    So, how is there a plethora of new ships being added in the Delta Rising expansion? Last time I checked, including the traditional and intel tier 6 ships, there is 5 Federation, 2 Klingon, and 2 Romulan ships being released. The only faction that comes close to having at least 1 ship of each class, and an option of 2 ships in 2 of the 4 classes, is the Federation. The klingons, well I guess a "Plethora" is having a choice is the escort type of ship. The Romulans, well...maybe if you want to choose between cruiser or escort for your science Captain.

    They did not mention a 'plethora' of Fed ships or Rom ships or KDF ships...they mentioned new ships...that's 9 ships.

    9 is a rather large number to be releasing all at once; the faction breakdown is not really relevant to Trendy's statement, just the number of ships.

    It's going to take them quite a while to expand this new tier out into addressing a decent range of styles.

    Naturally, I expect that we'll have "DPS-oriented specialization #17" before we see "support-oriented specialization #1" with the way things tend to go. Either that or they'll call it "support-oriented" but somehow it will revolve mostly around upping exotic damage.

    You know, I never paid attention to the loading screens, but it turns out the new ships have always been shown on it for awhile now. Yes, it took this long to make the connection; I usually just switch tabs to browser between the short loading times.

    I do like the idea but if you went with the set up i got it makes more sense because the dauntless class ship didnt look like a tactical focus ship. However, my changes aren't probably going to get noticed by cryptic studios despite this being a better choice. Its the final product unfortunately because once they set everything up and its finished they cant really do anything about it. I was stating in my post because its a tier 6 ship it would have to be in competition with the Wells and even the Vesta in terms of science ships this set up they have currently is utter nonsense. I mean I'm a science captain and I was absolutly looking forward to having the dauntless class ship in my ship inventory because it looks amazing but now that the stats are out for it, its hardly worth it because the Wells class/Vesta class ships still trump that ship by a long shot. Statistically speaking because no one runs the Science/Tactical build ships because its not that great if it was a Science/Engneering ship it would rank in with the Wells/Vesta class ships but it doesn't for some unknown reason it seems that they want to expand the library of Science/Tactical ships. Which really makes me angry and disapointed at them, Stop cryptic for making more Tactical ships even if its Science/Tactical we dont like this aspect of it its a downgrade on Science captains and a disapointment for me. I want to see new ideas new aspects to the space combat for my ships Science/Engineering would make it a little bit more interesting.

    I do like your suggestion much better, though it could also go with a lt.com tac, lt.com engineer, com science, lt. science/universal, ensign science/universal.

    That would make it deliciously balanced for tac and eng with a sci focus... I don't know if it steps on the scryer's toes or not as I'm fairly certain the boff slots on that are a typo in the intel blog. I seem to recall a post afterward saying the slots were a typo but apparently no one bothered to go back and fix it? so... lol. It's not like you have to leave a typo because you made a post saying it was a typo. >>
    The Dauntless was never shown to be a tactical ship in the show and seeing the rest of the T6 ships have a universal bridge officer spot it wouldn't go against anything to have one of the tactical bridge officer stations go universal so that we all can customize it to our own preference .

    Makes you feel more in tune with your ship when you can make it your own style , i did the same with my vesta , id chat with other vesta captains and see what they did , when you make it rigged you make it less versatile

    And so far in this thread and others i have read , other then some not liking the visual look of the ship (which is peoples personal like ) i have not heard much about any other part of the ship other then some not into the light amount of tac consoles.


    So i am calling out to the Dev's give it one more pass over and thought in the form of bridge officer stations .


    Thank you dude thats what i said in my post almost and i even gave a new stat layout for the ship to make it better go back to page 13-14 ish and you will find it

    oh i did look back and quoted you a few pages back as having a good an well thought out idea , and then added my two cents that it only should be locked into one tac station

    The Dauntless class has, in my eyes, to many Tactical Bo's. The Lieutenant Commander Tactical can be an Engineering Bo or an universal. Than it will be better for all.

