I didn't because why would I? I have 15 things left to go on that Temporal Agent Event thing. lol
As well, I didn't really care for the 23c Boff abilities really, it's a gimmick.
The Rising of the Delta is the best expansion ever, and people love it to death because it is a good day to die in the endless struggle for supremacy of your own conviction. (A spin off of the Delta Rising is the best expansion ever and all the players love it.)
I made 3 for craps and giggles, and I'm not too worried about the 23c gimmicks since it's not a big visual change anyways so I will slowly continue through the KDF war arc.

I made a toon, played through the c23 stories, then deleted it once I'd done them. I see no value in making a toon for a gimmick like c23 so deleted it in favour of the toons I focus my attentions on, and it was one of those I took through the non-c23 new stories.
I re-rolled by AoY captain because I got stuck when trying to turn in the 1st mission after speaking with the captain who told me to man the helm station. Unfortunately, there was no option to man the helm and there was no option to interact with the captain again.
After one day, I decided to delete and recreate my AoY engineer. However, I could not create a male captain (similar to one of the posters above). Therefore, I simply created a Vulcan female. Oh well, my male Vulcan engineer, Spork, had an extremely short career in Starfleet.
2 of the toons I worked on... yes worked. was stuck on bridge after finishing 1st mission. with no button to leave or go back to sector space or esd... could use the mission list to get the next mission... but no way to talk to admiral garret.
Nope, keeping the one I made. (Human Male SCI)
I may roll another just to have a Female AoY version of some sort, but not for a while.

I did it so I could force the plot boffs into the candidate roster instead of filling up my active slots. Didn't want to dismiss them because I never dismiss uniques.
Too bad I can't open my delta pack boffs until I get to the 25th, that's lame. Had to spend some dil on random 23th boffs instead.

you can force em... you just need to use 720 dil to do it.... once you get to ESD you just need to buy 3 common BOs... I go for all human for the space trait. Sci, Eng & Tac. If you have a shared bank, you can transfer over Eng Team or Haz Emitters or Transfer Shield Strength for Eng/Sci skills. You can not get Eng Team 23c since it is not listed on the merchant.
The ensign-rank mortar sounded good, but I didn't know about the 23c skills until after I'd already left for the main storyline. I'd just assumed that the doffs had the same skills as regular ones and just had a funny icon for their careers. I doubt it's cool enough to scrap several hours of work for, and I'm not likely to roll up a fresh toon since I can only earn the rewards once.
I almost had to, when my ship got trapped/locked to the K13 station... I beamed up, only to find my ship swallowed up by the station. A trip to my bridge, and then back to sector cleared it up.
But...yeah...I'm regretting not buying all the 23c manuals I needed.
Is there any actual difference to the 23c abilities ? Or is it just a visual thing ?
If its just visual...I don't really care.
I may make another Temporal agent or 2, just to have on reserve, in case I'm ever super bored. Real shame that they lock you out of the 23c after the arc is complete.
Real shame.
Did the AOY TOS bits, deleted toon and made a kdf dil alt. Things that stopped me sticking with AOY character:
Levelling to 60
Temporal probe nonsense as a toxic cherry on top of an unwelcome grind
Rep system to do again
Specialisaztion system that dwarfs levelling to 60
I did it this morning with the 20 mins or so of playing time. And then came home from work. And started up my new AOY. She is still the same, as I copied her stats. Now I can get the 23c skills and add a few weapons. Since I kinda sold mine or trashed them. This time it will be much better.
This marks the first time I had a "failed" start on an STO character. And had to reroll them due to mistakes I made. In WoW, I did it a couple of times. As I was trying to learn their game style.

I missed a couple of cosmetic items... I really hope Cryptic comes up with a way to get us access to all of that. But by the time I was lvl 10, I had really begun to love the new toon, and I won't be rerolling.

But I do know my friend had problems where the Captain wouldn't let her do something or such so she had to delete and retry.
