Get your Zen while it's Cheap! - Only a few days till bonus Dilithium!

spacebaronlinespacebaronline Member Posts: 1,103 Arc User
Currently Zen cost 138 - but starting this Thursday May 1st the Dilithium Train arrives!

50% bonus dilithium only a week into a new season with lots of players back - could see Zen above 160 for the first time in a long time.

I would not be shocked to see a few new C-store ships released soon - it's been a few months since the Dyson super pack.

I would love a 3 pack which was:

1 Starfleet
1 KDF
1 Romulan

Now that would be my perfect 3 pack.

People will soon be rolling in dilithium and there have been no new fleet dilithium sinks added this season(thank you cryptic). So what are people to do with the massive dilithium they can make this coming Thurs to Mon?

If you increase the supply of something in general what people pay for it goes down. Which is exactly what will happen.

    The logic is:

More dilitium-->more people buy Zen with dilithium-->dilithium price goes up.

A reasonable chain of events. However, this could also happen:

More dilithium-->fewer people buy zen with dilithium-->dilithium price goes down.

After all, we're in the middle of a zen sale right now.

    Alternatively:

More dilithium-->no change in zen purchases with dilithium-->dilithium price stays the same.

You're pretty much having a zen and a dill "sale" at almost the same time. So supply and demand get boosted both. Might go up a bit, might go down a bit. But certainly nowhere near 20dill/zen

Ships will probably happen mid to late May, eh? Maybe early June? Nah, that would be pushing too close to the Constellation. Mid to late May, eh?

Somewhere between the +Dil and the FE Rerun, eh?

Only thing pushing zen down is the sale - but that ends in 2 days.

Last time I used the zen exchange was to get a few 100 for my new character slot. To make my Sci Captain. Since most of the Dil I get goes to Dil store purchases to upgrade my characters.

Glad to see the Dil bonus coming again. I could sure use it for my upgrades.

I was very happy to spend the little tenna I had on some zen to trade for dilithium today for a quick boost to my klink fleet and to get the honor guard ground gear quick fIx on my klink.
I was mighty pissed when I saw no trace of this bonus ingame upon purchasing my zen via paysafe card on the old website configuration and transferring it to my ingame account.
I would send a GM post about it, but (and I'm being entirely honest as an sto fan), I know it will just be ignored by automated responses, same as my fleet roster bug. In some ways I'm starting to become really disenfranchised with sto of late :(

Sitting on my dilithium at the moment.

Got a few toons close to cracking tier five Dyson, and a bunch of marks and thingies.

Basically, that's dilithium for the fleet and good ship gear for a month or two.

The exchange will drop back down to the 120s or so eventually.

    I'll wait, im patient.

    He calls 138 cheap...hahahahaha.

You werent around for season 7's launch. Now THAT was cheap zen. 35:1 i think it got down to... or was it 50.

Of course with the bonus the odds of the cost going up are actually slim without an update to refinement. More dilithium out there doesnt do a thing with the 8k rule it just allows people to stockpile.

I know it hit 50. I was there for it. Thought it might have gotten to 35 at the way it had been going but i didn't stick around for it. I left for a good long while.

Aren't we still limited to only refining 8k of dilithium ore into dilithium crystals per day?

Maybe a 8.5k limit for those in a fleet?

Will never happen and I will never understand why people like 3 packs... You're basically paying a extra ships worth of zen for two consoles.

I think people will be using their spare dilithium for rep gear and fleet gear - dil is one of the bottlenecks there.

It's back to 140 now as the Zen sale is ending soon. I expect with all the extra players in game with the new season, this coming dilithium bonus weekend starting Thursday is going to be SUPER busy.

I would bet there are many who will rack up millions in dilithium over the weekend and slowly refine it over the next few weeks.

I also expect a ship sale soon and a new ship to be released in May. With only a few new consoles released to spend dilithium on and no new fleet holding - buying stuff from the Zen store will be most players options(or hoarding it for later)

I still think we could see the 160's level - something not seen since not long after starbases were launched.

    People like to buy power.

Just think what ship costumes used to cost, back in the old days, when men were men and Play was to Pay. Those costumes where a lot cheaper. They couldn't sell costumes to that price, so they invented new ship configurations and consoles. And people took it, because people want their "money's worth".

Meh. I just wish new ships had more customization options.

This is where my Dilithium is going. Right to the Dilithium store or Rep store for gear.

Yes which was a pain during the last Dilithium event, as the Rich Claims were also included.

I think that it may increase the amount of Zen they sell if they were to increase the amount we can refine. If we can refine more Dil each day, more players might be more willing to spend the cost for re doing their skill tree, and buying other things in the Zen store. This will mean more Zen sell, therefore more money to them.

If nothing else, increasing it for the bonus Dilithium grind events would be awesome.

Well I'm sure if it even makes it to 145 most people will just sit on "it."

You greatly underestimate the desire people have for grind-earned Zen, padawan. :)
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
