And how exactly do you know this? Do you work at cryptic? I don't think so. Findin where the bug is located in the code alone could take hours, and thinking of a solution could take even more time. And like I said, I doubt that Cryptic will invest that amount of time in this bug.

This bug also appeared on tribble a few months ago, I still see the Atrox gracefully cruising around ESD with an Odyssey escort. I also saw a Haakona humping a Defiant. It was fixed the day after if I remember correctly, so I would say: just enjoy the funny scenarios while you wait for a fix :P
