Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

'...I can tell you that we're not in the military and that we intend no harm to the whales.' Kirk: The Voyage Home
'Starfleet is not a military organisation. Its purpose is exploration.' Picard: Peak Performance
'This is clearly a military operation. Is that what we are now? Because I thought we were explorers!' Scotty: Into Darkness
'...The Federation. Starfleet. We're not a military agency.' Scotty: Beyond
'I'm not a soldier anymore. I'm an engineer.' Miles O'Brien: Empok Nor

Human...everyone else seemed to be stereotypical...Vulcans are logical, Klingons love fighting and war and blood, Romulans are suspicious and untrustworthy...as a human I can be all those things or none of them.
Another great reason to vote for Bajorans and Cardassians if you want other-species options where everybody isn't the same. Both of those races had tendencies but because of how much we saw of them, we also saw a LOT of different people. For example, people say Cardassians are nothing but jackbooted thugs, but remember that we saw two different dissident movements get strong enough in a span of about 3 years to overthrow totalitarian governments. That right there--plus all the dissidents we saw on screen, is proof enough to me that the Cardassians are, like 21st-century humans, a mixed bag.
I dunno, I don't see humans as having changed so much, I think its more a matter of education and training.
As a species in Star Trek, we've learned to become more tolerant and accepting of one another, war between our own species has stopped, and theres no problems on earth with hunger or disease.. but sometimes in the shows I've seen human characters struggle and sometimes slip when upholding these ideals.
That to me seems very human.
It's been said you can never change human nature.. only how you deal with it.
"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."
Yeah, I've never gotten why everyone in the show seems so uniformly opposed to becoming Borg, either.
Because most sane people have strong moral and logical objections to becoming techno-zombies.

Betazoid. Long lived and it would be cool to read thoughts/emotions.
Only betazoids who develop their abilities too early tend to end up with serious personal issues. It would be cool yes, but what's to say you don't end up one of the unlucky ones?
Also, you'd be more vulnerable to anything affecting psionics, including other telepaths, just by having that ability. it's a trade off.

Right...I think it would be a different matter if someone were to have themselves and ONLY themselves cybernetically enhanced and still keeping their own individuality. And NOT in any way force their decisions on anybody else. It's the whole "losing your free will" thing that is the main source of horror about the idea of joining the Borg.

"When you are assimilated, you will receive a similar device"

What about Augments? Not all of them are power crazed.
Being an Augment would be awesome. Harrison is pretty much invincible. Though it's still a Human.

Human because we're adaptable since we can wear more than just one hat at a time.
This is why humans are so awesome.

Klingon goes first followed by Romulan followed by human reclaimed borg like 7 of 9.

There is a reason the first character I made is Andorian, and my current main is an Andorian looking KDF Alien, who I treat as an Andorian Privateer from the Mirror Universe.
Edit: just noticed the girl in my Sig & Avatar even has Andorian complexion.

But if you really watch you can see that it is hinted at there being much more to them besides just being genetically engineered killing machines.
