    for username i have
    username@crypticspace.com
    password my
    gamepass

    hostname crypticspace.com port 5222
    override default name with

    bombergirl@Zorena

    Replace the "username" field with your @name (Zorena in this case) and use your game password and it should work.

    Just making sure you didn't leave the 'username' field in as what you put into Trillian. ;) Anyway... if it's still not working for you, dunno. Working for me. Which Trillian version are you using?

    Hmm. I wonder if XMPP support on the 4.2 free version is crippled somehow. In 3.x you had to get the paid version just to use it at all. I'm using 4.2 paid.

    Some side notes for channel listing.. by default seems CrypticSpace room list has servers set as "guilds.crypticspace.com" when its supposed to be "channels.crypticspace.com"

    Also having issues logging in with my HTC HD2 using pidgen and G1 doesnt login either.. iphone has issues too.

    Im glad it shows me as channel leader. Heh.

    The only xmpp fully compliant app for cell phones right nowthat works .......is MONAL.

    MONAL works for, seems some iphone xmpp multi-im chat clients may not be full xmpp compliant.

    I don't think that's turned on by default in Trillian. The XMPP connection works just fine for me, and I didn't have to adjust any of Trillian's default connection settings.

    Nevermind, I figured it out. For username, instead of just the username, you need to add "@CrypticSpace.com" after

    Hi,

    I'm using Miranda IM and it seems there is a problem with chats/channels. I can enter a channel (e.g. my fleet channel), I see peaple in the channel but I can't send or receive any messages.

    Everithing else works great, I can see my friends on the IM roster, I can send private messages and they can reply (/tell), but I have no idea how to talk on the channels. Does anyone know if it is possible on Miranda?

    I think my issue is either something on cryptic's side or my user name.

    I wonder if that "space" between Capt and Skip is the issue.

    I have helped 4 people now with using meebo with no issues.

    I did notice that these people have the same username and forum handle. Where I do not.

    I have tried username@crypticspace.com, capt skip@crypticspace.com, CaptSkip@crypticspace.com. and no joy.

    I also have tried IM Lite, Meebo, Jabiu on the android phone. I have tried Jabber and pidgen, and trillian on the computer.

    Nice Feature. But one Question. is it normal, i have for every twink one entry in my Trillian. so for exampel

    Testman has 3 Chars
    Handle in my list
    TestMan
    TestMan
    TextMan

    is it possible to reduse it on one TestMan in my list?
    And second Question is it possible by logon also see the logonChar name?

    Seems its impossible to talk in channels using miranda's jabber.dll xmpp implementation, reading channels and everything else seems to work fine.. anyone knows of a workaround for that ?

    Works nicely with Pidgin!

    My minor gripe is that Pidgin shows people that are logged off STO but online in Pidgin as offline.

    You can read channels in miranda? How? I can only see people on the channel.

    Joining and reading channels in mirandaIM (v0.8.27) worked pretty much out of the box for me, here is what i did:

    1. Create account: (i like old style ssl)
    Type: Secure XMPP Network (old style)
    User: <your loginname here>
    Server: CrypticSpace.com
    Password : <your login password here>
    Ressource: <your nickname here>
    [x] use custom connection host and port:
    CrypticSpace.com : 5223

    2. connect.

    3. status menu > stoxmpp > services > create/join groupchat

    4. fill out the form:
    conference server: channels.crypticspace.com
    room: <channelname here>
    nickname: <nickname here>
    password: <leave blank>

    5. click ok. channel window opens.

    Reading channel chat from there worked well and i also saw who is present in the channel. However talking didn't work.

    To answer my own question from up there, I took a look into it what happens.
    When i try to send something to a channel with mirandaIM it looks like this (attempt to send a message + error reply) :

    <message to="somechannel@channels.crypticspace.com" type="groupchat">
    <body>test</body>
    </message>

    <message type="error" to="mikiy@crypticspace.com/mikiy" from="crypticspace.com" id="cryptic">
    <error type="modify">
    <bad-request xmlns="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-stanzas" />
    </error>
    </message>

    For some odd reason the sto xmpp server wants an ID attribute with the message to have it work so this one will work:

    <message to="somechannel@channels.crypticspace.com" type="groupchat" id="xyz">
    <body>test</body>
    </message>

    MirandaIM sends it without the ID attribute but the server seems to require it for some reason. The examples in XEP-0045 seem to not have an ID attribute there either, so im not sure why the server requires it, could be a bug, in any case its annoying as it breaks sending to channels with mirandaIM atm (unless entering the command directly as xml).
