Anyone remember an old Cartoon Network series called Time Cops? It was about an orphan boy, a muscle bound yet stupid time cop, and his rather effeminate robot side kick. The child, who was the brains of the operations, is a far more efficient time policeman than all of the Temporal Agents in the Trek Universe combined.…
My main is a an ancient being whose world eventually made it Warp tech. He rules the small confederation of planets with several friends in an oligarchy, and the confederation is affiliated with the Federation, but not a full member. This allows them be a little more gray in galactic politics, not that a small collection…
My main group of BOFFs are made up of my Alts. As in I made my boffs as close to my alts as I could. Partly for RP/story reasons, and partly because then I can pretend I have an actual fleet working for me.
A real Armada system. You're a FLEET ADMIRAL, you deserve an escort. Your ships that you staff up and equip. But seeing as that is unrealistic, I'll go for something that is. A T7 Galaxy Class built to canon specs. 14 phaser banks and 2 photon torpedoes with a billion sci, tac and eng slots and 6 commander universal slots…
The USS Michal, USS Michal E, and USS Piglet are all ships I've had on my main named for my kid sister. They are all of the Patrol Escort line of ships. Lately, I've been naming ships after cities in a Pathfinder game I'm in.
Plot armor. Plot armor that blots out the sun. Let's go down the list. The Romulan Republic. A refugee state that in a few decades might manage to become a regional power in that area of space. Points for playing the Feds and Klinks off each other to get aid, but that is their only good point. They are desperately…
The UI could use some improving. Particularly when you assign a ship. I wish that you could have a large grid showing off your ships or even the ability to sort them by tier. For those of us with a lot of ships (and you need a lot to be profitable), it is a huge pain to have to scroll down past all the low level ships to…
I have 700 rich claims that are from the days when they were BOUND TO CHARACTER. 700. On my primary toon who gets his dil by being played. I'd happily turn in all the claims for a small amount of dil.
The RR got a homeworld in 2409. They have had a year to: Settle the planet, attract settlers, build infrastructure, build a shipyard, build ships from said shipyard, train personnel to man said ships. Prior to the founding of New Romulus, the RR was a rag tag flotilla of ships. That was their "secure" power base. Did they…
Trek is supposed to have moved past religion. Or at least shoving it down your throat. TNG handled it very well with keeping it a personal matter of faith. DS9, shoved it in your face so hard. Couple with the fact that the Cardassians were painted in such a poor light that you were a monster for siding with them over the…
You get 400 Q thingies for doing the mission. 40 q thingies for the daily. You only need 16 days of dailies, They are giving you a month. A MONTH! And if you really push it, you can get it done in 8 days. There, now you too have a sandwich. Stop crying "DOOOOOOOOM" on the second day of something.
Romulus won't get restored. It's too big of a thing to happen. Plus it would detract from the refugee state of the RR, which is only surviving thanks to it playing the Feds and KDF against each other. The Romulans as a proper galactic power won't be a thing for a long, long, long, long, time. After all, it's only been a…
No. Just no. Not all of us who have been playing since Beta have mountains of dil, refined or otherwise. Not all of us have the time to play the game every day. Not all of us have the EC to buy the contra for contra grinding. And some of us are vainly trying to build up SBs practically on our own, since as mentioned in the…
Really, long term holodeck simulation to see just how far a crew can be pushed when a madwoman is placed in charge and they are stranded far from home. I like to think there were multiple scenarios going on and that the one we saw was the most successful/longest running one. It explains away so much!
While I like that is encourages some team work, the idea that everything has to stop whenever you take the smallest plink against your shield makes no sense. By that logic you should never, and I mean NEVER, get anything done at all because your deflector dish is constantly deflecting away small spatial matter.
I like that video. The soundtrack really makes it. Also, I imagine the whole thing was an elaborate experiment on holodecks to see how far a crew could be pushed.
MIN takes 15 minutes at the very least because it is time gated. If you kill everything and clear the map you still have to wait. So someone with a lot of alts has to sink a lot of time into running all of them. Which is, as you pointed out, a choice they are making. Last time around I ran 6 of my 10 toons. This time I'm…
You know you are old when: You know what Pogs are. You remember when there were only 151 pokemon. Sim games were about cities, farms, ants, and towers, not about trapping people in a swimming pool and watching them drown. You know what a floppy is and have to explain to kids why the "Save" icon is the way it is. You can…
Where are the bathrooms? Like on the Promenade on DS9, where are the public bathrooms? It doesn't even have to be an actual room, just a sign on a door would be enough.
I'm just running MI on 2 toons. Main plus 1 alt that is the best equipped out of my 9 total alts. I've just come back to STO after a long break due to burn out from this very event. The line must be drawn here! No further! Otherwise I will fall off the wagon and ever get my 1 month token from STOA.
Just so you know, once upon a time you could kill the CC in about 2 seconds. In a shuttle. Brace for impact and ramming speed. That was a great time to be alive. I was sad to see that bug fixed.
Isn't that sort of alleviated by the Armada system? The mega fleets take much smaller fleets under their umbrella and so the Alpha fleet members donate to the "under strength" Beta and Gamma fleets.
I just converted to Beams after being a cannon disciple since Beta. Like seriously, just 2 days ago! Why couldn't this information come out then? I'd still have my pride.
STO is not a great piece of artillery or cannon. Whether it is canon or not, rests with CBS. If they say it is canon, it is canon. If they say no, then nope.jpeg.
