    i switched internet to cellphone connection instead of normal DSL .. started the game and launcher started update..
    now all working
    try it ..

    Oh lord, seems that the big USA has literary the biggest unreliable networks. Why doesn't PWE rent some very reliable servers in Amsterdam. Internet infrastructure in Europe... you really can trust the huge networks here :P
    P2W is Pay to Play for me, what else? Duh! :D

    I don't know about other MMOs and how deveolpers use to treat their customers (i don't really care tTBH), but this is really problematic here... i am really p***ed and absolutely not in the mood to read any lame excuse right now....


    Devs, get it done or at least admit that you messed it up.
    Not only that you completely twist Star Trek itself into something which doesn't even remotely resemble the IP, now you can't even grant a unproblematic acess to your game?


    Anyway, we should get at least some kind of really GOOD compensation, like a free chimera or a temporal destroyer....

    Its called tethering it uses your mobile data on your PC for internet access, its different to setup for most phone manufacturers, just did it with my iphone and its gotten into the game! albeit a little sluggish compared to my broadband connection...

    I'm in Germany and experience the same problems. 1 Hour ago the launcher was about to load, but got stuck just before I could enter my login-data. It said "Loading" till I quit and tried again. Then it never passed the patcher-update-screen.

    even if it is a problem with cogent, its still cryptics problem.. if i own a flower shop, and i cant get the flowers someone wants because its held up some where, i still need to make it happen, or i dont get the customer..
    now im gonna admit that i dont know a heck of alot about internet providers, mirrors, or companies like cogent..
    but i will make an educated guess, that there are more providers other than cogent.. cause if i can log onto rift, and wot, and every other game i own, than that means they are most likely using a different provider..
    and if cryptic keeps constantly using a crappy provider in the boston area and elsewhere, well than thats on them..

    i have patience if it is something that is a one time thing, or rarely happens, but i get lots of rubber banding, and they keep telling me it is because of where i live and this cogent thing.. (and i cant do anything on my end to really fix that lol)..
    this is when my patience runs out..

    cryptic, figure out why every other game i play has little to no connection problems, and then do what they are doing..

    I only have a 100mb data plan, and the update will probably fly right over that. Also, why should I use my mobile data when my DSL worked earlier?

    Perhaps if the cryptic servers weren't batch files running on Windows ME then maybe it would work...

    FYI -- was able to get all my other internet stuff just fine, include You Tube and MechWarrior On-line.

    Please fix this. I have a Fleet event this evening.

    So... is it possible to avoid routing through 38.111.40.114 (Cogent Communications) and route through somewhere else? Seeing as Cogent is the issue and has been an issue several times over the past few years.
