We could make a mix, "Redshirt Survivor of Alternate Timeline"

If they'd throw in a playable Romulan Warbird for those who have made it to 1000 days the hard way, I'd be ok too. ;)

Even playable romulan shuttle would make it okay for me

Keep in mind, +30 to Targeting Systems means +297 to Accuracy.

Its more like 3%, hardly the gamebreaker you make it out to be.

You all are forgetting the simple thing. Its a 9 console ship. Which logical means, they are going to sell us a 10 console upgraded version in the c-store or in the fleet store.

As long as we can unlock it with a tier 1 shipyard, and not a tier 5 shipyard. Or make it a 500 zen C-store ship for LTS SUBS ONLY!

altho both options are animal poo ( keeping it polite here ) It should be on par with Fleet right from the get go, They upgrade the Lockbox ships to be onpar why not this ship?!

Most likely a fleet store version since anyone and everyone can buy one.

That was only because when the ship "jumped", the main power core vanished, so in order to fire the gun, they have to reconfigure the ship to make connections between the secondary power core(s) and the main gun. To this day I still don't know why they didn't just build a big switch or something to bridge the gap, but whatever.

This ship is apparently designed to have it's main arrays "hidden" when not in use. Presumably to avoid an "aggressive" look (which to me is more deceptive than just having the weapons there to begin with).

Heh. This is SO off-topic. :D

I just finished watching the entire Macross Franchise with my nephew, save for the last couple of episodes that we have yet to get to (and the new FB7 movie, obviously).

Anyway, the SDF-01 was required to transform before it lost the SpaceFold Engine. The twin booms had to slide apart and their center portions had to rotate in order to create the 'barrel' for the quantum energy cannon.

As for why they didn't just build a switch, the Fold Engine never defolded, but it was not gone in the literal sense. It was still 'there' and still constantly produced the energy, it was just out of dimensional phase. They showed it once. It was all black and sparkly.

I assume that they could not build anything in that space because the crew would have been fried if they stepped in to the area by the flowing energies. That was they had to reconfigure the ship, so that only the parts vessel that were designed to hold the quantum energy would enter the area where the Fold Generator was as they would not be harmed by it.

James was right, that KDF with the Battle Cloak looks darn sweet. I'm wondering just how over powering that multi-target Disruptor Javelin is going to be :D

On the Fed side, this makes me even more sad for the Dreadnought. The fact that this ship only has 9 consoles really is sorta a let down from everything I was expecting. This really does mean Cryptic/PWE want you to pay for the extra console slot. Don't get me wrong, awesome ships, both of them. Give it 10 consoles and make people wait to get it, this is suppose to be the ultimate reward.

Don't feel so bad for the poor Dreadnought, it does have 8 weapon slots and not 7. :)

I'll add that due to a combination of price and apparent lack of desire to have an upgraded version if I understand Geko's posts correctly, they should go ahead and make this ten console.

Just make it an extra sci console though. It encourages making it a C-Store console dump slot and balances this out in adirection where Sci Captains may want it for regen mode.

I know how you feel, I'm a tac that tends to focus on sci too, but I was thinking of either another Engi Console or a Universal Console slot (evil grin). Goes with the rest of the ships seating a bit, it is a tactical vessel, but is split even between science and engineering, it would only make sense to have 3 engineering, 3 science and 4 tactical. This would allow the Universal BOFF slots be the deciding factor. If it had been up to me, that universal Ensign would of been a universal Lt. since that Lt.Cmdr is already going to science.

Well, I don't focus on science, really. For me, an extra sci-console would leave me looking for a C-Store console to drop in the slot.

I just think that extra sci console would be a nice token gesture whereas an extra engineering or tac console would make this ship a REPLACEMENT for other ships rather than something cool on its own.

Actually, what I'd like to see them do is give these ships a carrier Boff layout.

    Cmdr Tac
    Lt Cmdr Sci
    Lt Cmdr Engi
    Lt Universal

Gives a nice, well rounded ship that can go offensive or full up cruiser depending on how you staff her. Having 10 console slots would be nice, but mixed with the rest of the ship the suggested Boff Seating would make her killer.

And being able to use a fed cloaking device would be nice. Just saying, since they're prototypes.

And sensor analysis, since this is supposed to be the Super Prototype unholy stepchild of an Escort, Sci ship and Light Cruiser.

When they say it will have some sort of lotus power, this is what comes to mind.

I'm liking what I see so far.

... Am I the only one who thought "Death Blossom" at the Lotus mode pics?

    Maybe.

    =edit=

Well I had been thinking it would be nifty if the devs would add another vet reward to 1000 days where the full Admiral rank was unlocked for us, maybe even Fleet Admiral; but now they've made it so purchasing the LTS immediately unlocks all vet rewards, so perhaps that wouldn't be so nifty, after all.

    No interior.

Looks like maybe no ship until tomorrow too, despite rewards previously unlocking at x99.1 as opposed to x00.0 this time that is apparently failing to be the case. So I guess actual 1000 Day Vets aren't even going to get a few hours of early access, even though by all previous accounts they should be getting just that...

There are no Vets anymore, just people who have played the game for a long time...

I'm kinda bitter at this development, though on the positive side it means that I don't have to wait till Dec to get this new ship...

I wonder if They will at least acknowledge in some manner those of us who have been around since the beginning with something else special...

    ...probably not...

I think at the very least, the assorted Titles should not be given out except to those who have Actually been around long enough to Earn Them!

I believe they still haven't reinstated the Ambassador and, what was it... Emissary? titles yet. The ones for early adoption that already existed that they unceremoniously dumped with the PWE switch over. So probably not is no doubt the right answer.

They also haven't fixed "Join Date: Jun 2012" on the forums, and probably never will, nor do anything about that.

It's like they're trying to conceal how many actual "old timers" there are... maybe because there's such an embarrassingly small number of us left...

This 'old timer' is having a hard time at the moment reconciling his feelings toward this recent development...

    But..., like yesterdays tuna casserole...

Personally, I am indifferent toward this Vet Rewards development.

I do think the new Fed ship is pretty nifty. In a lot of ways, it was what I had jokingly asked for months ago. So I am eager to try it out.

Oh well, I get some new ships to play with a few days early.

is there gonna be a way for silver members and people who arn't 1000 day vets to get a variation of the ship
    @CaptainGeko
No plans for that. How much would that enrage vets?

So, "no plans at this time" for this to be a C-Store ship.
1000 Day Veteran Exclusive Starship Variant only.

Didn't take very long for those plans to change.

I can just imagine the conversations,

"Well they're not technically c-store ships."

"Technically, no, but they are now available for purchase. Just as if they were on the C-Store."

"Not 'just as if it were on the C-Store'... It costs a heck of a lot more."

"Ah yes. Right. So obvious.... So it's more like a pair of lockbox ships."

"... Don't you have something you should be doing?"

Wow... that's just fail. Looks like some PWE CEO decided to overrule it, disregarding the Veterans in this case.

Hate to say it, but yeah...... :(

Guess this pretty much answers the question if "there is going to be any future Veteran Rewards past 1000 Days?". From here on out, everything we originals had, is now a signing up perk as part of a new LTS package. :(
