I will post the rest of the results in a few more minutes

I openned up 245 boxes and got no Temporal ship

I stopped at 245 because it gave me a total of 1602 lobi(221 from last lock box that was never used) and I bought 2 Temporal Destroyers

the last 40 boxes opened the about of Lobi given seemed to drop off a lot - perhaps they already have given out so much by the shear mass of boxes I hear are being opened that they made some internal adjustments to the odds - don't know - but Cryptic does not post the odds and will also not confirm if they make adjustments to these odds during the event(or not that i have read) By looking at the exchange there are already dozens and dozens of temporal destroyers up for sale so at 800 each I would say lots and lots of lobi was given out.

    Holy Cow!

The Vegas casinos would LOVE to swing odds like this. But, they are regulated so you actually have a mathematical chance to win.

Thanks levi3. Here's the final breakdown then.

    18 500 Fleet Credit boost
    60 Standard DOFF packs
    12 Temporal DOFF packs
    32 Temporal Beacons
    42 Polarized Disruptor weapons
    46 Gamma Duty Officers
    13 100 Fleet Mark Boosts
6 Mirror Universe Recon Sci Ships
    9 Mirror Univer DSSV ships
    7 Isometric/Antimatter console boxes
    0 Temporal ships

And a total of 1380 Lobi or 5.6 Lobe per box on average.

So in short, sell keys and wait for someone else to get the ship and put it up on the exchange.

I aim to please - there are 2 things i want:

    1) Cryptic to make enough money to keep this game going and being made better, and

    2) Players to feel like they really love the game.

Unfortunatly sometimes both are not compatible.

Well the funny thing is that since the box was announce until about 2 pm today the Forums were busting at the seams with activity- now it's a ghost town - the change in just a few hours is astonishing!

    look this:

    245 Master Key

    1 Master Key = 1.500.000 (exchange (27-09-2012))

    245 * 1.500.000 = 367.500.000

I have spent double that building my solo T3 starbase:( - both in EC spent and opportunity costs(ie contributing 1300 security doffs vs selling@ 200k each - that being just security doffs!!)

How you came to such big Zen Values ?

The mirror ships are about 0,5M EC on exchange for example.
If you buy the normal ones at the Shipyard, with exchange from Zen to Dil its a maximum of 625Zen.

Also the doff packs, I think the reinforcment doffpack with the chance for tuffli is 259Zen.
Ones with no chance for any better than some doffs is 220k EC (and price heavy falling) on exchange (from doffgrinder general for free ;).

    Regards :)

Wow 250 boxes and no Ship? that's unlucky.
I had similar luck with the tholian one. Ended up buying the ship for 40M EC

    This one:
opened 70 (Woudn't have opened any, but needed some loby for the new set so I didn't open them for the ship)
Got the ship on my 20th or so box. the rest were 3 Temporal Doffs 1 Console 1 MU ship, 1 Fleet Mark Bonus 13 of the Temporal Doff Assignment Devices. The rest were packs and stuff.

Sold the ship on the Exchange. Will buy it again in 2-3 months when the prices drop.

The Ship or the (very rare) Time Doff pack is the only win situation when opening boxes

The Math is simple: the reciprocal of a percentage is the number of boxes you need to open on average to obtain the given item. Let's say the Console is at 2,9%, i.e. every 35th box contains a console. So on average you will burn through 35 keys or 35 * 1125 = 3938 Zen.

Yes, you will get some other stuff along the way, but if you are only interested in the Console, that's the price you have to pay. Of course, you can also look at it from the pov, that each item costs 112,5 Zen, (one key), but that wouldn't be honest IMO.

    Regards,
    Rachel

The following Table of costs takes into consideration that you would actually want and need everything that you get from opening the boxes (including each and every common DOff or single Loby Crystal). The prices are normalized, so that adding them up weighted by chance, would yield 112,5 Zen:

    Analysis based on 245 Boxes
    • Temporal Science Vessel Starship: ~1523 Zen
    • Cross-Faction Starship Console: ~328 Zen
    • Mirror Universe Ship Pack Recon: ~255 Zen
    • Mirror Universe Ship Pack Deep Space: ~383 Zen
    • Temporal Duty Officers: ~177 Zen
    • Fleet Mark Bonus Pool: ~177 Zen
    • Fleet Credit Bonus Pool: ~128 Zen
    • Temporal Beacon Storage Device: ~74 Zen
    • Polarized Disruptor Weapon Pack: ~55 Zen
    • Gamma Quadrant Duty Officer Mini-Pack: ~50 Zen
    • Standard Duty Officer Mini-Pack: ~38 Zen
    • 1 Loby Crystal: ~1.7 Zen
Again, this table only reflects the individual value of each item, if you actually want and use EVERYTHING the box gives you and don't throw items away in search for something better.

