As someone who grew to like my flying microphone, I don't think it looks too bad. It's mainly the nacelles that are the problem and I might consider it if there are a some better looking options available.
I recently played through the story-line for the first time and I started to find it funny how the first thing everyone mentions is that "Kurland couldn't be here". Just before he finally shows up, I had been starting to wonder if they were going for a "Captain Tuttle" gag.
Got back the "Request R&D Materials" assignment today showing two Doffs in it, and when I collected it, the reward pop-up even showed two Doffs. When I went to check my roster though, nothing.
I just want to add that if your leveling, I'd shy away from buying any equipment as much as you can, since your likely going to outlevel it fairly quickly.
If your leveling, once you get to the episode "Past Imperfect", you can replay it to fill your weapon slots with some decent Disruptor-Plasma hybrid arrays (needs Disruptor tac consoles). If you replay it each time you get a new ship, that will keep them up to date to the MK level you need. As you level, you'll find other…
Personally, I think they should split respecs into 200 zen Space and 100 zen Ground. On Tribble, I found it pretty annoying that if I needed to change something on Ground, I had to redo my entire Space tree. It would also be nice if they'd fix it so that respecs stop clearing traits.

I had the problem that I couldn't move my overflow stuff to my inventory even though there was space. As soon as I sold off some loot though and made new space, it worked.
Yeah, but I'd rather they not bounce around in time. An anthology might be interesting as long as they set it some time after the eras we've already seen.
I just wanted to add that when I first tried to claim the items, it wouldn't let me even though I had space in my inventory, but after I sold off some stuff and made more space, it worked fine.
Driver Coil was changed to Sector Speed and it's baseline is set to where Max Driver Coil skill was. Additional speed will now only come from items and the 25% boost on the skill unlock bar.
I named my Tac ship the U.S.S. Aether Lykos. Aether is an ancient Greek word for the "air" they believed existed beyond the terrestrial sphere that permeated all of space. Lykos is the Greek word for Wolf. I'll leave you all to guess why I name my mad science ships U.S.S. Heterodyne.