    I was going to purchase the Guardian until I found out you couldn't mount DHC...WoW really do we need more beam boats?...Oddy, Galaxy, Sovereign, etc.
    What we do need is a cruiser like the Avenger on steroids...I see nothing for the Feds or Rommies that is going to stand up against the Mat'Ha Raptor.
    This is your big chance to get it right Cryptic..Don't blow it!!!!

    Really, complaining that the KDF has serious teeth for once? REALLY?

    That Guardian is like everything the Galaxy fans wanted but didn't get in one sleek bundle. It may not tank quite as well as an upgraded oddy or fleet regent, but it's got a lot of tank and a lot of gank. With that turn, DHCs aren't a good idea anyway; FAW spam is a better choice.

    Besides, the KDF deserves some parity, and this is NOT Cryptic's one "big chance" to "get it right". They've screwed up over the years, true, but this IS a pretty good ship lineup, and they've had plenty of awesome things to make up for their screwups.

    So yeah. The Guardian is a poor ship for DHCs, the Mat'Ha is the first really unique DPS machine the KDF's gotten in a while (and in fact the first really effective Raptor in a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time), and that is in no way a discrimination against feds or rommies. It is 100% giving the KDF some well-deserved firepower.

    Plus it's a sexy, sexy ship.

    W H Y would you EVER put DHC on a big booty cruiser?! In fact, any cruiser that's not a scimitar for that matter? Just because you can doesn't mean you should!

    The Phantom should have had the same weapon layout as the Ma'ha raptor. Only reason I haven't purchased the Delta Rising pack. Guess thats just another $125 that gets to stay in my pocket.

    The Phantom has 5 more energy, stronger shields, higher turn rate, better impulse, an extra lt.cmdr, the same cloak, and the intelligence abilities in exchange for a moderate amount of hull and a 5/2 vs 4/3 setup.

    It may or may not have a better trait, too, depending on the actual numbers there (and I'm really not sure how anyone's supposed to get other faction's traits there, so it's probably a feddie trait.

    Yes, you could trivialize it that, but its easy to do the reverse also. The ma'ha has +5 more weapon power, two more bridge powers, an additional fore weapon, 6k more hull and only loses .05 shield modifier. blah blah blah rant rant rant. I simply would have prefered a 5 fore 2 rear on the phantom. I was just stating my opinion and my reason for not purchasing the pack.

    Nothing was being trivialized, and you're tossing some "inaccurate" information there. The hull difference is significant, but to be expected given the intel ships do not yet have their fleet variants out, and were already stated to have less hull than equivalents of the same category. The difference in shields is a low 463.73 for an adaptive MACO mkXII, but this is before compounding the ship tier and captain skill bonuses.

    5 more weapon power does not mean it has more power to work with. Power can be adjusted (click the little window thing on your power section and select '3'). The totals remain +20 vs +15

    The Ma'Ha has 1 Commander, 1 Lt.Commander, and 3 Lts, for a total of 13 boff ability slots across 5 officers.

    The Phantom has 1 Commander, 2 Lt.Commanders, 1 Lt and 1 Ensign for a total of 13 boff ability slots across 5 officers. You'll note that this is not "two less bridge powers" than the Ma'Ha.

    Things have been a bit interesting every since (in the STO timeline, that is.)

    the game starts with war. we were never explorers in the game. if you're remembering we were then you're remembering wrong. sto isn't tng. it's ds9 during the dominion war years.

    I love the new Romulan and Klingon T6 science ships!!!
    Enahnced enhanced battle cloak - they don't even show up in the news or in the shops :(
    18 characters
    KDF: 2 tacs, 2 engs, 3 scis
    KDF Roms: 3 tacs, 1 eng, 1 scis
    FED: 2 tacs, 1 eng, 2 scis
    TOS: 1 tac
    all on T5 rep (up to temporal)
    all have mastered Intel tree (and some more specs Points)
    highest DPS: 60.982

    i hate that my xindi carrier will become just a t5-U and not a t6, but i hope maybe we could see ships like D'Kyr Science Vessel upgraded to t6 in a near future:D
