I fully expect any form of naginata or polearm weapon we get, if any, to use the Lirpa animations. We still don't even have power-gauntlets that make use of our awesome unarmed animations.
I discovered what's causing the bug a few days ago. Refer here for a full rundown. http://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline/#/discussion/1212538/shield-technician-space-trait-doesnt-work-also-breaks-other-powers The short of it is its caused by the Shield Technician Space Trait, but you guys are gonna wanna read my…
Because ALL MMOs work like that. Its an industry standard and Cryptic is no exception. Your opinions are simply paranoid delusions, but you're entitled to your delusions.
To summarize what everyone's saying, Eject Warp Plasma is primarily a control spell. Using won't help your DPS much (even with max Particle Gen), but you'll help anyone else who's shooting at the guy. Also any Sci Captain running Tyken's Rift will love you, and the rest of your team will love you both for reducing the…
Events like everything the OP listed have to be planned anywhere between 6 months to a year in advance. They're not something that are simply 'turned on' over a few weeks. This thread is garbage.
With regards to the Gel Pack Consoles's power bonuses. Are you sure that you don't have any points in Warpcore Efficiency? And are you using any piece of equipment that increases power-levels when the systems are low? You need to eliminate all sources of bonus power, especially those running off the Efficiency system,…
Forgive me if I'm finding it highly unusual that you're doing as little damage as you claim on NORMAL mode, because I can shred down a Frigate to roughly half armour with one Tyken's Rift and sustained fire (assuming I can keep him in the Tyken's Rift) on Elite. He usually gets out though, so I have to get him on the next…
Unfortunately enemies will never achieve our level of tankyness without the increased HP and resistances. We are simply too powerful, with access to many times more offensive and defensive abilities than any enemy could have. Your example of coding special A.I. for specific enemies, while a nice idea, is economically…
I'm in the camp that finds the increased difficulty more fun. Prior to DR, I was shredding enemies within seconds in a Sci ship even on Elite. But post DR, tackling enemies on Elite was much more challenging because I could no longer insta-gib them. It inspired me to look at my build, and I found ways where I could improve…
The Mary Sue DPS boat was the entire problem they were looking to solve. Enemies were dying waaaaay too quickly because players were too powerful. It didn't matter how hard enemies hit you, because you could take them out before they could do anything to you. Its not like this was a new development, Cryptic have mentioned…
The reason the Plasma DoT gets applied to you very frequently is because the Borg Spheres have their own version of the Omega Plasma Torpedo Launcher. You know, that Rep Plasma Torp that fires every 2 seconds. Now that you know this, adjust your combat tactics accordingly. Focus down the Sphere first, and only use your…
1) If the console has a MK level, it can be upgraded through the use of Tech Upgrades. Primarily obtainable through R&D Crafting, but you can buy them on the Exchange. 2) Only T6 Intel Ships have slots that are able to make use of the Intel Boffs. Otherwise, those Boffs function exactly as their other counterparts based on…
Its how I've always played the game. I never cared for mega-deeps. I built my first and only character to do what I want him to do, and simply learned how to be efficient about it. I don't care to run Grav Well+Torp Spread, I run Tyken's Rift. I don't care to play glass-cannons, I built up my Shield Tanking and lots of…
The did do something else. They developed new A.I. for the Vaadwaur. It could use a few tweaks but overall its awesome. End of discussion. Any more out of you will simply be considered to be an excuse to rage.
There is a difference between tackling a challenge and attempting the impossible. Doing emergent A.I. in an MMO falls in the latter, and expecting developers to even attempt such things only sets you up for disappointment.
Which is totally fine. Programming mobs that have emergent A.I. is insanely difficult for any game. In an MMO its essentially impossible. All they need to do is give the A.I. enough attack patterns and triggered responses to keep things fun. The new A.I. introduced in DR for the Vaadwaur was most definitely a step in the…
The additional HP/Res is pretty much essential at this point. Otherwise you'd simply chew through them no matter what maneuvers they did. Case in point, a lot of glass-cannons are complaining about being 1-shotted by the Crystaline Entity on CC Advanced now, and assumed that the Entity's attacks were buffed. Except it…
My point was that, while all the Vaadwaur ships (except the battleship) perform similar maneuvers, its too easy to keep up with the Cruisers and chew through their rear, even on Elite. Hence why I hope Cryptic figures out a way to have the A.I. just turn around and fight if you've stayed at their 6 for too long.…
Yup, they developed new A.I. for the Vaadwaur enemies. I'm loving the way the Vaadwaur spaceships behave now, although there is one minor complaint I have, specifically with the Vaadwaur Cruiser. The Vaadwaur Cruiser operates using the same A.I. as the smaller Vaadwaur frigates, it will either try to perform attack runs or…
