You guys are going in the absolute wrong direction with this game. Further nerfing all of these ques is just going to drive players into the DR content, which you should know full well by now, NONE OF US WANT TO PLAY. Stop trying to restrict players by reducing rewards and making the game into a grind fest, all you are…
Thats it, I'm done. PWE will not see another dollar of mine. Crafting was the LAST *casual* part of this game; 334 is ridiculous. Games are supposed to be fun, not a grind, and that is all STO is at this point. I'd advise the rest of you to take a similar stance; maybe loss of income will actually get the Devs to listen…
Thank you for the quick reply. I was somewhat mollified to see the price increase (as, in my opinion, the time/reward ratio for fleet gear is pretty bad to begin with), and I'm glad to see you guys correcting that issue. I understand time-for-gear and I understand you guys need to make your money, but running fleet weapons…
DSDs are not at all *true* science ships; they are destroyers, designed to both damage and support. That being said, I've found that they work far better in a Tactical role then anything else, and thats exclusively for PvE. Don't get me wrong, they are nice ships, but not really anything I'd call a traditional science…
Since I posted it, I've swapped out the Engy layout to EPtW1 + EptS2. And I do use CSV2, its in the STO academy layout :D Good suggest on the science layout, though, I'm going to experiment with it like that and see what happens.
/side note, I also have the JHAS pets unlocked (and I'm not too much a fan of space-richness in this form). Anyway, I get what you guys are saying; if Cryptic unlocked the JHAS for everyone, it'd TRIBBLE off the people that ground out the JHAS. That makes pretty good sense to me. So no unlocking JHAS pets. ...but why can't…
Hanger vs Hanger, Fer'Jai will blow anything else out of the water...lol The only pets in the game that can hold the Fer'Jais (damage wise) are Scorpions, Mesh Weavers, and Drone Ships. Everything else its just overshadowed by how much firepower those Fer'Jai have.
Swapped over to a Fleet Galaxy Dread from my Fleet Avenger a few weeks back, haven't quite come up with a build for it yet. Galaxy X has ideal BoFF layout for Aux2Batt so I went with that route. In addition, phaser damage is ideal because of the Lance. I decided to make use of the Cloak since its a neat toy few ships can…
BUT, on the off chance that Cryptic does give Battle Cloak to the Federation, I'd ask that the Federation also receive Elite Fleet Disruptors, Nausicaan BoFFs, Superior Romulan Operatives, account-wide unlock Plasmonic Leechs, and Singularity Cores... ...for the sake of "fairness". #sarcasm
This again? Really? Will you all ever learn to let this stuff go? #1: Federation (Starfleet) cloaks are NOT canon. The only *canon* Starfleet cloaks (that can be applied to STO...) are those of the Defiant and the Galaxy X. Both Cloaks are accessible in-game via the Cloaking Device console. Both canon ships have their…
@hpgibbs I've been trying the FAW3/APB1+AB3 setup you suggested for a little bit now. I've noticed a pretty impressive DPS boost; got me up to 17k just with that change alone. I've also slotted the ZPM; not noticing much of an increase in power levels (I'm an Engineer with all engineer traints + plasmonic leech, so power…
If you look closely, the Emitter Arrays are actually Embassay consoles (there was just no option in Academy for Embassay consoles); each adds Partgens and Plasma Damage. Good call on the Romulan two set. I'll add the Zero-Point Conduit in there someplace, probably in place of a Neutronium Alloy. Not sure how I feel about…
S'Golth is hands down one of the toughest most versatile escorts in the game.. Its comparable to the Mobius, and both ships have advantages, but personally I've found the S'Golth to be a better option due to its much higher shield modifier.
IF you have the Bugship, sell it; its not worth keeping. Don't get me wrong, its a solid ship, but nowhere near good enough to be worth passing up the money you can make selling it off. Keep the Dreadnought Carrier. All things said and done its one of the meanest, most up-front powerful ships in the game. I run beams and…
It depends. In a straight up PvE shootout, the Bug holds the edge thanks to higher offensive potential. In PvP its close. The Bug is faster and has more damage potential, but the Hunter is far tougher and has a console that can be a game-ender in PvP.
I own all of those ships. The Fleet Nebula and Fleet Intrepid are both great, but more suited to PvP (in my opinion) unless you plan to use Science Powers in an offensive role. The Wells is a great ship, and really has no general setbacks. The Solanae and Vesta are both squishy and (again, in my opinion) poor choices. You…
That is inaccurate; only certain ships require T5 fleets, and (unless I am mistaken), none of the free "200,000 fleet credit" ships are included in that. The only ships that require T5 are the Fleet Assault Cruiser and the Fleet Heavy Escort Carrier, both of which cost 4 fleet modules and thus don't count as "free".
Yes to Dreadnoughts, no to EC ships. I get sick of people asking for "cheaper" ships in game. The reason STO is as good as it is, is because people pay lots and lots of money for those ships. If they become easy to get, Cryptic gets less money, they invest less in STO, it starts to suck, etc... There are plenty of end-game…
Unfortunately, you cannot equip Plasma Quads on the Avenger. The Ar'Kif is a Warbird, and can only be requisitioned by Romulan players, meaning a Federation player in an Avenger cannot claim them. In reverse, the Avenger is a T5 Federation ship, meaning that a Romulan player cannot claim it to use with the Quad Cannons. :/
Anyway, a few thoughts for y'all. First off, Tetryon. I get people are not too big on it, but it really isn't as *bad* as you'd think. If you spec into Flow Capacitors, and maybe invest in some Nukara equipment, Tetryon can be quite lethal. Refracting/Fleet Tetryon especially (not so much Phased Tetryons, which do indeed…
At this point, I'd agree that phaser is probably the worst damage type in game since its hard to modify... Tetryon, on the other hand, I'd have to disagree with. If you spec into Flow Capacitors...that stuff hurts! haha.
I bought them a while back and through them on a FHEC for testing purposes. I was honestly surprised by how well they performed, and still use them to this day. They are notably tougher then Peregrines/fighters in general; they can survive some warp core breeches, and are also capable of surviving FAW 1/2 and Gravity Well…
Wow, thanks to everyone who posted the tooltips and screenshots, nice to see some hard numbers out there! :) Looks like Disruptors are the king of the hill these days, with Antiproton and Polaron closely behind, and Plasma a bit behind those. Hmmm...
Depends entirely on what you are doing. The MVAE is an escort, pure and simple. The Solanae is a science ship with escort capability. If you want to deal damage and ONLY deal damage, roll the MVAE. If you want to deal a little less damage with a side of healing, debuffing, or crowd-control, the Solanae is the ship for you.…
