...hahahahahahahaha. I Consistently place near the top of DPS in the larger fleet PVE combats and i run a 3 HC 1 Dual escort with Overload 2 and 3. Torpedos require several secondary skills and speccing for both of them is very difficult without sacrificing other critical skills. Beam Overload hits like a truck and takes…
This whole thing solidifies in granite who really made the season 7 decision. Cryptic is nothing but a Game Making meat Puppet. PWE is the REAL offender here. If ARC becomes required for STO i will delete characters and leave this game in the rear view for good.
At this point its just because there are so many ships to choose from everyone wants their 'perfect' But i'll say this. If the next ships are not a new weight class of ship to deal with the threat of undine planet killers i'm gonna be disappointed.
Uhh...you're scale needs re-checking. I fly one of the smallest ships around (Fleet Tact escort retro) I have one of the better perspectives on ship sizes. Honestly the ships dont feel large enough when compared to mine. I only have 50 crew yet i'm even remotely close to the size of an Oddy or Galaxy class? Have you seen…
The problem here becomes armor. IN ST ships there is significantly LESS armor than in SW ships. A hundred fighters might not have the firepower in their individual weapons to break THROUGH the larger armor. Remember Destroyers have many point defense weapons and tractor beam arrays that would allow them to pin down ships.…
Actually not so much. As large as the starbase is depending on the length and width it can exceed spacedock parameters. You may have noticed during TNG that the enterprise D actually as big as it was for its time was a pretty tight fit getting in there. The Oddy is a MONSTER of a ship remember.
You're talking about a massive part of the leveling process. It is good to see where you came from to be honest even if things get shifted along the way. You would have to rewrite the entire plot essentially. Everything you did builds UP to this point. Only vice admiral game players really should be getting the scope of…
Given the buildup to get to this point and the ground work laid down. Iconians are going to be a long term threat. Lasting several more seasons at least 3 if not 4 full seasons of gameplay in combating this threat. We're not even in head on confrontations yet. Then there's the trouble of actually FINDING them. There is no…
Baaaaaa Was at the time. big time. Nope. I was one of the people who crunched the numbers. It wasnt just players being inactive that caused the price of zen to drop so low. Like a good brainless sheeple you werent looking. No. He really doesnt do such things. And that you would claim he does shows not only your lack of…
Yep. Reputation system wrecked every STF that was in play at that point. Which mainly at the time meant Omega/Borg farming. Which at the time players thought was just fine prefering RNG on their timetable rather than the game's Reputation Time Table. DoFF's got axed to the point of farming them becoming pointless. (They…
I know it hit 50. I was there for it. Thought it might have gotten to 35 at the way it had been going but i didn't stick around for it. I left for a good long while.
I hate to do this to you but: That wasn't a super. That was an Imperial star destroyer. Second grade of the three grades of destroyer. (Victory which is the smallest) Imperial which is what's used in Episode 4 (first shot) And Super Revealed in 5 and 6. There was only one super in the battle of Endor and that didnt go down…
In Straight Space Strength of Arms Empire. Star Trek ship sizes do not compare to Star wars sizes and armor means everything in a fight like this. Even with their shields disabled Star Destroyers take incredible amounts of punishment. The bridge kill that took out the Imperial Star Destroyer in 6 (The small ones are called…
I got a fluidic 12 off the market stupid cheap. (Purple no less) Honestly the kit wont be the problem. It'll be the modules. A lot of work ahead to get the reputation to advance further up the chain. It would be nice if the amount of dailys that actually grant rep go up. Or at least add reputation to building items. Having…
He calls 138 cheap...hahahahaha. You werent around for season 7's launch. Now THAT was cheap zen. 35:1 i think it got down to... or was it 50. Of course with the bonus the odds of the cost going up are actually slim without an update to refinement. More dilithium out there doesnt do a thing with the 8k rule it just allows…
Nope. This game survived season 7 and the ultimate stealth update. Cryptic believes it can do no wrong and until less than 1k people log on and do things they're probably right. Sorry but not enough people left the game in season 7 to bring this rotten mass down around Cryptic's head. Lots did, but not enough.
Agreed. The scale of Federation ships will change RADICALLY based off the plotline. We're due for far bigger ships since they have the frigate class covered with ships like the Tact Escort.
Not sure the Oddy is the choice you want. But i can see why you'd say that. It however does NOT change the need for an entry into the Super Capital Class of starships.
Yes you have. But you're thinking of a different kind of ship all together. Naval Vessels almost never had forward guns until the advent of modern weapons. With the design of most cruisers i've been wondering if someone would finally have the smarts to put turrets on the sides of a ship (as potentially a special module or…
New question... Was THAT an Iconian? Or did we get a possible new player in the 8472 conflict? 8472 space is not small...its its OWN FRIGGIN DIMENSION. So we can safely assume galaxy like size levels. Could we have only been dealing with a FACTION of the forces within 8472? And this New Being is infact with THEM?!
I'm thinking not quite that big but definitely bigger than anything the ST universe as seen before Our fleet isnt the biggest and we're pretty close to full fleet construction. I get the problems you're seeing but i can not see a threat like this being handled fully without a new ship type one the ST universe has been…
As one who wants a greater challenge in general this can be a good thing. But getting consistently facerolled by a boss leads to pugs fleeing in terror and a lot of complaining. Balancing the Challenge levels with the skill levels of the players is one of the toughest needles to thread and i prefer to side with the…
Could roll with that. But i don't go with the theory of De-evolution. That doesn't make any sense to me. I prefer the Forced Ascension angle in which not everyone goes up. And when earth suffers its ice age everything is just flat lost. And Temporal mechanics deal with the timeframe imo as they just start living anywhere…
'Any sufficiently advanced technology can be considered magic.' To this i site an entirely different path in general on the possiblity they ARE actually iconians. http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1093781 I even give a possible foundation for the Q race. Note everything i've stated does not bring the Tal…
Fleet ship. Leveled spire and max starbase required. 20k fleet credits 2 FSM if you do. Its pretty cheap. But its only 3/3 weapons compared to 4/4 of the mission ship.
The role matters. In that he was NOT playing Data. Some actors dont like their roles for a multitude of reasons. There's a real chance that Brent simply just did not LIKE being data and would not do so again unless it was for a significantly higher amount of money than before. He was on Enterprise as well and played a…
Dont know what it means mechanically. Yet. But this finally means a united front against several big enemies. Can anyone doubt at this point we're heading into a head first fight with the Iconians? I have a theory that's gonna be pretty big so i'm gonna post it elsewhere. ;)
The ground work has quite frankly been laid for something even more powerful than the Bort. The storyline has evolved to a point where even carriers and their 3k crew loads may not be enough. In the face of the deployment of Planet Killing class vessels (Something no one in ST canon has ever employed outside of the…
