mashing, I can actually play that game. Fast forward a few years from early action games like DDO and its finally nice to play some mmos were missile attacks dont go through walls, or whip around corners even…
Gotta agree with that. I still play both of those games since beta launch and theres a lot to be said for the small team. I mean, the largest party I ever played with in table top was eight people, so COH felt real familiar with that. Plenty of particle effects for eye candy there. Raids are just a slog, and I don't feel…
