  • If it happens at all, it'll probably be during this years Risa event.
  • Damn it, that actually made sense... From one Starfleet Engineer to another, cheers! ;P
  • I am quite pleased that there's no partially undone zipper.
  • Don't gripe because RNGeebus is not favoring you ATM. There are a lot of us in that boat with you.
  • This was really good, I've got a good feeling about this season.
  • That's kind of the point.
  • I still don't understand this fascination with the idea that exploration is center of Star Trek and all this other stuff we do just gets in the way. The exploration that Star Trek was designed to do, from it's very inception, was to provide socially conscious commentary(but not SJW type ranting) on events of the day in a…
  • It should be noted that the "K'Vort" exists because the motors that raised and lowered the B'rel's wings were broken by the time they got around to filming those scenes.
  • My question is how do you represent being Trans in a video game(or in real life for that matter) where the choice of basic body type is binary? Other than using the character tool to create a highly masculine female or a highly feminized male, the difference between Trans and non-Trans is, and likely always will be,…
  • The saucer looks fine. Nice even. But the secondary hull is horrific and will NEVER forgive them for using 1950s era Chrysler tail fins for nacelles. I have seen better and more interesting ship designs used as one offs and never seen again. It's either fake, and we'll see the real one later or it's real, which shows the…
  • The sounds are the best part. The 24th/25th Century are all so...polite with their soft tone(you can't even call them a proper beep for God's sake). Whereas the TOS computers are just heavy duty, every button not only has a proper beep or buzz, but you can hear the fracking relay cycle. I love it!
  • It seems small until you consider that they added a TON of voice work. All the new missions are largely VOed and a lot of the older ones that I haven't done in a while are as well.
  • As has been noted, you can get all the dual beam phasers you want from episode replays of "Everything Old is New". I've been running a full set of classic phasers for a couple years now. They are a TRIBBLE to upgrade though.
  • I guess, but I don't see them adding a "Cyborg" race type for one doff.

  • I always thought Gomtuu looked like a high tech pine cone myself.
  • Classically, meaning when the terms came into modern parlance, a Dreadnought was just an upgunned cruiser with thicker armor and somewhat fewer small caliber rifles along her flanks. When you think of the biggest, baddest warships circa WW2, it's probably a dreadnought. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dreadnought A…
  • Have you lost your mind? The original Constitution's slender, long lines have always made her the sexiest girl at the party. The new one has...cankles?
  • I'll be honest, at 38 years old with a shoddy memory and the sheer ubiquity of Star Trek in my life, I can't remember a time when I wasn't a fan, maybe when I was very small. I'll just say that I was a big fan of Star Trek before there was a TNG and I do remember being hyped out of my skull for TNG in '87.
  • Which doesn't leave a lot of hope for Captain Shon and Co. does it? Additionally, on the topic of the "J", the designer is on record in multiple places talking about how they only had like 4 days to work up a design. So of course they didn't really have the time to work on fine details. Besides, if it was as powerful as it…
  • The first Earth ship to actually be designed for deep space travel, the NX series, was very nearly the equal of any of the other races ships. Additionally, with the formation of the Federation, Starfleet expanded to become the defacto naval service for all of the member worlds. So it would be logical to say that Fed…
  • I've always thought you want to keep the KCB no matter what.
  • Here's the thing, this particular story isn't the place for such navel gazing. Some people really are as bad as their press and reputations suggestion. In this case, Vosk and his sycophants are the literal 30th century equivalent to the National Socialist German Na'Khul Workers' Party, they have used propaganda and…
  • I have uploaded a dump with the ID 50696899
  • The only issue I forsee with this is that we've only ever seen the Kumari from Enterprise and we already have that. The Andorians are like the Vulcans at this point, their individual space forces are largely folded into Starfleet. I'm sure there are regional concerns building long haul freighters and transports, but there…
  • I dig that the Assembly is actually ALL the Tholians from across several alternate dimensions. You have to remember though, the Tholians are the only truly alien minds that the Feds, Klinks and others deal with on a regular basis. They aren't even remotely humanoid and don't have humanoid foibles, unlike literally EVERYONE…
  • Well, they are universal. Most universal slots are ensign anyway, so it would not be a huge increase in power, but you could still restrict it to command/intel/pilot ships that already have a higher grade boff chair.
  • I dig the Snoconian. It got a giggle out of my GM. But in regards to the Rezrath and it's redsign: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=os6Ql3-XWSM
  • This is the problem though, Fed frigates have all been represented as independent, long duration Starships, not short range interplanetary ships. It should be some thing a bigger than a Danube but smaller than the Miranda. Frankly, just a more tactical runabout class would probably be better. Sticking with the river theme…
  • Hmm, I'd like it to have a similar layout to the Kitty Carrier with 4 total boffs, LTC Tac, LTC Engi, Comm Sci and LT Sci. Basically the kitty carrier with slightly less science and slightly more tac.
  • *blech* There's always one... My, aren't we a jaundiced cynical hipster in need of a cause. In point of fact, Cryptic does a fine job with the game given it's history before it got dumped in their laps. And they've demonstrated, on multiple occasions, that they are fairly large fans of the show and giant nerds to boot.
