wow, so my game crashes because of the new graphics drivers.... and in the middle of the anniversary celebration. any chance of those being extended while cryptic fixes this issue? I'd hate to not get the ship because i cant play the game.....
alpha, because beta is ugly! betas saucer-section is to big, it's completely out of proportion. I hate the look of the galaxy class for the same reason. the worst looking of all enterprises. I prefer sleeker designs like the Sovereign and Intrepid classes. alpha is more in line whit that. the alpha ship reminds me a bit of…
I want that ship so bad.... I hate cryptic for making it a price ship. it's worth more to me than all the other T6 ships combined.... I tend to agree whit skollulfr here. that would be a property of the weapon frame. the loss of a module slot can be an associated cost. this is however part of the realm of balancing but…
I agree whit you. I hope that crypic makes fixing this a high priority and then roles this out to all other items. the system doesn't need to be as hot swapable as the kit system though. that make sense for kits not for deflectors, warp cores and shield generators. I am okay whit it taking some time to convert the items…
I specifically proposed this because I knew the dev team has done similar things. the new kit system was my inspiration for this suggestion. the thing that pisses me of about the crafting system is that they are 90% there. it's just so frustrating to not see them go all the way. it's really just a tweek like adding this on…
that's why I would suggest [Assimilated],[Adapted M.A.C.O.] and [Jem'Hadar] are unique and you can have only one unique module on your items. so if you have one you can't have the others.
this system is a huge disappointment if you expect to be crafting. Diablo 2 & 3 do not have crafting neither does STO. real crafting systems are to be found in ESO and GW2. both are F2P and I don't get why the devs didn't use that to look how their competitors are doing thing and learn from that. I mean a total of +/- 50$…
if you don't want it you can send it to me. it looks like a T6 vesta to me. so whatever toon you'd use a vesta wht would probly do well whit the anorax. I ran a pure support build on a vesta prior to DR. I would love to have this ship. GW3 + TR2 in the commander science seat and tact team/Ap Delta/FaW3 + int team/AtB for…
you clearly missed the point didn't you? if you hadn't you could have at least written something relevant. the point was that first of all there are a lot less ship models out there than ships. a lot of the faction ships are only statistically different while they share the same model. you simply cannot visually…
how many of thos ships are endgame? and by that i mean (F)T5-U and T6... the problem is that the alien ships tend to be T5-U by default I redid your math. however I applied the flowing rules* ships must be (F)T5-U or T6 * multiples don't count. example all 3 variants of the Dyson science destroyer count as 1. * inferior…
I think there should be more federation and especially more romulan and klingon inspired ships. they don't need to be canon from the show and movies they just need to look as if they are the 2410 versions of those ships. essentially share design elements whit them. the connie and galaxy class share design element so do…
hey I am not saying that cryptic doesn't make it's fair share of dumb decisions but the one discussed in this topic is not one of them! here is something i said in an unrelated topic: rewarding all content equally all the time makes it more compelling to play different kinds of content and be online more often. that is…
isn't this the same discussion as http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1369111 do we really need more then one topic about the same thing? my response here is the same: it's encouraging the wrong kind of play so crypic was right in it's decision to correct it.
I am not disagreeing at all whit you about this but the way the dilitium weekend events were previously setup encouraged the wrong kind of play and the devs were right to correct the problem. they could do a whole lot to make the game just fun to play again instead of time-gating everything and adding new reward systems.…
I think that when I play ISA advanced and I get 75 marks, a borg neural processor and 960 dilithium if I complete the optional that, that is fair. that means runing 3 advanced STFs will get me: 225 marks 3 borg neural procesors and 2880 dilithium. the repsystem allows me to convert 200 marks for 2000 dilitium and all 3…
that exactly what they ave been doing. players naturally realized that and exploited it. they didn't do anything wrong by that. cryptic realized they made a mistake and corrected the problem. to no-ones fault things can go wrong and than have to be corrected. sometimes it's that simple. ihmo i think its a good thing that…
I tend to agree whit you here. Cryptic cannot indefinitely keep adding specializations to the game. you can very easily get to many of them at once. I think 6 major and 6 minor specializations is the sweet spot. you can then have 2 different specializations per class that combine well whit them. it wouldn't be weird if…
noting it's just what any player does to be successful in any kind of game. I've already said that the fist time around if you had paid attention. but do you even know what the word means? here is a Dictionary definition for exploitation 1. The act of employing to the greatest possible advantage to exploit, meaning "using…
seriously how did you get this from my post? I wasn't having a problem whit i last week I still don't have a problem whit it now. imho there wasn't even a problem to be had... I can reduce what I've said to this one line: If you managed to exploit the dilithium events the last few years congratulations but you couldn't…
no it's not a nerf it's a mistake that got corrected. the events were being exploited and cryptic corrected the problem. at least they had the common sense (this time) to realize that exploiting game systems is just what any player does and not call us out for it. it's only an nerf in the strictest sense of the word. they…
I understand the love for the connie but the thing is ancient. it's a little more logical for newer non canon deigns from the 25th century to start taking center stage. cryptic makes some real good designs just look at the Odyssey...
personally I think that cryptic should retroactively add specialization seats to the older ships. especially the T5 and T5U ships since they are flown in the endgame. this would allow for the greatest diversity in the ships available for play and is therefore imho the best solution.
archer and his whole crew actually. those are the ones id like to see. he was stuck in a temporal cold war right, he and the Enterprise can end up in 2410 because of that. that would make one of the best ever featured series. more likely is either picard or janeway because they did/do voice work (for games;Flemeth)
I'd say find a new fleet or take a break for a while. Don't uninstall you can then always come back if you ever feel like it. I hope we soon get some real new content and it's worthwhile playing STO again....
totally agree. sector space needs to be more than just doors. without sector space the whole Idea that we are in space is gone... without it we would just be in social zones and instanced zones. there may be some more useful things for devs to work on but without it the whole feel of the game would be gone. it's simply not…
sector space needs an overhaul. actually because of all the things you just said. those are signs that somethings wrong. maybe we want to navigate directly to the system we want to go to instead of guessing what edge of the map we should fly to first to get into the sector where it's located. maybe we want to beam directly…
first of all thank you, for saying most of the smart I've read in this topic. now lets dig in... just having lots of enemies and/or high HP doesn't make things harder it just creates a need for high DPS. I don't think it's even about being harder at all. It's about the complexity of the engagements being to low. mostly we…
