I was here when Admiralty was added. I think I'd dismissed one of my leveling ships not too long before the change to make space for a new event ship or something and I missed out on that card. I never liked that particular ship and the card's not great, so no great loss. Also, you're kinda missing the point. Nerfing dil…
I have to say that I really, really hate the idea of tying anything in the game directly to fleets. It's one thing to use Admiralty as a source of dil/EC/whatever to dump into a fleet, but making the Klingon Tour of Duty reward something that can only be used for fleet projects just doesn't sit right with me. Not…
Cryptic knows there are players who aren't in fleets, right? This is definitely a slap in the face for people who just want to play the game solo. Even if the economy needs some tweaking, can't it be done in a way that doesn't TRIBBLE people over who just want to be left alone?
I think I used the green insect swarms on New Romulus the last time I bothered with a ground healing endeavour. I tend to leave my Romulan toons at the New Romulan Command Center and hunt Tal Shiar officers or Tholians for ground damage endeavours, so it's an easy option that doesn't involve flying halfway across the…
It's a ground queue, takes maybe 10-15 minutes depending on how quickly your teammates figure out how the objectives work and spread out to take them. The two patrols I tried are pretty much in line with existing patrol missions near New Romulus and the Delta Quadrant. Two patrols and the queue add up to maybe 40 minutes…
Is it just me, or is that news post missing a line for hull points? That stats look interesting, but I don't really like the looks. Might be better with a different hull material, but these event ships are always a bit light on customization options.
I believe the only Medic on New Romulus is in the Command Center, which is only accessible to Romulan characters. If you have access to the Dyson Sphere, the Joint Command hub has a Medic and it's not too far from New Romulus. Some of my toons have also had trouble with high-ranking Tholians. I think boosting radiation…
I assume the Escort Carrier mastery change also applies to the Qa'Tel Deck Raptor? It looks like the Jhu'ael Tactical Carrier Warbird already has Enhanced Weapons Systems and the warbird singularity thingy. Looking forward to having an extra hanger on the flight-deck cruiser types, whenever I get around to acquiring some.
It might be the pet level up animation. Mine are usually pretty far away or out of view in combat, but I sometimes see a star float up from them when that level up tone plays.
The way the news post is phrased, it looks like the trait is actually determined by your toon's faction, not which ship you're flying: The ship stat blocks list three to four traits per ship, each one tagged "[faction] characters only". I think that means that a Federation captain will only learn Heart of Sol no matter…
The boff seating really isn't my thing. Maybe I've been a bit spoiled by flying too many ships that offer two Lt Cmdr seats, but only having a one Lt Cmder and a bunch of Lt seats locks out a lot of options. The console and trait(s) look ok, but specifying an energy type is a bit confining. I'm neutral at best on the Fed…
I pretty much choose my ships based on what looks interesting. Each toon usually winds up with a specific ship or two that they spend most of their time in. I've been playing on and off since shortly after the LoR launch, so I've acquired a fair stable of ships to pick from. Giveaways and event ships helped me explore…
The 31c ships are all pretty good, though offensive Temporal powers work best if you're able to boost exotic damage and I'm not sure how they interact with raider flanking. The main problem I've had with them is the entropy mechanic, which makes it difficult to get the most out of certain powers. Still, there are some…
If most of your toons are Fed or Fed-aligned, the Arbiter provides some nice toys that can carry over to your other ships. In addition to one of the best traits in the C-Store, the Arbiter's console can be mounted on any starship as of a couple months ago. I've found Ablative Hazard Shielding to be a great panic button for…
So they just never accounted for the kind of player who finishes every Final Fantasy with fifty Eyedrops hanging around because they don't like using consumables and status effect curing spells are cheap? At least extra regenerators can be sold in bulk at any vendor.
Make Elite Marks not take up inventory space. This is getting painful with the sheer number of reps we have now. Give us the ability to filter out one-use Admiralty cards. They might be kinda handy if you haven't bought many ships or don't run events, but the assignments are really common and it's getting hard to pick out…
I'd have to go by faction: Feds: Sovereign. I tend to build mine a bit stretched, but it's a great ship that deserved more good movies. The Akira series is also pretty good, with some pretty drastically different models available. KDF: Qin/Qa'tel raptor. It's like a flying d'k tahg with a castle on top. The Naj'sov also…
The utterly wretched setup from 'A Step Between Stars" nearly killed the Dysons for me, along with the look of the Fed version. The Romulan and Klingon ships look much better, especially after the change that allowed us to use faction materials. One of my Rom toons runs it as their main ship, mostly because of that baby…
How about making elite marks no longer take up inventory space? We have so many reps now that they practically take up a whole pack's worth of inventory/bank slots.
Right now, I'm leaning towards the Cardassian Intel Flight-Deck Cruiser because it's cross-faction and I'd rather not lock any of my toons out of this reward, even if only two out of seven are aligned with the KDF. Also, it unlocks frigate pets that can be used on any ship with a hanger and I've been looking for some new…
The Temporal Dreadnought is a good cruiser, though the sheer size of it makes the camera a bit wonky at times. Like having half of it clipped off and showing that it's hollow inside whenever it warps into a system. The Temporal 3-pack is a great deal if you plan to play toons of multiple factions or with different builds.…
The Archon (T6 Sovereign) is a good ship, my main toon flies one because it's based on the good old Enterprise-E and that's not a small thing for some fans. Seconding the Arbiter (T6 Battlecruiser) recommendation if you want something a bit zippier than the average cruiser. Great trait for energy weapon builds and the…
Wiki says that's "Beyond the Nexus," which gives out the Trilithium-enhanced Omni-directional Phaser Array and other bits. It also says it's supposed to come after "Temporal Ambassador" for all factions. I'd assumed it came later in the storyline because of when it was introduced and Geordi talking about the Lukari. I…
Ok, I phrased that badly. The scanning can only be done during the event, which greatly restricts the supply. Crafting doesn't matter much when you have no materials to craft with.
Omega components can only be found/crafted during the Anniversary event every February. You go to specific locations to scan Omega particles and obtain Omega traces (and occasionally larger bits when you score well or get lucky).
I usually run my shuttles with a dual beam bank and an omnibeam, plus Emergency Power to Weapons I for a little extra punch. Maybe swap in Beam Fire at Will for the swarmers in the second half. Focusing fire on the worker bees is the most important factor since they trigger the reset. Watch for the progress bars and always…
That bonus doesn't apply to the daily bonus, which is about 50 or 60 marks if I remember right. The base reward for a Borg RA is very small, something on the order of 10-15 marks.
Shield Repair Units, I think. Wiki says they're a Federation exclusive, but KDF get something called Shield Repair Shuttles that look pretty similar. My KDF toon flies a Qa'Tel Flight-deck Raptor and uses Slavers. Stealing stuff from enemies is fun, even if it doesn't happen all that often. But if you have a Vo'Quv and…
