I would have thought they would do that too but there's been 2 Sompek events since the Sompek Pulsewave was offered in 2017 and it still hasn't been added. Of the 4 Sompek prizes so far only the pulsewave isn't in the event store.
That timer is a pain in the lobes but I get around it by leaving my toon logged in when I'm not playing. The AFK timer kicks me out after an hour so I need to do this twice to finish the timer. Now if Cryptic would just let the timer count down without having to be logged in AND in space I wouldn't have to spend those 2…
I'm not sure if this is related, but i saw a female toon wearing a new style costume jacket with circles on the shoulders and a skirt with cutouts on the hips. They looked Solanae styled to me, does anyone know if they are new costume options that come with the environment suits?
I suppose we can rationalize the similar look of the ships by considering the original TOS Enterprise. It was refit for The Motion Picture and looked completely different inside and out. These Dyson Science Destroyers appear to be refits of ships each faction already had using material salvaged from the sphere. What we…
I don't doubt it. PVE content is pretty easy; it's sad that creating a good skill build, which is a big part of the fun in other MMOs, is practically irrelevant in STO. This relates directly to the thread in your sig about damage getting out of control. It makes the skill tree irrelevant when all we're doing is fill in the…
I can confirm that the nano-pulse melee weapons don't benefit from physical damage boost. I tried it with a physical augmentation armour and saw no increase. However it does benefit from the Romulan plasma weapon trait. I tried that by taking the trait at Subcommander and checking the nano-pulse before and after.
TBH I'm not that well versed in all the powers and their value, these are just examples I came up with from the top of my head. We can come up with as many examples as there are reasons to respec! IMHO, free or cheap respecs would be even better than skill slots but I doubt we'd get that. I do know that I'd be more…
At the start of the race you can actually start running before the Race Coordinator counts down to "GO". At about "2" you're no longer held and can start running. In this game I always walk by holding the two mouse buttons and steering with the mouse, tap SHIFT to run, and let go of the mouse buttons to stop running. It's…
Cryptic certainly won't make the photos account bound, but I think they could make the unboxed ship account bound. So instead of grinding out a Breen ship on ALL toons just in case we might want it, we can just do the race only as often as we want and not have to decide right now which toon gets the ship. Same goes for the…
Another thing to note, the 10% bonus from the Ferengi set shows up on the assignment screen (for example, a 100 CXP assignment will show that it awards 110 CXP). The 20% bonus from the CXP booster is only seen when you turn in the assignment. And yes, both bonuses do stack.
Rule 177: Know your enemies...but do business with them always. Rule 109: Dignity and an empty sack...is worth the sack. Rule 50: Never bluff a Klingon.
1. Don't us a rental - like someone else said, get a permanent floater from the vendor near this event's mission giver. The one for 50 Lohlunat will do fine. 2. For 5 Lohlunat buy any food item from the event reputation store. Feed it to a tribble and breed a special event tribble that will help you control of your floater…
I must say I really like the Tholian tie-in with the crystalline entity! I'm looking forward to future storylines to reveal their relationship to the entity and their reason for protecting it. Perhaps when beefing up the encounter's difficulty the tholians themselves can play a part. Like using an energy beam (HE or TSS)…
Not really, but this thread does support my argument that smaller fleets are suffering due to the inequity of effort needed to build up a starbase. People are abandoning their fleets to join larger ones to avoid the heavy grind. By the way, I just offer ideas because it's an interesting topic and I like this game. I myself…
What good is a fleet to a single person? What would he or she really get for "free" by building up a starbase using a small stipend alone? It would take a single player a very very long time to get access to anything at all. Even with a stipend building up a starbase is still a grindfest, but a little extra dil would take…
Here's another idea: All fleets get a daily stipend of dilithium that go towards projects, say 10,000 per day. This would be a trivial bonus for a large fleet but a great one for a small fleet, yet still fair since ALL fleets get the same stipend. Think of it as your starbase has a "miner" working for it in the background…
@cptvanor - I never said smaller fleets were ALWAYS better, I said they often were. I also never asked to "be treated better" or for anything for myself, I merely posed a question. I just checked out the thread Valoreah posted above, I see you vented the same rage there as well. I think neither large nor small fleets…
This is exactly what I'm talking about. Smaller fleets are often better for the players and the game as a whole. Their creation and persistence should be better promoted by the game itself, not hobbled by it in favour of larger fleets.
I agree, they have every right to do with their larger fleet what they want. I'm just saying that there's now a disincentive for people to contribute to a smaller fleet, or to even start a fleet in the first place.
To further this thought, I'd give each career a 'major' and a 'minor', to reflect the officer's education at the academy. Here are some more ideas I had for ground abilities: Tactics major: DPS buff allies, "red shirt" ensign companion (like a BOFF but an always available 'combat pet', even in areas where BOFFs are…
I'd like them to split each of the existing player careers into the same categories that duty officers have: Tactical: tactical officer, security officer Engineering: engineer, operations officer Science: science officer, medic They could add a whole lot of fun stuff to the game by doubling the careers available and adding…
