or better yet update PhysX version used in the engine to get way better performance from all particles in the game. @celku, I believe you can disable particles in the options, which would also disable PhysX, if you want the particles, then get a decent CPU, nvidia card or set the particles to something your PC can handle.
I worked on a small online game once, I responded to over 200 mails a day and that was alongside my tasks as a junior programmer. Comperatively this was with a very small playerbase. I bet with a playebase this large, their support has deflectors up to maximum to keep the bulk of random support questions at bay. They most…
I recently had STO fail to start as well, reinstalling it did not help. I had just upgraded my motherboard and cpu, along with the video card. Using safemode or resetting the settings by removing the config files did not get me past the cryptic loading screen (it crashed half way through). Reinstalling windows (use the…
Connecting without a proxy, launcher is slow to become ready, character selection takes forever to load. Then after loading a character, the map takes a bunch of seconds (30 - 60) to get from ping 2000 (probably the max after which packets are getting dropped) and showing 44 million unpacked. patch server proxy speeds up…
most likely they are still in the process of monitoring and had to implement certain counter measures. anti-dos attack counter measures often increase lag. I'm going to try the built in reverse-proxy servers again, perhaps those can bypass some of the lag. in the launcher, check the options and post your findings.
Too off topic for me, find a related thread or create your own. Back on topic: New patch notes said they fixed some server performance issues. After testing initial results indicate it's better but not completely restored to fully enjoyable.
I had simmilar results using the EU proxy made it minimally playable, though nowhere near how smooth it used to be (I think it was still good just after the particle collection server lag debacle). Up to the point just after the first command ship sale, which is when the lag struck hard and has stuck till this day. EU…
Proxy servers can be set up with specific routes in mind, allowing for quality control. I tried the proxies, results varied. Overall ping goes up and the rubberbanding was still there for me. I will do another test. But seriously, they should switch back to what they had a couple a months ago or upgrade their server center…
ugh, game is still unplayable It might not even be the servers just their internet backbone connection Either way this is definitely not something we can resolve :-( Still no official reply??
Thanks tfomega I took a look, but without knowing which backbone is being used by my ISP the data is hard to apply. I also re-read the network issue post, turns out there is a third step I had not yet done yet. pathping patchserver.crypticstudios.com > pathping.txt then wait five minutes for it to complete Tracing route to…
lag is still making the game unplayable, even at the academy rubber-banding and ping spikes up to 400 accompanied with a massive package increase. I am in the Netherlands, with one of the best ISP's we have here on a fast, stable and problem free connection. Give me tests to run or stuff to try, I want to be able to enjoy…
ping on most maps is now yo-yoing between 120 and 300, with massive spikes in packets again. 10k+ unpacked. It's hard to read out. Is there any useful and accurate information we can collect? I would like to resume enjoying my investment.
I noted that the amount of received packets spiked along with the lag. So I set my network receive buffer to 1024 packets. I just managed to do a single PvE queue without major lag. It could have just been luck, but for now I will take what I can get. If anyone reading this is having the same problems, please check to see…
win 8.1 x64 disabled all firewalls (even set pc to exposed host), nettest.exe still times out Why does this tool not just implement some UPNP/nat-pmp or just initiate the connection as a two directional port?
Just found this video which illustrates a possible cause: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLKRoq-ejx0 All the new SFX were already taxing the game graphically and on the CPU. Toning these down FPS is now a stable 60 vsynced now their sloppy pile-it-on stratagem might actually be causing lag as well... Please cryptic, get…
All patches are done (on demand off), ping still jumps around starting at 120 to 1000+ It would be great if playing would include less rubber banding. For me it also started becoming unplayable this week. It was bad in certain areas since a few weeks, some instances the NPC interaction buttons took seconds to show up.
Anything with an HP bar becomes a trivial shadow of it's once impressive mythos. I hope we never actually get to fight an Iconian, their stooges are fair gain. Though their tech should make them almost indestructable, just give us goals to accomplisch while being afraid of the iconians. Perhaps we could prep a super…
(Repost from other thread, reposted to consolidate my ideas) Redesigning the fleet storage so it needs to be used less: - sell all items in the starbase, this also stocks the fleet stocks with provisions - add EC so people can sell, add vendors so people can buy The whole thing would be magical and it's all just numbers It…
Redesigning the fleet storage so it needs to be used less: - sell all items in the starbase, this also stocks the fleet stocks with provisions - add EC so people can sell, add vendors so people can buy The whole thing would be magical and it's all just numbers It could be accurate values or simplified to tokens to be able…
That looks very nice! We could also use some more state shift key-binds (ctrl, alt and shift only get us so far) It would be really nice to sort powers on cooldown duration and shared cooldowns. I position the longer ones towards the end of the bar (as you hardly use them). ctrl, alt and shift 1,2,3,4,5 are the main keys I…
The contribute all in reputation tracks would save a lot of pointless clicks for most projects. Make it small or even hidden if you are afraid of SUE (stupid user error). Grinding the reps through the hourly projects is a great way to earn dili and some easy zen. Having that become less of a click grind, would be nice.
If only they were forced by gambling law to post the actual chances per item in the box... ...sigh... not that it would matter much I would prefer if the items were also available with a flat fee zen price. At least then I would consider spending my zen.
I think so, I switched to off duty and it does not show. Neither in Body/Head or anywhere in the uniform/off duty I hope us liberated borg don't have to sacrifice an eye attachment for this.
Getting the same problem The trait can be slotted but no tooltips change. No additional effect appears on the ship either to indicate the additional effect. If it is triggered just not shown, that would be good to know. But as for now, this lockbox reward has no value :-(
