Cannot Recruit Bridge Officers from Stores

radonneradonne Member Posts: 32 Arc User
My main had four free Bridge Officer slots and I wanted to try one of the Lukari BOs, but I could not buy one of them from the store. The error message said I had no room.

I had the same problem with all the other stores I tried, even though I clearly had four free slots. I was able to recruit new BOs from my inventory, but even after filling the four slots and emptying one it still says I have no room when I try to recruit one from a store.

My best guess is that there are different ways to check for BO slots; the inventory uses one way and the stores use another. I'm hoping there's an easy fix for this.

First of all, is your inventory full? Secondly, if you have the max amount of duty officers (I know you are talking about BOFFs, I am just troubleshooting) filled for Prisoners and Colonists, that might also be affecting you even though you indeed have room. Also, have you changed maps to see if that changes things? Thanks. :)

I have room in my inventory. I have spare room for general DOFFs, Prisoner and Civilians. I've never tried specifically changing maps, but it has happened consistently over several weeks on various different maps so I don't think can be it.

Your problem might also be due to the return of the DOFF binding bug.

So, a month and a half later... nothing has changed. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or are those BOFF slots just lost forever?

One thing I didn't see asked/mentioned: Is there room in your Boff Candidate inventory? (it's under the 'stations' tab.) If that's not full, then for better or worse, if it's an account glitch/bug of some type, putting in a Support Ticket is probably your best option at this point:

I totally forgot to mention that they should look at their BOFF candidate storage. Oops.

Yes, usually it's the BOFF candidate storage (max 15) that will keep you from buying new BOFFs. If it's full, I'd suggest converting some to Training Manuals to clear some space.

Ah, good suggestion. It looks like the Lukari BOFFs go straight to the storage and will not go to inventory the way normal BOFFs do. Good to know.

    Thanks!
