I don't see where this says that these "unique" and "exclusive" items will never be able to be purchased in the C-Store at a later date.

Whats the date on that FAQ? The CO offer was only available until October 1st I believe.

Again, the CO Lifetime subs were for just that a LIFETIME SUB. If you are telling me that you paid $200 just to get an in-game costume, then perhaps you should examine your own choices. You really thought that an STO uniform that was offered in another game, would never be made available to people in STO? Does that really make sense to you? Of course, if you were willing to pay $200 just for an in-game uniform... :)

Do you read posts before responding I was agreeing with someone else about how it's not ok to TRIBBLE over the few for the majority

Right, I'm just keeping up with everything. Up until now, it's simply been that Cryptic is TRIBBLE... somebody at least three times a week on these forums. It doesn't matter about majority or minority, because Cryptic is evil. Somebody has probably even put a face on what they think Cryptic's evil looks like.

But now... as you've so boldly pointed out, it's exceeded the original levels.

Cryptic has enslaved us through their savvy deceptions. That was the plan all along.

They didn't sell the LTS with the bonus MU uniforms so that people would become interested in other products of theirs, a.k.a. STO, but sold it with them instead to trap them into a life of slavery to CO. It's the Hotel California all over again.

Pretty much guys it all comes down to 21st century marketing.....not really all that differnt that it was thousands of years ago, when you sell you make your product more that what it is.......that means it is NOT what is actully IS

Go buy a car, and know what questions to ask bout the specifics on the engine if you dont know how it works, ask about financing, if you dont work in loans/finance........not much you can do, only just the best you can........

I follow the "glased over look" myself

Thats why eveything we see nowadays geared toward younger people, they fall for it, get a laywer and a 20 year expierence plus business admin together to make a product for a 15 to 25 year old....youll win evertime, no matter how much you say "read the terms and conditions" sure some will, they know that, they are not stupid, but not ever enough to make it more complex.......................right now that is

I think the Big Lebowski had it figured out more than John Wayne.....shot your gun every where, system will get it out of ya one way or another

you guys should look up Bill Hicks on Marketing on youtube......I accept the bull now, im 35 years old, I dont watch much TV and books are becomming more appealing, they dont have terms and conditions or ads, and sleep too is good, I work, come home, pay my bills and dont break the law.......now im getting grey......I got an idea where this is going............and what its all about, life that is......apathy is my friend

You're really stretching to try and misplace whatever blame you feel is necessary onto the wrong party here.

My point was that SWG damaged it's reputation with all parties, and most people absolutely revile it now. Most MMO's at least try to avoid ticking off a portion of their playerbase to avoid getting a "rabid anti MMO" sect going on other forums.

If you want to go along that line, then we already had a rabid anti Cryptic sect here already and had before launch so this was a case of fire and no effect.

I know its mind boggling, but there are people that did just by the CO lifetime offer for the uniforms. They mostly likely drive expensive cars, and $200 is nothing to them.

Others, like myself, its was a deciding factor between a discounted subscription period and lifetime subscription.

EPIC complaint threads about the NGE (and there was actually a good reason to complain there). :(

Then you wanted to play CO. The MU uniform was just a perk. It was a way to try to get CO people interested and buzzing about STO.

FYI, for the MU uniform that came with the CO lifetime subscription, the offer never said "exclusive".

On the other hand, some of the other stuff, like the Borg BO did say "exclusive".

Yes it did. We can even post the evidence.

Where does it say "exclusive" means forever? And "unique" means "no one will ever be able to buy it in the C-Store"?

Good luck with that one.

Yeah, I wanted to play CO and still do. The MU uniforms were a perk, but they were also the deciding factor to go for a lifetime offer, over the pre-paid discount period.

Plus they encouraged it, by insisting it would be the only way of getting hold of them. People even called them, and where told the same thing.

<@Cryptic_Daeke> There will be plenty more exclusive offers on the line later in production. The Mirror Universe costume is exclusive, yes.
[21:01] <@Cryptic_Daeke> Look at all the CO preorder deals.
[21:02] <Sorbek> So the Uniform is exclusive? aka we will not be able to get it anywhere else?
[21:02] <@Cryptic_Daeke> That's correct, Sorbek.

Ok and? If that was posted before STO even went into Beta, then how could it be available anywhere else? I also don't see where he anyone says "this will be exclusive forever and no one will be able to buy them at any point in the future at all whatsoever"

At the time, yes.

It WAS exclusive there and not available through any other means or STO promotion.

You remember that movie example?
[21:02] <Some Customer> So Inception is coming exclusively to theaters? aka we will not be able to watch it anywhere else?
[21:02] <@Some_Dude> That's correct, dude.

I hate to get technical, but considering that they were targeting CO players, that is the only way to get it in Champions Online. To be completely fair CO Devs/GMs were probably not the best place to get info on what would be offered in STO.

Err, yeah. It was a CO lifetime subscription offer. Not a STO one.

Not "is it available", its "will not be". You are getting your tense mixed up. They lead people to believe there would never been other means of obtaining them. Thay wasn't the only corrispondance from them on the matter. Any CO lifetimer who were interested in the uniforms will tell the same story.

I'm getting the feeling that a lot of these people just copy and paste their replies from other threads because they can't think of anything new to say. That or they change the wording to try and make it look different after they copy and paste it.

At any rate, you guys are clearly missing the huge point.

You're being bigger drama queens than I am about keeping this hilarity alive.
Think about it, it's not that big of a deal. If you spent two hundred dollars on an online costume, that is a big deal, but that shouldn't be every one else's. That's between you and your bank account.

But really, it's not. Those items were bonus items. If people are so lured to buy LTS's for a costume design, then I am living the wrong life. If you're willing to throw money away mindlessly, then who can blame Cryptic.

Now, if you weren't throwing money away mindlessly, and bought it for CO...

well then... you're just making a big deal so that somebody hears you talk about it, aren't you?
