Hi.. i have checked when the patching started ( 2pm UK ) and was only lasting for 2 hours.. it is now 6:45pm and i can't load the launcher... keeps giving me a connection error..

and even more worrying is when i run a Ping on the "www.startrekonline.com" website it comes back as Timed out.. 100% loss..

these maybe UN-related, but i can't get on the game? is the patching taking longer than expected or is this another issue.. if so how can i fix this..

    Thanks for all help..

They never said it wasn't their connection. The did say it was possibly an ISP issue, they just never directly said it was yours. To those that are just being cynical and spiteful, please have patience.

from what I have heard it is in fact a problem on PayPal's part. Something about a problem transferring the data from PayPal's Servers to Perfect World Entertainment's servers. I did in fact speak to one of the Billing Rep's on the phone as well as get a ticket resolved regarding this issue and both of those said the exact same thing. My next step is to contact PayPal and find out exactly what is going on. But if they say (as you claim) that we are being scammed, then I will be highly annoyed, because generally Perfect World Entertainment has been extraordinarily good at getting money issues taken care of.

So, it looks like those that can tether to a mobile ISP can patch, start the game, get to the character screen, then disconnect and launch from the actual .exe file, if I am keeping up on all the posts correctly. So patching is the issue.

So it seems possible a route hasn't been pushed to the regular ISPs that has been sucessfully pushed to the mobile ISPs for getting to the patcher. Again, a rough guess.

gameclient.exe will still try to connect to the patcher so no, on DSL it will not work.

The published route idea seems plausible.

Firstly, I'm one of the "few" that cannot open the patcher, but before the servers went down, I was able to purchase a ton of Zen. When I purchased this Zen, it did not show up in my account as processing or anything -- like it had never happened.

So, I contact support -- I get a canned response that it is Paypal's fault. I call PayPal and the agent at PayPal insists I'm being scammed and that their systems are running as intended -- he also states that PWE has their money as the transaction shows clearly on PayPal's side. So, now to clarify the situation and to give PWE a chance to explain things, I call, I call, I call, I call some more... I've been calling since 20 mins ago and no one answers the phone during their normal business hours....

I am so inspired by trust in PWE right about now.....

I'm getting this exact problem as well, i bought 1,100 ZEN, and now it's not showing and the patcher isn't working as well for me  It's starting to make me really angry

    Another UK outage here.

No point in posting my Tracert results, they're identical to most of those already posted.

Why didn't someone at Cryptic think "Hang on, if the auto-updater should fail, we should have a manual update system so that users can download the patch files and run the patch locally"

I'd agree on the published route.

Although having said that, doesn't explain the packets that DO get through on broadband.
