First of all, concentrate on making ships more specialized to one role or another. EVE online did this extremely well. Second, give fleets a genuine real-world affecting objective, like territory control (space sectors or planetary star systems.) The deeper into an empires territory you go, the greater the chances of being…
Sounds like it's their solution to the problem of 23c skills, BOFFs and DOFF's being locked in the 23rd century. Thank you for this. I can't wait to make my officers ditch their 25th century tricorders!
I would like the ability to purchase 23c skills for all ranks. It is intensely frustrating to have some of my bridge officers using both 23rd and 24th century tricorders and breaks the immersion for me. And (I've said this before) the skill of Security Escort should beam in TOS redshirts and not their 25th century…
I'll weigh in on this; Making the 23rd century bundle a give away for the 50th is perfectly appropriate. That said, I was really hoping they would have cleaned it up a little first. By this I mean, when it initially came out way back when, officers on the TOS bridge DID things. You know, like worked and such. The helmsman…
This should have been rolled out just like the Kelvin Connie: In a lockbox with a chance to buy it off the exchange, period. NOT a limited time only get it now or suffer until we feel like dangling it in front of you again. I love the Connie and would happily purchase it, but I strongly disapprove of paying for only a slim…
Yeah, I gotta weigh in on this one as well: When I first saw the announcement, I was thrilled. I love the TOS era and the TOS and Enterprise fans have been boned royally as their ships are useless at endgame. So if I had to reroll a character to play in the 23rd century, I'd be fine with that. But as mentioned, the connie…
My only problem with this is that "top rated" missions will be displayed. How is "top rated" calculated? I ask because I've made a couple of missions that have been very highly rated by the people who have played them, however the number of people who played the missions is not very high. (<1000). Don't get me wrong, I…
In my humble opinion, "star clusters" which have billions of stars in them anyways should have been in sector space a long time ago. Not only does it allow foundry authors to better perpetuate the illusion of "exploring", but seems a little more realistic than having a few solar systems scattered throughout sector space.…
What I would like to see are ship interior maps that represent a proper system of corridors for authors to use. Imagine the TOS interior map (the corridors with engineering, briefing room, ect.) This is an example of how corridors *should* be on a starship. A hallway (either straight or curved) with rooms branching out…
Yreodred, I'm sorry to hear that the Exeter isn't going to work out. I did the same thing you did for the longest time, flew the Ambassador in lieu of a Connie, but after a while I just got tired of it and found a way to make the Exeter work for me. As for the initial question of "Why no T5 connie"? They pretty well summed…
Yreodred, I just flew the Traelus mission with no real probs. Be sure your difficulty setting is on "normal" otherwise, yeah you probably will be smoked. If your setting is on normal and you're still having trouble, I'm betting it will come down to the setup. I'm a tactical captain so I get the damage boosts. Typically in…
If you get your hands on the c-store Connie (Exeter-class), tweak it with fleet gear and get the right bridge officer setup, you can make it a viable endgame ship including STF's. (That's right, you will see me in Conduit: Elite in my Exeter) It's actually all I fly now. It will never be a good Pvp ship at endgame, but if…
Hell yes! Not only does this open up many great scenarios, but it also gives folks like myself who enjoy their Connie a way to USE their ship. Otherwise, get used to continually seeing me in public ques, flying my beloved connie.
My issue is with laziness and poor story telling, especially in a franchise as robust as Star Trek. Virtually any crazy effect you want can be done because it was established within the canon of the series. In the first movie, we take a well-known actual scientific phenomenon: A black hole. Only (for no reason other than…
@ shockwave85: I'm not disputing your points. You are in fact quite correct in all your statements. I merely point out that flyinng a Connie and surviving is possible. And until Cryptic finally wakes up and gives us a proper retrofit, the community will just have to deal with those like myself who insist on flying their…
@ shockwave85: I haven't received any attitude as of yet, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't anticipating it. That being said, I have stayed out of the Elite STF's primarily because of the weakness my ship has against Borg cubes, and I realise that by jumping into one I am literally begging for a flame rage session. But…
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Starships (regardless of class) should be relatively easy to damage and difficult to destroy. Engineering teams should gradually repair hull and subsystems. Once a ship is disabled, the victor should have the option of attampting to board the enemy ship or blowing it away…
I seriously made a character named "Admiral McNeil". His only duty officers consist of advisors and refugees which he trades off to random worlds. He then takes any GOOD officers he has and either posts them on the exchange for easy cash or he finds some other method of transferring those duty officers to my alts. At…
I would say "Yes" to all questions except #3. I would like to see anything purchased via Lobi be bound to account, so in the event one of my Feds inadvartantly obtains something cool with any excess Lobi, I could transfer it to my Klingon alt.
This is not working as intended. I have two missions out there for folks to play (and both are well past the review phase.) One gives the rewards as intended, even to me (the author). The other, as mentioned above, does not. This lack of consistancy tells me its a glitch and not a deliberate intended function of the system…
I should also point out that the difficulty slider could be used to make the incurred damage far less painful or even noticable to those who want to play easy and far more painful for those who like a little challenge.
My point was to give people a reason to go to these dead zones. When was the last time you went to Vulcan? Why don't you go there anymore? Perhaps because there is nothing to do there. Can't check your mail, can't access the exchange and as for new missions and content, sure putting that into these zones is all well and…
The mission in question is public and according to the header also qualified for rewards. It's been played many times and open to the public for almost a year. But since no one is getting rewards, the system is clearly bugged. "Preemption: Federation" is the mission by the way.
I had the same thought: Since I authored the mission, I wasn't getting the rewards. So, I had a fleetmate play through the mission to tell me what the reward was. He didn't get anything either! So, I'm inclined to believe it's a bug.
Not sure I'm gonna like these changes but we'll see. First off: Romulan Distress calls, reduced duration. Why didn't they simply put these things on a long cooldown and allow the responding ship to remain as an indefinate escort/wingman (until its destroyed), you know like the fleet operational asset ships do? The idea…
I, for one, would love to see different varients of enemy commanders. Let me explain what I mean: A Mogai escort lobs off a few torpedoes and then pops off either an Attack Pattern Alpha or Emergency power to engines or some such. I would love to come up on a Mogai and have the thing unexpectedly target my weapon systems,…
