Guardian looks to be an olive branch to Galaxy players both in aesthetics and mechanics. Based on the turn rate and crew compliment its probably a comparable size to the Galaxy as well. I wish I could get excited about the Dauntless, but a tac heavy science vessel was why I chose the Oracle over the Luna at level 40 and why I ended up eventually shelving my DSD. I'll probably be skipping that one and stick to either a T5U fleet sci of some kind or the Scryer.
And when a Cryptic Dev answers my question, I'll believe it.
That's because you already know the answer to the question.
Can the Ambassador skin be used on the Galaxy?
Can the Galaxy skin be used on the Galaxy X?
answering those questions will give you the answer to can the Guardian use the Galaxy skin
Your pain runs deep.
Let us explore it... together. Each man hides a secret pain. It must be exposed and reckoned with. It must be dragged from the darkness and forced into the light. Share your pain. Share your pain with me... and gain strength from the sharing.
If I'm not mistaken, charged particle burst disables cloaks for at least a time and photonic shockwave disables the ship in general for at least a second, so these would be very potent abilities for keeping those damned shifty romulans from battle cloaking.
Especially with that torp spread. If you get off a torp spread as someone is cloaking and it catches up with them after they've disappeared, I imagine it should instantly pop them back out for you to beat the TRIBBLE out of... do you hear that? I think it's the faint cries of romulans echoing back in time from the future. Sounds like... "nerf nerf nerf nerf nerf..."
Learn the ways of the force aux to dampeners lol. It's still worthless lol.
Or perhaps they decided to do things a bit differently with the skins for the T6 ships? You don't know. Yes, it's doubtful, but you never know.
If the Guardian could use the Galaxy skin...we would know about it. Just like we knew that the T6 Intell ships could use the classic ship materials and parts.

On kdf side before we wonder about skins we have to wonder first if we did ever get new costumes if they will actually work or not rofl.
Well since all science ships are supposed to eventually get secondary deflectors (as far as I've heard floating around), I imagine it will get one when all other science ships get one... that or not having the secondary deflector is a price it pays for getting an integrated cloak and intel ship powers, just like the eclipse gives up two of the cruiser commands for it's intel stuff, and the phantom gives up... um... erm... something I'm sure. :P
I should note the Scryer also doesn't have Sensor Analysis listed either. The intelligence ships don't seem to fit exactly into the mold of the standard ships, as the Eclipse doesn't have all of the cruiser commands either.

The Eclipse has the standard battlecruiser comm commands - Attack and Turn. (FDCs get Shield and Aggro).
the guardian is great, with that station setup its like the d'deridex only better. turn rate is pretty low though, id really like to see something more like 7.5 on there. not much else to say other then it looks great, and be a really strong cruiser you can use for just about everything.
Turn rate is no longer an issue after the delta rep; it includes a trait at T2 that's basically Helmsman but with a 25% bonus rather than a 10% one and the two piece set has another 20%. I actually had to turn *off* some turn boost traits because my ship was getting too hard to keep cannons on target.
it has a 10 turn rate, and all you can think to use it for is a FAW boat? a cruiser with a LTC tac, 10 turn rate, and can use DHCs is a piece of junk? what game are you playing?
why do you want a d'deridex replacement? wouldn't you rather have something with a differnt niche? this is a more klingon like battlecrusier with a singularity core, sounds good to me, i'll still enjoy my d'deridex and use it as the very different ship that it is.
But... I already use DHCs on my Fleet D'D!
In many ways the Aelahl is a downgrade to my D'D. Now had they said it was an upgrade to the Ha'apax I might've understood that, as well as not cared...
What do I want in an upgrade to the D'D? How about another tactical console slot? Maybe a universal console that synergizes with the ones from the Retrofit and the D'ridthau instead of simulates one of them. Change the Lt. Cmd Science station to a Lt. Cmd Int/Sci station. Those right there would be a start...
I'm more curious about the planned fate of these intel seats though.
We've been told before that Intel is just the first BOFF specialization. In the future when you release the others will these seats be opened up as just specialization seats capable of slotting intel and anything else?
Lieutenant Commander Science for the Guardian Cruiser has completely put me off the Guardian. Guess I will be skipping the first wave of T6 ships.
What? Why? You can Gravity well into whatever LCdr Tac ability you've got. That's a nice setup build. That's a wonderful set of possibilities.
What did you want?
"Rise like Lions after slumber, In unvanquishable number, Shake your chains to earth like dew, Which in sleep had fallen on you-Ye are many they are few"
Starting to think there is a typo in the guardian as it has to many bridge officer powers. I dont think it has both a Lieutenant Commander Tactical and a Lieutenant Commander Science. Doesn't that break the ship rules and give the ship to many Bridge officer powers?
Geko stated that Secondary Deflectors will be coming after Delta Rising - they are just focused on getting this Expansion out the door right now.
To be perfectly honest, I take what Geko says, as just a load of bull TRIBBLE. He was the one that originally floated the Secondary Deflector idea over a year ago, and at various points, it's been promised to Soon be released, including but not limited to: Season 9 release, During Season 9, Shortly after Season 9.5, and now I suppose "sometime after Delta Rising".
He's full of it, and I'm tired of any of his so called "statements"
but the Dauntless should have the speed of an escort..cause in the show it was fast and had slipstream
We didn't get much of a view at her sublight engines. She is the fastest faster than light vessel that we're aware of that doesn't use a folded space drive (Coaxial Warp), but we don't know how she maneuvers at impulse.

