Holy thread derail batman! Changing the subject back to the original one, the value of dilithium relative to c-points is going up again.

    Yeah , it's just premature lockbox detonation ... .
    Give it a week . :P

I think the biggest part of the problem is that there are now too many dilithium sinks, and just no extra ways of earning dilithium.

I saw it over the weekend and kept tabs on it. So far looks like it bottomed out around 91 per zen. The prices didn't drop one bit.

That's because there's a key sale and a new lockbox. People be keeping their zens to spend on keys (either to try for the Dom ships, or to sell on the Exchange. Once the sale goes away, and the boxes lose their novelty, expect the price to go back down to the mid-low 80's.

going from mid 80?s to low 90?s isn?t really a significant change in light of having both a brand new lock box AND a key sale. I found this Dominion box completely uninspiring, I guess a lot of people did as well?

The way they?ve added character bound dil rewards in a box with lobi that are also character bound... I dunno, its like they WANT you to think it twice before opening one. Its so limiting if I wanted lobi I would choose to open a temporal box instead of a Dominion box.

I wonder if the new foundry changes will cause the price to drop back into the mid 80's?

I am sure there were huge farming of the IOR going on which put lots of dilthium into the market.

I get more dilithium per foundry mission now that its time based. And I'm not playing the three hour missions either.

This continues to be a self inflicted wound. There's so much easy dilithium now the exchange rate should be back up in the 300 range. Zen sellers keep under valuing what they have in order to feed their "Want all T5 NAO!" compulsion. Until they chill out dilithium farmers are going to be having a grand ol' time.

If the price goes that high again and a single person is stupid enough to keep playing this game, they deserve whatever life has in store for them.

That would be a self inflicted wound by a different segment of the player base for sure. But I see a big swing happening once everyone gets their uber stuffs. Maybe it'll middle out somewhere around 150 per Zen

with all the dilthium sinks in place and not much being added to the c-store as most things in the future will cost marks + dilthium - I don't expect it to ever go above 120

Very likely. It's still hovering around 90. We'll see how it goes come May.

Kind of makes me wonder if the Romulan faction, if that is what May is, is free to Gold but something you can buy access to via the C-Store will result in a bump as Silver people desparately seek zen.

Of course it also makes me wonder if they will be even more need Dil sinks, evening that too :(

Of course this happens now that I'll be without Internet at home for quite some time and huge pile of mining claims waiting to be used.

    Ah well. Such is life.

Tell me , do you :

    a) believe the majority of the playerbase is in uberfleets who are well on the way to T5 starbase ?

    b) think that Cryptic will leave well enough alone , or will continuously add moar uber stuffs to acquire ?

From my observation , Cryptic will not stop adding Dill sinks to the game .
They call that "offering more choices" .
I call it "stringing us along so we don't notice that they are not making real content" .

Either way the result is the same .
    Or perhaps not .
Perhaps ... we will come to a point where new players will enter the game , see what they have in store for themesefs (build a Starbase/Embassy/whatever other "holdings" Cryptic comes up with) , and decide that the mountain of grind is too big and turn around and walk away .

And no amount of fiddling with the Tutorial , or tweaking , or adding cutscenes , or "remastering" will change that .
