Well there's a problem with your argument since what the Goons did occurred in the virtual world and not the real world. And besides, I never mentioned the victims other that to say that it was the dev's fault for not anticipating an issue.
That ridiculous the goons are a group that purposely moves from game to game with the deliberate intent on ruining the experience for as many players as possible. they then go back to their website and openly brag about it. They are not in any way a religious or racial group. They are closer to a hate group or street gang.

Its more like the cops ignoring kids TP'ing or egging someones house on Halloween and even in that case there is real property damage so youd at least have a true complaint.

Just because someone is into PVE doesn't mean they want everyone to be the same. Hell some of the biggest elitest ****** i know are from PVE raiding guilds.
First of all that was a firing squad, not PvP - it was exploiting something which should have been taken care of in BETA, mind you a lot of stupid TRIBBLE should have been taken care of in BETA.
If ship to ship PVP was meant to be game, and I hope its put in properly, then they should have mapped out the ship properly, had the two opposing factions respawn at different area's and given respawned characters 5 secs of immunity (cant take damage, but cannot attack either) to either get their barings or retreat.
That video was the STO equiv. of brining DOOM LORD KAZZAK into stormwind, using barons fire on pets or the Corrupted Blood event (the zombie plague was intentional so does not count) and is something that needs to be fixed.

That was different Doc Brown was the head Klingon the worst thing that could have happened was he would have sent them back in time................oh wait that would have screwed part four..........you really should not mess with time travel it screws up plot lines.
Its easy to fix.... I'll gladly beam aboard a klink ship and fight, but to not be held there involuntarily since after having fun for 10 mins I might want to do something else.
Here's the fix its sooooooooo simple and once implemented will take 10 seconds to do..
When you are on your own bridge or another bridge.. once you log off then log back on you're back in ship mode....... easy
