That's true, but Cryptic is owned by Perfect World Entertainment (PWE), which I....think is USA based. It's like the company Perfect World proper does its western business through if I understand the structure. Can anybody clarify that?

In my experience the control wizard's options open up a lot as you get to higher levels. Also, they'll DESTROY you in PvP. My DPS rogue isn't any good if she's frozen/strangled to death before she gets close. It's not a straightforward class, but it's certainly a powerful one.
I think there are some valid concerns here, but I also agree that things get better at higher levels. Additionally, it's been my experience that the control wizard really shines in group play. When you're not the only thing drawing all the aggro your control effects get a lot more useful in that context.
Well, as you said, you have a dated GPU. It's not up to specs.
