Well I'll go for it and lets see if any NPC can try stop me. Edit: Actual PvP for the position of Klingon Chancellor might be an actual idea. Any players are limited to generic bat'leth and the use of kits is dishonourable and results in discommendation.
Only the series finale of the last series did that by deciding what made the Doctor special was not who they chose to be but who they were born to be. Because why show children they can overcome their own society and do good when you can instead tell them they have to be born a certain way to break the mould and anyone who…
It's not just production design. TMP and early TNG represent a massive shift away from the standards and values TOS used. Unlike DSC and PIC which follow the exact same tone and style as their predecessors (the KT, ENT, and DS9) had, TMP and TNG threw out the vast majority of what TOS had done and took the franchise in a…
Yeah it was terrible when the discarded all of TOS when TMP came about. Terrible. I don't think it was Kurtzman though, somebody who's name began with an 'R', it'll come back to me.
You're telling me about canon? Wow. I acually said they formed hteir own canon not that they formed part of the main Trek canon. Any work with some sort of oversight will have a canon, it's IP management. So no, the VGR novels were never canon, just like the KT games and comics Abrams tries to claim as canon to the main…
TOS era. I don't care if it looks like painted cardboard or not, it'll still probably lead into it. My gods! The owners and runners of their own franchise want their franchise to follow their vision! The horror!
'Countdown' and 'Nero' really add a lot to 09. It was a good film that suffers from Abrams inability to let plots slow down at points and he cut huge sections from the film relating to Nero, his backstory and motivations and how he was captured by Klingons after the Kelvin cripples his ship.
The only ones I had a problem with from the shows actors were Paris (who sounded like he was forced to be there) and Worf in his later episodes. Some others were variable in quality but not to the same extreme as Worf. I do think that the actors for Gowron, Grilka, Kahless, K'mtar, Kurn, L'Rell, Martok, Sirella, and…
That's because STO based it on the old 'Countdown' comic. The actual ship in the film is a Vulcan one. It's specifically referred to as 'our fastest ship' as I said, it's cockpit is built resemble a Vulcan IDIC, it has the traditional warp ring that they use in ENT, DSC, and TNG.
Is it possible you overlooked the idea that people that want the ranks in game to conform to the canonical ones also want to remove the over done effects? The actual numbers of admirals seen in Trek is very small despite many thousands of them existing for an organisation that size so you can't actually tell me any stats…
It's possible that the KDF works like the Imperial military (in SW) in that both Army and Navy personnel have access to the exact same equipment (Star Destroyers, TIEs, Stormtroopers etc.) but are two different services, so rather than mixing in the ranks STO could just keep army or navy for the KDF but not have to change…
And yet your actual quote was... It's wrong firstly because the DSC novels were also announced as canon before being dropped (and the VGR ones weren't, they were just assumed to be because of the authors), and secondly because there is a 'novelverse', not all novels are part of it, but they form their own section of the…
If I want to see if I've activated an ability, I look at my task bar, I certainly don't look at the ugly circles that get drawn all over my my pretty ship. Spawned anomalies, sure, if I press 'Gravity Well' I expect to see a hole in spacetime in front of my ship, I certainly don't want my ship covered up just because I…
I don't cloak. I've been playing with some space magic spewing Fek ships (names Cowardice, Dishonour, and Treachery) and will go back to my standard 'park-and-shoot' Qoj or Vor'Cha. Cloaks are for cowards, Romulans, and cowardly Romulans. I've never played melee before so I'm giving that a go this time. All my away team…
The only things that really need to change with ranks is the correction of 'Brigadier-General' to 'Brigadier', the replacement of Dahar Master with an actual rank, changing 'Warrior' to 'Bekk' and the changing of the non-canon upper and lower halves of 'Rear Admiral' with the correct 'Commodore' and 'Rear Admiral' and make…
I enjoyed the Vanguard books. They're about the only part of the TOS era I'd constantly revisit. I also quite liked the DS9 relaunch series until it was cut short. I'm remain unfussed by non-canon books being taken in another non-canon direction. There's already PIC and DSC novels out anyway.
There's not. There is a AoY D5 that's possibly supposed to be a '60s refit of the ENT D5 Battlecruiser (which is about the size of a BoP) that they should make available but I suspect they're waiting to release the D5 properly.
Identical. The only addition series 2 made was facial and head hair. L'Rell's makeup was changed half way through series 1 to remove her cheek ridges and series 2 reduced her skull height to match Kol and the other series 1 Klingons but there are still high skulled Klingons in series 2. They used all the same prosthetics…
In the case of the Excelsior, Galaxy, and Intrepid it stands for 'Ugly Space Ship' and works as a warning to Klingons, Romulans, or any other species with a sense of aesthetics to switch their viewscreen to audio only.