However, if you are after one specific item and don't care about the rest, the following table is for you:
    Analysis based on 245 Boxes
    • Temporal Science Vessel Starship: ~18281 Zen
    • Cross-Faction Starship Console: ~3938 Zen
    • Mirror Universe Ship Pack Recon: ~4594 Zen
    • Mirror Universe Ship Pack Deep Space: ~3062 Zen
    • Temporal Duty Officers: ~2120 Zen
    • Fleet Mark Bonus Pool: ~2120 Zen
    • Fleet Credit Bonus Pool: ~1531 Zen
    • Temporal Beacon Storage Device: ~889Zen
    • Polarized Disruptor Weapon Pack: ~656 Zen
    • Gamma Quadrant Duty Officer Mini-Pack: ~599 Zen
    • Standard Duty Officer Mini-Pack: ~459Zen
    • Average Lobi (5.6) per Box: ~20 Zen

    Regards,
    Rachel

Edit: Added values for time ship based on the report of two other users claiming they found 1 in 10 boxes and 1 in 70 Boxes for a total of 2 in 325 boxes.

You did it your way, Levi, and I did it mine.
Exchanged all my saved Dil for Master keys.
    Sold them on the exchange.
Watched the exchange like a hawk.
Someone obviously trying to post their Temporal Science vessel for like 99 million, missed a few zero's and BOOP , Got me a time ship for 9,900 ec.

It's back on the exchange already.
Hope you had fun with the boxes Bro.
I know I had fun on the exchange :)

    Peace

Hippie that's a bit of bad karma there bro - since it was a huge error on the other persons part and they probably feel horrible - it's like finding someones wallet and not returning it or cellphone or something.

Anyways that's just how I see it. You have their info on the ticket. But it looks like you were looking for some unfortunate soul to make a mistake, I don't know what to say dude.

If you get the temporal beacon, you might as well have gotten nothing. I've done 6 temporal assignments, all with purple doffs aligned to the needs of the assignments. Even on critical success, I got blue doffs that are nothing special. There is a small chance of a purple doff. On success you get a green or white doff (again, random). The kicker is, if you get moderate success you get nothing, just CXP. I got moderate 3 times and critical 2 because the percentages assigned to those assignments are horrible.

Ah now i get your point

but since there is an exchange in the game it is cheaper to spend 120k EC for a gamma Quadrant Pack
than using some keys worth 1.5M EC just for trying to get this Gamma Quadrant Pack, as example :D

Biggest part of lockboxes is the result of the more lockboxes come out the more it does not feel like star trek..

You load into a STF or Fleet Event and you see next to you a ferrengi marauder, jem hadar attack ship, a cardassian galor, tholian ship, and a time ship... I am still waiting for a borg lockbox with a elite tactical cube with 10 commander universal stations.

I personally never had many moments when I thought this game felt like some concise canon aspect of Trek. From the first day of Headstart, when Sirius was filled with TOS Connies and Mirandas, I knew this game didn't care about its own canon. So, since before Day 1 I knew STO for what it was: an All-Purpose Trek game designed to appease Trek fanboys as much as possible.

The argument about how a Bug or Galor TRIBBLE with the game are no more valid then how an NX or Miranda TRIBBLE with the game - as neither makes sense as Faction ships in a 25th Century Trek universe. They're all in the game because some segment of the fan-base geeks-out over getting to use them; and that's all STO really is: a way for Trek fans to geek-out - each fan in his own way.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

I haven't played since yesterday morning, pre-patch. I might get in this afternoon, if not it'll be later tonight. I doubt I'll open more then 10 Lockboxes per day, though. I'm a firmer believer in karma then you are - I want to spread the chances for potential luck around rather then try and hope it's all on one day. :)

I am also a firm believer that the guy who claimed Cryptic would "Juice" my results caused them to do the exact opposite and made sure I didn't get it(considerind the massive views this post was getting) Either that our I am just very unlucky which is probably the case and much more likely than cryptic manipulating things.:( But you guys can make up your own minds.
