  • All nonsense. They removed it because they do not like rewarding players. They removed in space freighters from the game which increases the cost of building Fleet Projects, all claimed to be an accident. They removed the Officer Daily reward that has been in the game for 5 years. I find it hard to believe that players did…
  • Actually, it is really easy to do multiple dialogs in the Foundry in a non-linear style. It is just hard to explain it to people in a written forum. It is easier to show in a demonstration.
  • How they put a T6 Excelsior in the game does not matter. It only matters that it is in the game. I will go with this look, which I think is the best look for thhe Excelsior class.
  • I love the Excelsior. I am going to get the T6 ship but keep the true look of the Enterprise B. My wondeful lady the USS Agamemnon.
  • Communication requires two factors: a transmitter and a receiver. For the last 4 years, the discussions have been nothing more than a monologue. Whatever method is available will not have an effect on Cryptic. The developers have demonstrated that they only listen to a small minority of the game. And the company seems to…
  • After listening to the podcast, I came away with a better understanding of where Cryptic intends to go, at least from Al Rivera's perspective. He stated that "...this is really a alpha stage release..." which is the original posters main point and focus here in the thread. Which is in my recollection is the second time…
  • Truthfully... You cannot blame the player base for being harsh with Cryptic Studios. Some of us have been with Cryptic from City of Heroes, Champions Online, Star Trek Online, and Neverwinter. Some of us have been with Cryptic Studios longer than most of the employees that work there. It is true that some of us are not an…
  • I would have built the system around 3 basic principles or factors, gathering, process, and product. Gathering Any player would have the ability to go out into the enironment and gather resources in the natural environment in the game through the use of exploration zones or the Foundry. Process A simple method for taking…
  • Overall, I think the new system is great. I like the user interface and people with bad eye-sight can read the display with out any major effort. When I logged into tribble, the interface took me about twenty minutes to get oriented to the interface. One annoying thing that occured is the tab for the Delta Volanis area…
  • This post has been edited to remove content which violates the Perfect World Entertainment Community Rules and Policies. ~Askray
  • I used the kit system on Tribble for the first time today. The concept of being able to put the modules in the kit is interesting, but I feel the developers have over-complicated something that should be simple. Instead of making a kit of each of the 10 categories of the ground game skill tree for each of the three…
  • The relationship of players and the individual player's ability to play Star Trek Online is complex. I will try to break my explanation down and hope that it is understood. My Historical Experience in Star Trek Online. I have been playing since the game launched. I have twenty-six characters currently. These are spread…
  • If you send the de-equip items to the bank then how do you get the item back? A player would have to wait 2 hours for their freighter to cool down to access a bank, or the player has to go to a ground map to access a bank. When the item is in the bank, it is grayed=out and not accessible unless you go to a zone with a bank.
  • I am not sure if we can post a image on the forum. I would like to show an example of my beach outfit for a Federation character. This is Day 1's outfit This is Day 2's outfit: I hope the link works Thank you
  • I think the resort is great. I hope the resort is open all year long even if the summer event ends.
  • I liked the first 1 to 20 level stories. I did not see many serious bugs. I have only seen typing errors and grammar problems. I saw three graphic issues that I reported as a bug. On a whole, I think Cryptic is improving in their stories that span across a whole series of game content. The only problem I really see is with…
  • A recent player named Diwydend on 3/152013 at 4:39:40 pm wrote... "Pretty poor start, I don't like being portrayed as a Klingon on a fed ship. So little background story that I lost interest after five minutes of not knowing what this was all about anyway." The comment warrants a fair reply. First, all our titles are…
  • Well since my last post which was a couple of days ago, I managed to work on our role play stories for the two fleets I am in. To give some background information about the fleets, and why I make reference to them. I have been the leader of the SF41 The Blacksheep and the KDF41 The Ghostrider for three years now. Although,…
  • I will review the first part and then the second tonight for you.
  • I think you're doing great. I have found actually writing the screenplay out using a screenplay app and using Microsoft Word to be the best thing. Properly formatted, a screenplay will represent about 1 minute running time per page. Also, a screenplay will allow you as a writer to focus on dialog. I usually write a back…
  • Review of Preservers of Nevara
  • I reviewed the first part of the three part series. I thought the overall production was good for your first Foundry story, but I did not like the plot or dialog in the story. Feeling that I may have been harsh in the first review of the show, I played the episode again with a fleet mate. And, we reached the same…
  • I think they should just remove the Fleet Mark reward all together. What should be rewarded in the Foundry is just a higher drop rate of Anomalies. Since, a player can take the anamolies and use their ships laboratory to exchange anomalies for 250 dilithium or 500 dilithium. That is really all the reward you should need.…
  • My role play group we were role playing in Star Trek Online long before the Foundry was in the game. We simply used the interior stages that the game already provided and used the in-game dice rolling emote to solve problem solving task in the story. We were able to have cross-faction stories using the various elements…
  • When you create any project in a game like this, you will have to expect there to be negative comments. Why people choose to write a negative comment should be left to the viewer or person who wants to write the comment. For me, I usually ignore any comment and just play the Foundry story on its own merits. I usually grade…
  • Our role play group has decided that 1440 dilithium is not worth redesigning all our shows for. We will simply never use the daily officer investigation mission ever again. We were role playing in STO before the Foundry. The 1440 was only used as a nice gesture to our fleet members. With only 6 people in or fleet, we are…
  • ...the Starbase is the first step in making a PVP war system. But the game as it is, is not ready for it. Part of that is I think between Season 3 and Season 6 Cryptic lost the identity of what Star Trek Online is. Early on it was clear the game was a PVE game with elements of PVP. In season 4 it looked like it could go…
  • ...I think PVP players burned themselves in Season 4 and 5. I think Cryptic set out to redesign the combat system to develop better PVP in the game. I think that Cryptic laid out enough bread crumbs to test the PVP players commitment. But, the PVP community in game left all those Cryptic Guys to burn. Which is why I think…
  • I think that people have 3 options, need, greed, or pass. You cannot get mad at people for selecting need if that is a selectable option in the game. Why do I write this? Because, even if a player does need, it is not a guarantee you will get the item. If all 5 people on the teams needs then each player only has a 20…
  • I feel RSA and STOked are victims of their own making. So what if Cryptic has 1 person playing or 100,000 people playing. That is not a guarantee your show will attract viewers or listeners. If a show loses customers it is not Cryptic Studios fault. The purpose of a podcast show is to provide consumers with information…
