Well with the new Blog here about the new comm arrays: http://sto.perfectworld.com/blog/?p=997641 we can see that the new Battle cruiser has a 5/3 weapon loadout in the second screenshot. and the first shows the ship, albeit in a very tiny form.

Hmm. Will this maybe make the Galaxy viable?
I've been driving my Chimera for a bit now... (sweeet console there, imo)...
Please reconsider ARC. Please make it optional, at the least. PLEASE.
It seems the vast majority of your most active players (forum regulars) hate the idea... and while that's a small subset of the playerbase, I think it's an important constituency.
THE PLAYERS DO NOT WANT THIS.
imagine you are just puttering about, borg cube pops in. you invert the warp field, launch a quantum torp (or whatever you have in there) And launch it AT WARP SPEED into your target. Hits in the blink of an eye with all that speed translated into concussive force...
If that can be made to work, Holy hell that could make for one hell of a kinetic weapon... Depending on what you're willing to throw, that's a planet cracker.

You seem to be forgetting that all Federation photon and quantum torpedoes come equipped with warp sustainers. That means all a ship needs to do is to fire them while at warp, and the torpedo stays at warp.
In other words, said shenanigans are already possible. Nobody bothered to do the science to realize it.
Hah, shows what I know, I didn't know about that at all.
It's alright, nobody in Trek ever really learned to use their super magical tech all that well. All manner of crazy tactics and strategies are made possible by things like transporters, FTL drives etc. that don't get utilized.
I'd have to do the math, but it's entirely possible that the simple impact energy of torpedoes fired in such a manner would surpass that released by the warheads they carried.
Lol, my Engineer is going to love this cruiser. No lie
It could be a good cruiser (depending on the nuts and bolts of the powers), but if the powers are independent of the captain type then the Science and tactical guys are going to benefit from this more than engineer captains. Of course this makes the Eng/Cruiser better than it used to be, but I would like to see some synergy with the engineer powers and engineer captains.

Wow, that is some powerful ugly there. Gg cryptic.
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censored, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
Most hideous ship ive seen in this game so far, even the tal shiar ships look beautiful compared to this.. lolol
You have never seen a Galaxy class? Ever?
The new battlecruiser looks like what its name implies: a cruiser built for battle. It's no where near as sexy as the original Avenger Star Cruiser, but at least it does not have a giant hole in its neck.

The Odyssey Class took the ugly prize in my opinion. You will never see me have one on my Fed Captains. That ship looks like it got beaten to death with an Ugly Stick.

Well... The aft and upper fore view are neat looking. I'm not a fan of her engineering hull or under profile - but I'll wait until I can look at her in game to decide.
Play my missions on Holodeck! Return of Ja'Dok Series (6 Part Series) Enemy of the Exile Series (4 Part Series) Task Force Ja'Dok Series (3 Part Series)
Well, Im glad we all don't like the same ships, or it would be pretty boring. I say good job, Im interested, cant wait to try it out. The beuty of this game is you don't HAVE to fly what you don't like;-)

Cause I'm looking at it and I'm kinda' seeing an opening for a hole. :P And I'm hoping I'm just tired and tripping.
I am afraid this new Cruiser will make so many other Federation Cruisers obsolete including the Galaxy X
Ironically, the Gal-X's mostly obsolete status remains unaffected, since this thing doesn't have a Lance, but this thing completely buries the Regent and the Excelsior. The Regent is just comically outclassed by a ship with the same layout and better-everything, the Excelsior is reduced to a fancy space-taxi by a ship that out-turns it AND carries DHC.
Also, is that a double neck setup I see? Dang, I hate that, what's up with Cryptic and double necks?
Well at least it has 700 crew, which would (hopefully) put it in the size range of a Vesta/Sovereign and not be ridiculously oversized like everything that came since LoR was released.

It doesn't have a Lance... It has however a DBB with BO3 on top of all the important trappings of a A2B cruiser. And 4DHCs. Scary stuff!
I actually quite like the looks. Its blocky, but hey I kinda like blocky! After all, the Dreadnought Cruiser was my favorite ship!

Awww Yeaaaaah, Not to mention - Better beam arrays!
Today is a good day to be a backward cruiser fan. Might actually get to use torpedoes on my beamboats now!

Return of Ja'Dok Series (6 Part Series)
Enemy of the Exile Series (4 Part Series)
Task Force Ja'Dok Series (3 Part Series)
So, the ship appears to have a dual-neck set up, though not as large a gap, like the Odyssey-class. Interesting.

TL;DR, blame the Vesta for giving us double necks, and now logically all Starfleet ships should have double necks to be faster.