Whoever makes the decisions on the stats of these ships, please please please consider the following:
Giving the new KDF raptor a full battle cloak
Improving its shield mod to .95 or 1.0
Giving it a better turn rate of 16 or 17
This ship could be great, and sell great. Lets make it a true contender against FED and Rom ships.
Also, looking at the Guardian Cruiser, is this the "Galaxy" revamp people have been asking for?
Can the Galaxy and Venture models be used with the Guardian? She is basically a redone Galaxy class.
What I mostly see in that Cryptic design ship is a lot of the odyssey and the sovy lol. Which I actually like how it works I just don't have as many feds as I do kdf. Which it would be nice if they would have done more kdf ships like they did with this guardian especially some more on the negh'var look and a t6 bop.

What would be cool is if they introduced a new battle cloak and call it the counter command battle cloak lol. Give this new raptor, the T6 battle cruiser, the 2 romulan ships, and the phantom a counter command battle cloak that basically alleviates the problems of not having a battle cloak with some reman design in it too so that the fed and kdf wouldn't need reman boffs with infiltrator to make decent cloak ambush lol.
Just me though if it was up to me I'd remove that standard cloak and just make all ships have a battle cloak but make the current battle cloaks have their own uniqueness because standard cloak imo isn't worth much of anything since there is no advantage in it besides pvp which is barely done by anyone just a small small minority of the player base.
The Mat'ha Raptor is by far a beast. Out of all the ships, that one has the best (imo) consoles - Heavy Disruptor Spinal Cannons. Sustained barrage is an understatement; that thing is a machine gun.
This is the Raptor my KDF tac has been dreaming for... I fear a nefr in the futre:) It made me decide to use my Qin raptor again.
If I'm not mistaken, charged particle burst disables cloaks for at least a time and photonic shockwave disables the ship in general for at least a second, so these would be very potent abilities for keeping those damned shifty romulans from battle cloaking.

T:HY, not T:S... so it will still be subject to a miss chance; depending on exactly how Warp Shadow Decoy functions, they could already have a defense coming, though only if it forces a target shift to the Warp Shadow. Also, compared to the combo of Reciprocity/Battle Ready, that still isn't going to be quite as amazing... Enhanced Firing Solutions only works with the weapons not affected by Overwhelming Force, so no synergistic benefit.
it has a 10 turn rate, and all you can think to use it for is a FAW boat? a cruiser with a LTC tac, 10 turn rate, and can use DHCs is a piece of junk? what game are you playing?

It's still an inferior Eclipse with mismatched stats and special console... though that does make it different from the D'Deridex, it really isn't up to snuff compared to the other T6 ships. Definitely not limited to B:FAW, though.
If the Guardian could use the Galaxy skin...we would know about it. Just like we knew that the T6 Intell ships could use the classic ship materials and parts.
I think you're exactly right there. It very well might, since the Starfleet Operations Report...
...is providing good cause for naming your ship the U.S.S. Starlord, as well as hinting at the possibility of using the Galaxy family of ship components.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
I've read over this entire thread and everyones biggest complaint has to be the Romulan Battle Cruiser. I think in order for it to take advantage of its stats it should look like this.
I would have said those 3 Tier 6 ships (not counting the previously announced Dauntless) are very nice, but since the pics aren't having larger versions upon clicking, I can't say that yet. (In other words, please Trendy, add larger pictures in this 'LCARSy' blog interface.)
For now I can say they're far better looking than the Intel ships we've seen (and we've barely seen anything else than concepts for KDF and ROM intel ships).
Good thing KDF finally gets a useful (as in somewhat more competitive than the Tier 5 Somraws and Qins, although I like those) raptor. Not sure how competitive it'll be after more Tier 6 ships are introduced, however.
Another good thing Romulans finally get a Battlecruiser not only in name. Poor D'Deridex is merely a cruiser in fact, due to its turn rate.
I've never liked the Dauntless design, but as already said, it's still better than the FED Intel ships and the Guardian might actually end up a nice FED ship (kinda rare nowadays from Cryptic), but I reserve my opinion till I see better pics.
And finally I've been able to make a mental image of what Tier 6 represents: At lvl 50, Tier 6 ships are comparable to 'Fleet level' (10 console Fleet or Lobi/Lockbox or Event ships) Tier 5 ships, but gain a 13th Boff ability and ship passives (upon using the ship).
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.
Learn the ways of the force aux to dampeners lol. It's still worthless lol.
Aux to dampers won't protect against a charged particle burst effect, and I don't think *everyone* slots aux to dampers, maybe that's "doing it wrong" but I suspect it will still have use, lol.

Holy TRIBBLE! Those are some impressive ships. That tank of a cruiser will certainly be my new favorite ship.
