Jem'Hadar Bug Vs the Hirogen Escort

Hello everyone! I wanted to ask a question and see what you guys thought. What do you think is better? The Jem'Hadar Attack Ship or the Hirogen Hunter Heavy Escort? I currently have the Hirogen Escort and I enjoy using it. I am working my way towards a Jem'Hadar Attack Ship, but it'll still be awhile (unless I'm lucky). I was wondering if it was worth it? Technically speaking, if I got the right gear, my Hirogen should be tougher than most bugs. My Hirogen can run a mean Aux2Bat with its setup, but I'm not a fan of Aux2Bat. I know Bug pilots are able to sqeeze out more DPS due to the fifth tac console, but since running aux2bat isn't ideal on a bug ship, I feel that the two ships cancel out in dps because I can run better copies of APO and CRF. And I actually have room for heals. Any opinions about the two ships would be nice! Just mainly wondering if I the bug ship really offers more than what my Hirogen Ship can offer.

By the way here is my boff layout right now.

Commander tac is - TT1, APD1, CRF2, APO3.
Lt. Commander Engi - EPE 1, Aux2Bat1, EPS3
Ensign - Tractor Beam 1
Lt. Sci- HE1, ST2
Lt. Engi - ET1, Aux2BAt1

Maybe that'll help a little. Thanks for you feedback!

Aux2Batt builds on escort-type ships are usually overrated since A2B is best employed on engineering-heavy ships to overcome the limited tactical options available. That said, if there was any escort that had both its strengths and weaknesses tailored towards running an Aux2Batt build, it would be the Hirogen Hunter. Heck, if you've got Marion you can even run DEM3 and trade healing/resists for even more crazy weapon power.

Without an Aux2Batt build, the Hunter is a closer comparison to the Destroyers and the Steamrunner instead, in which case the Bug outclasses it in pure DPS thanks to the extra tac consoles.

Here's the build page for my hybrid A2B/A2D "beam-scort" Hirogen Heavy:

Note: The above build has proven to be quite effective in PvP (eats bug ships for breakfast). And for PvE, I just swap out the Acc x3 weps for Fleet Acc x2/Dmg x2, switch to my second Romulan Boff with APB1, and rack up the DPS.

Best beam-scort platform out there...and nasty with cannons, too. ;)

Personally, I love my Jem'Hadar attack ship.

Very strong build, can pack a serious punch. With this build, you've gotta be a little smarter with how you use it (Didn't set up A2B on it. overrated)

Bug ship..though its not a fair comparison, the risian corvette is a better comparison with the hirogen and id take that over almost any other fed side escort in the game.

Imo i think the risian corvette is severely underated. I ran it as a beamscort last year, realised how lame it was and quickly changed back to cannons lol...fun ship.

Statistically, I think the Hirogen Escort is a great ship, though the slower speed is a bit interesting. Still maneuverable.

I think the only reason you don't see it and the other Hirogen ships as much is how terrible Hirogen ships look.

It depends. In a straight up PvE shootout, the Bug holds the edge thanks to higher offensive potential.

In PvP its close. The Bug is faster and has more damage potential, but the Hunter is far tougher and has a console that can be a game-ender in PvP.
