Thats you simply adding you own words. They said it many times, it would be available by no other menas.
It wasn't available by any other means at the time. It was completely accurate at the time. MU piece is exclusive to CO Lifer Promotion in 2009. Inception is exclusive to Theaters in 2010.
MU piece is now in the C-store in Summer 2010. Inception will be on DVD in 2011 (or even Winter 2010).
Logic wins! That's me using those words as a logical proof to support a position.
Err, yeah. It was a CO lifetime subscription offer. Not a STO one.
Not "is it available", its "will not be". You are getting your tense mixed up. They lead people to believe there would never been other means of obtaining them. Thay wasn't the only corrispondance from them on the matter. Any CO lifetimer who were interested in the uniforms will tell the same story.
Actually, it's not "it will not be"
it's you couldn't then.... key word, then... get it "anywhere" else.
Like, you couldn't go to the gym where people walk on treadmills and order your MU uniform to play on CO in the upcoming six months.
Look at it this way. In marketing the word exclusive corresponds to "limited time offer" You got an exclusive item. There was no other way to get that item for some time. There is no part of exclusive that means or says forever. Therefore you bought a COLTS that came with a exclusive item. It was exclusive, hence you got what you paid for.

I'm convinced that alot of people just don't want to listen after spending alot of time in the (Previously stickied) topic. Especially now that I just witnessed one poster try to justify the whole thing by saying that "bad things happen all the time in the real world, like the Holocaust".
I'm honestly not sure which of the pro MU distribution posters are elaborate trolls. I've yet to see an argument for them that didn't rely on digging deep, and I do mean deep into a legal document for justification, or circuitous logic.
I don't really want to go over this all again, but he was not the only one saying such. People even called them directly, asking the question.
They made it quite clear at the time that your interpritation (for convience) is incorrect.
No they didn't. They just told you the same thing that was said in chat. You refuse to believe that is what it means. Sorry you feel you got messed over but the fact remains you didn't
Remember the big long conversation over the legality of the issue in the EU. You were proven wrong on all points.
[21:02] <Sorbek> So the Uniform is exclusive? aka we will not be able to get it anywhere else? That is, at no location, neither in this universe nor any alternate version, for all of eternity, including any attempt to travel to the past and obtain it?
[21:02] <@Cryptic_Daeke> That's correct, Sorbek .It is yours, and yours alone, for all of eternity. In fact, if the game ever shuts down, an official Cryptic representative will deliver it to you personally, along with a sash declaring your superiority over all other players.
Dude, I proved you wrong on this time and time again in the other thread.
Know you didn't. You obviously deluded yourself into thinking you did.
As I said, other CO lifetimers have said the exact same thing. We were told there would never be any other means of obtaining the uniforms. That was multiple times, by multiple people, by multiple avenues. No matter how much you wish, you can't change that.

I'm really sorry that you feel like you have been cheated or misled, into purchasing a CO Lifetime sub. I am glad that you enjoy Champions, and hope that you also continue to enjoy STO. I think that a lot of the misunderstandings have come from the fact that this is a Star Trek game. What I mean is that this game attracted quite a few people that had not played MMOs before, and that were not familiar with how perks, exclusives, and reward items work in MMOs. The Wrath of Kahn uniforms were offered with a Blu-Ray DVD set. The set was $80, because it was an entire season of TOS or Next Gen. Many people wanted that uniform, but most realized that an item for STO would not be made available in somethin not related to STO, and never be offered to those actually playing. Cryptic likely did not take into account that so many non-MMO gamers would be jumping into STO, without really knowing how MMOs work.

Don't know about the Holocaust bit. I think he was wrong to include that.
Legal document? Because when it comes right down to it, there is where it is all spelled out. I know you are trying to stick to the principle of bad business practice and that's fine. However not everyone agrees that it is a bad practice. It is a common practice, good or bad.

Actually I don't feel cheated into buy a CO lifetime subscription. Its turning out to be a good game, since they gave it focus.
I am annoyed about being mislead about the MU uniforms. In hindsite you can probably guess I'm glad I took the offer, simply for CO. However at the time that wasn't the deciding factor between the two offers.

You just want to be all cool and tell your friends how elite you are...
Don't lie.
I like how you read my next post explaining the holocaust remarks or even better taking your other quote out to point out how ridiculous a statement is like if (and I'm paraphrasing probably) were run by majorities then it would be a really screwed up place. Which, then I took to pointing out that it was a screwed up place. I wasn't relating Cryptic and what not to the holocaust. Use your brain for a second, I was pointing out that the world is screwed up and largely over-run by fanatical white majorities. Although, that is changing slowly, and soon the chinese will join into the fray.

There's a trend in the logic here and which side of the greater debate is rational. I'll give a hint: you don't need Twitter to track the trend in these examples.
On a principle I do. Being mislead is being mislead, no matter how you look at it. Also just because it turned out fine for me, doesn't me it did for others. People have different tastes.
Why so I can read some guy re-editing posts and portray things as they weren't, so he can claim the Liberated Borg should remain exclusive. No thanks.
If I recall our discusion was about international advertising laws, not what Crytpic told us directly. What we were told stands and you can't change that.

I don't see any caveats there.
You tried this route this weekend and was shown to be incorrect. Why do you keep trying? Cause this is a new thread?

No I was not proved incorret. CO lifetimers backed me up on it. The group in denial, simply tried to ignore it.

No dishonouring agreements wins.

Show us where it was agreed to that "exclusive" items will be "exclusive" forever.
It has to be because it's a new thread. The reason being is due to it being the only argument they know.

Ya, I am beginning to think the same.
Then you really don't have any room to complain.
I suggest you go back and reread that thread.
