  • [QUOTE="chastity1337;c-13707023"] Absolutely, completely agreed. I have never liked the new DS9 just because it's too SMALL. They spent resources and time on that better used elsewhere, and trumpeted it to the skies like it was such a great accomplishment, but I liked the older one better because it was more…
  • [quote="chastity1337;c-13707023"][quote="postagepaid;c-13706938"]The DS9 scans are made worse by the way they shrank the entire station to be more like the show but ignoring the fact that the show could remove stuff out of the way of the camera and that the ceilings were never so low that taller characters like worf had to…
  • Just so. The whole TFO design was focused way to much on the time gates and way to little on the actual gameplay. -R
  • To each their own, I thought the music was the best part of the TFO. Guess I just have a soft spot for MIDI tracks. As for the mission itself, it's yet another time-gated, repetitious click fest. As far as those go, this one wouldn't be bad if it weren't for the constant bugging. Ironically, they need to add a timer to the…
  • Thanks for the clarifications, Kael, they definitely help. I'm not keen on yet more limited-time-offer phoenix nonsense or tier 7 ships, but there are worse ways to have handled this. -R
  • Add me to the list annoyed by the change. Rearranging inventories is a pain on its own, but bloated UI elements are even worse. If adding tabs forces the inventory panel to be larger, they should figure out how to fit the tabs into a smaller space. That way it will scale up as they continue to add tabs.
  • Pretty much. It's not even clear to me if this will balance the economy. If the majority of dilithium comes from alt-Admiralty ToDs, AND if the hardcore farmers can't find an alternate activity that comes close, this should reduce the amount of dilithium entering the economy, which should in turn drive the price up…
  • This seems to be correct. Between the reduced lump sum for completing the Event and the slower rate of increase, the new setup seems to decrease to total Dilithium payout until well after the offer is over. Fairly consistent with the way they've been trying to wring more monetization from the game, but no less…
  • Objection, your honor! Playing internet lawyer is 12.8% of what the internet is for! But seriously, ignoring legality entirely, I find the Mudd store... offensive. It reminds me of when Stephen Colbert would make a big show of shamelessly promoting some gag item on the Colbert Report: I get the joke, but I can't help but…
  • I think it would be more in classic Mudd style if we wind up taking the items we want for free and punishing Mudd in some cruel yet poetically just manner. I eagerly await this feature in the Mudd store. -R
  • Ah, good suggestion. It looks like the Lukari BOFFs go straight to the storage and will not go to inventory the way normal BOFFs do. Good to know. Thanks! -R
  • So, a month and a half later... nothing has changed. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or are those BOFF slots just lost forever? -R
  • I have room in my inventory. I have spare room for general DOFFs, Prisoner and Civilians. I've never tried specifically changing maps, but it has happened consistently over several weeks on various different maps so I don't think can be it. -R
  • Removing the Save/Load options is simply unacceptable. It's way too tedious to write down all the variables when you want to reuse a uniform, and that happens all the time - especially if I want my bridge officers to look like we serve together! Beyond that, I'm struggling to see much actual improvement here. The UI is…
  • I guess that could make sense but it just seems so... forced. -R
  • At the start of the first mission I had a brief hope Tilly might actually be sincere in her desire to defect; that would at least be a different story. But no, it's every bit the transparent ruse we all knew it would be, and of course we fall for it completely. Indeed, we hold the idiot ball so hard we actually waste our…
  • Ugh. Discovery is a show I neither like nor respect. Basing content on that feels like a complete waste of time and money. That's made doubly so since the events of that show take place nearly 200 years before the game and are so irrelevant they've never even been mentioned before. Yay. Also, I had been enjoying the ViL…
  • Since the goal of the Arena is to 'go the distance,' it's an absolutely terrible choice for a per-character unlock. To me, this ruins most of the fun of the original event. Bleh. -R
  • Honestly, I'm not sure what the point of the new system was. In theory it allows you finer control over the queues you're looking at. But the UI is so badly thought out, I'm extremely skeptical anyone is actually better off. There are gigantic amounts of space dedicated to irrelevant pictures while the parts you might…
  • I, too, miss the cursor. -R
  • Echo isn't bad, but it doesn't really interest me. Charlie is cool, but it just seems too... sleek, maybe? for a first starship. Alpha has the right mix of neat design and clunky style for the first steps into the cosmos (though it could stand to be a bit bulkier), so it gets my vote. -R
  • That would explain why I couldn't find the ship on my new alt. Blast. Wish I'd unlocked it yesterday. -R
  • I'd be happy to see hybrid armament flourish, but I agree with amayakitsune that the current design is bad. If people don't want to use both, forcing them to waste one pick on the other is just going to annoy them. Gaining powers on level up is cool; being forced to spend that power on a feat tax you'll never lose is…
  • The problem that creates is that it means the temporal shields (or the shielding effect of the temporal core, if you prefer) can be easily bypassed. We know the Annorax was parked at the research station when we went to confront Noye the first time. So all we need to do is go back in time again, board the Annorax, and…
  • He's dead yes, but what happens to the timeline INSIDE the temporal shields? Temporal shields seem to protect the enclosed space from external changes to the timeline, but it's highly unclear how they would work against internal changes. The problem is that while temporal shields need to be external to the timeline to…
  • Good point, but it does raise a very bad question: what if we go back in time and board the Annorax before Noye raises the shields, then shoot him with the shields up? Maybe the universe would just explode. -R
  • Funny story. I actually went back in time to help them build one. Sadly, I then turned it on. :-( But seriously, reading this announcement is painful. On the one hand it's an idea with meat, and it does make for an excellent anniversary tribute. But I'm sorry, there's no way even the best writer can make an ongoing time…
  • The new one does look more like a Breen design, but I just can't unsee the silly-graspy-claw when I look at it. The old one looks like a starship. -R
