Speculation About Next Weeks Announcement

Hi, what do we all think next weeks 'epic' STO announcement will be?

I think CBS is going to announce a new Trek TV show set in the STO universe and the game will be tied to it, similar to the game / TV show combo that is Defiance.

:)

EDIT: We already know it is not the S8 release date; and they would never start talking about next years update before S8 even launched.

Brandon has said it is going to be 'Epic' and an 'important announcement' for STO... So I don't think the winter event qualifies especially as we know that is coming etc... I think it is something we really do not know anything about, hence wanting to speculate.

    That would be cool... Will be awesome to see how all those ships are packed into the Lock-boxes.

    1) what announcement? EDIT - Ok, I found the tweet.
    2) I've heard them use the word epic before. While important they dont always deserve the epic tag. Keep your feet on the ground.
    3) A TV show could come at any time, i doubt it will be a STO version in anyway.

    1. season 8 date which is 1-2 weeks after new episode
    2.new winter event +new rewards+new ship
    3.sto wil come to ps4/xbox one
    if there is going to be new announcement

    I'm guessing it's whatever the 'special' thing they took time to add to the episode coming on the 31st. Maybe another known Star Trek actor is providing voice work.

    I highly doubt it.

    I have read rumors that CBS may be interested in doing a new series. And it would be nice if STO at least got a nod, storywise. Or at the very least, CBS didn't stomp all over STO's backstory in the process.

    But a STO-based TV series puts too many limits on both Cryptic and CBS to do what they want. Ultimately, I'd like them to coexist more or less peacefully and the fewer continuity errors the better. That means convergent history and divergent plotlines.

    The announcement is likely going to be more Season 8 related stuff, I'm sure.

    That sounds like a very possible situation. I for one would love to have one of Star Trek's resident Delta Quadrant veterans talk me through the episode, perhaps Seven of Nine or the Doctor. (Of course Admiral Janeway would be awesome, but I daren't get my hopes that high.)

    Well they're going to release the stats of the Alien Carrier...

    Its nothing about a TV show ffs...if it was Bran wouldn't be the one reporting it.

    How about them offering 3d models of your ships? :P
