I'm not. It's bad design; full stop. Having to leave and reset your progress on the map isn't a "screw you because Hell" situation, it's a "you're screwed because of a bug" situation.
The entire campaign is now archived on Youtube. Regrettably I never did go back and finish the final quest, but I did do a video run through of the partial maps I'd completed and will, at some point, add some text explaining what my plan was and upload that as well.
With the Foundry's demise, I'm archiving my quests via Youtube. I've only got three uploaded so far (though the rest have already been captured via FRAPS), but the playlist is here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLl2aLEJMSbYikY7nb4XXM_CngaVXbbx6F
Oh wow, they're going seriously old-school with the story in this one. All the way back to 1992: http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/The_Ring_of_Winter_(novel)
Also, the ton of devils I made for one of my quests: Assassin Devil: Burning Devil: Pain Devil: Rage Devil: Seared Devil: Storm Devil: Vizier Devil: War Devil:
You would have to make one objective to get that custom ring item, then set both bosses to drop it, and use some sort of non-objective means to force the player to choose one or the other.
It was certainly different, I'll give you that. Different, ambitious (in a good way), and yeah, as Tipa said, a bit too long. I played it through twice (once in the non-featured version, then again when it was featured), and got very similar endings. The first time I partied with the orcs, killed the hound and the wizard,…
Even I can't argue with that one. Thanks for the high praise! I'm also entertained by all the comments telling me that it feels like an actual D&D adventure, since my entire quest series (including this one) is somewhat loosely based on the first campaign I ever ran.
...Which comes right back to the point about needing to concretely demonstrate that improvements to the Foundry are financially viable and provide a good return of investment.
Time to post my reviews for the final batch of quests: You Cant Call Yourself That - 3/5 What the hell did I just play? Mad props for all the different ways of solving puzzles and different endings, but the tone and setting just weren't really my thing. Assault on Pyremourne - 5/5 An engaging story, great maps, and…
Cryptic is a business. The entire goal is, ultimately, to make money. And for any business, it can be difficult to justify spending money on something that's not going to make any money back. I get that you want more free Foundry content; so do I. But complaining about how the devs won't work on the Foundry because it…
Looks like only three quests are featured this week. Guess that means it's definitely the last week. One of them is mine, though, so I'm pretty excited to see how it does.
Finally finished playing through this week's quests (and it looks like Cult of the Dragon: Blue finally made it out of the review tab). Here's my thoughts: Arselu'Tel'Quess - 5/5 Amazing map construction, with a killer story drawing from plenty of lore. A Call for Heroes - 5/5 I honestly wasn't really sold on the premise…
I'm not so sure; when you review a quest a second time, it overwrites your original review and gives the new one a new date. Presumably the new review would still count, though I suppose we don't really have any way to know for sure.
