Downloaded the game a few days ago. As soon as download was finished, servers were down for maintenance for two hours. Next day servers were down for most of the day for unexplained reasons. Now unable to authenticate. The few minutes of the game I was actually able to play over the last three days doesn't seem worth the non-stop hassles. Deleting.
I got this same problem, but noticed when I logged into the forums I still get the "you may only post replies to threads that have already been created. After a certain amount of time has passed since your registration date, you will be able to create new threads" even tho I've been a member since 2011.
Then I took a closer look at my welcome ticker and saw this:
That's right... I was here before there even WAS an internet and over a decade before my own conception. I think i found a Mobius.

With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
Twitter says they are working on it, that was an hour ago.
Same for arc.

I'm in MI state, and can't log in. Same authentication issue for me as everyone else. I don't have Arc installed, though, so it's not an Arc-only issue.
Have tried TraceRT and PathPing with the results that TraceRt got hung up at Level3 in London just as it has done for the past few days on one of its hops, and PathPing cannot even get out of london due to Level3.
Maybe it would help them if you put in your region you are located in if your having authentication troubles.
I'm in the US on the pacific coast and I can get in to my characters just fine.
Consider yourself lucky & not just in the "right region". I'm on the Pacific Coast as well, and server booted me at approx. 1:20, refusing me to log back in. However, after reading all the complaints, I truly doubt your logged in and playing, but rather you are posting here to keep the flaming going, maybe thinking that if it continues, something might get done faster to solve the problem. It'll get fixed as quickly as Cryptic can humanly possible get it fixed.
Sidenote: I truly believe though that we would have less of these issues if PW was out of the picture of running this game! :eek:
Question to all those unable to log in to the game. Are you guys doing this from steam, from Arc or from just the normal launcher?
I'm getting into the game through Arc. When I hit play game on arc, the takes me to the launcher, it goes through the patch and it says Engage for me like it normally does.

Wonder if this is ongoing from the SNR issues a lot of players have been experiencing on cryptic games or is a new problem.

So how many days in row now has it been with some kind of server issue?
I'm in the US on the pacific coast and I can get in to my characters just fine.
Issue seems to be limited to the authentication server - actual game servers are running fine from what I'm hearing from fleet mates.
Oh and Craptic... try turning it off and on again!
This is happening in other PWE games too, so it must be the server.
